Addy had been going to the gym more. The vulnerability she felt as she fought off that man in the alley drove her to it. She had to do something. Anything. She had to practice. She had to fight. She had to be ready. If she saw him again, it was on sight. He thought he could prey on vulnerable women, but the next time she saw him, those blue eyes of his were going to become very acquainted with the fiery hell that was bear mace. If he was lucky, she'd call the cops. She had reported her attacker to them, but...they were cops. So.

The instructor's voice brought her back down to earth and she shook her head to clear it. He'd asked her to help with class when he saw her come in and she thought perhaps it would be fun. Sharpie day was always her favorite.

Addy nodded along as he described the activity to the class. Everyone would don a school provided white t-shirt and take a Sharpie. They would then do what they could to make as many marks on their partner's white shirt as possible. The point was to demonstrate how easy it is to get stabbed or cut in a knife fight, but it was always a little fun and light-hearted.

As the students paired off, her eyes landed on a kid that didn't seem to have a partner yet. A quick count confirmed he was the last one, so she grabbed a white t-shirt that looked like it would fit him, a pack of multicolored Sharpies, and headed over.

"Hey! You look like you need a partner." The woman proffered the shirt and the pens with a friendly smile. "I'm Addy. I don't think I've seen you around here before. Just trying it out?"
