-note- This colony has slightly darker themes. Lots of blood, mentions of sacrifice. Your character will not be harmed/killed unless you decide you want that to happen.
The world is an eat or be eaten world. The members of Khon Yakhi repeat this to themselves daily. Living means having sacrifice, and they would rather sacrifice others than themselves. The colony is hidden away in the North Ice Lands.
The colony only accepts Ma'ome to join.

Ranks: Sovereign: (1) The leader of the colony, their word is absolute law in the colony. Heir: (1) Typically the offspring of the Sovereign and future ruler of the colony. While they don’t have much power yet, they study under the Sovereign and learn about their subjects. Scions: (∞) Offspring of the Sovereign. Counselors: (-) The Counselors oversee the day to day activities of the colony and make sure everything is running smoothly. They get their orders directly from the Sovereign. For every 10 colony members a new Counselor is added. Nobles: (∞) Nobles are usually family members of the Sovereign or colony members in the Sovereign’s favor. Some are seen as close advisors to the Sovereign.
Hunters: (∞) Hunters go out to bring fresh blood to the colony. Usually in groups, but sometimes individually, they will hunt down their prey and bring them back to the colony to have their blood drained. If the prey survives, it is seen as a good omen and they are allowed to live, though as a thrall. Hunters will typically target Ma’ome, believing Ma’ome has better tasting blood. If the colony is low on supplies however, they will take any predator animal as food. (This is the default rank in the colony) Scouts: (∞) Scouts bring in outsiders who are looking for food and shelter. As payment for the colony’s hospitality, the outsider must give the colony some of their blood as an offering. Healers: (∞) The healers of the colony make sure everyone is in good health. Scholars: (∞) Scholars keep track of the colony’s history, the bloodlines of the colony members and teach both young and old about the colony's ways. Wardens: (∞) Wardens are the guardians of the colony. They protect the border if needed and they step in whenever there is eternal fighting. Some wardens are assigned to higher ranked colony members for personal protection. Nightborn: (∞) Cubs born from two vampires (cannot be a fledgling or thrall) will automatically have this rank.
Fledgling: (∞) Colony members who were previously outsiders or thralls who intend on becoming vampires. Fledgling will have a sire who will help guide them before their trial. If their trial is a success they can pick one of the vampire ranks. If they fail, they become a thrall. Thralls: (∞) Thralls are slaves of the colony. The Sovereign,Heir, Regents and Nobles can have their own personal Thralls. Most Thralls serve the colony as a whole though. They will do minor tasks that need to be done but more often colony members will drink their blood when hungry. Unless the Sovereign says otherwise (which is an extremely rare situation) a thrall can fight for their freedom either by competing against a fledgling during their initiation trial or special events where thralls will fight against each other in order to become a fledgling. Cubs born with at least one parent being a fledgling or thrall will automatically have this rank.
Currently Unavailable Ranks Artisans: (∞) Artisans create jewelry and decorations for the colony. This rank is seen as a luxury and is only available if there are enough colony members. Entertainers: (∞) Entertainers put on performances for the colony. They do so in a number of ways, from singing to dancing to putting on plays. This rank is seen as a luxury and is only available if there are enough colony members.

History
The Founding Khon Yakhi was founded many years ago, when a group of Ma’ome became lost in the Northern Ice Lands. As days passed and desperation grew, one of their members was badly injured. With no resources to heal them, the group realized it was kinder to end their suffering. Yet, once the deed was done, the band’s leader, driven by his will to survive, suggested something unthinkable: that they consume their fallen comrade. Some recoiled in disgust, but others, starving and uncertain when they would eat again, saw it as an opportunity. The group split in two: those willing to do whatever it took to live, and those who could not bring themselves to cross that line. The leader found a strange pleasure in drinking blood and claimed that it made him stronger.
The Rise of Ice Blood Eventually, his followers found shelter. Hunting, however, brought them little more than scraps, barely enough to survive. During one of their hunts, the leader encountered another group of lost Ma’ome. At first, they welcomed them into their shelter. But when food ran short and hunger gnawed at their bellies, the leader reminded his band of the creed: eat or be eaten. Most of the newcomers were slaughtered, though a few were kept alive for their blood. This became their way of life. The leader named the group Khon Yakhi, meaning Ice Blood, and began calling his followers vampires. He preached that drinking the blood of outsiders gave them strength, and that they must capture more to grow their power. Outsiders who resisted were enslaved and became thralls.
The Thrall Revolt Over time, thralls outnumbered the original vampires. Inevitably, rebellion broke out. With their numbers dwindling, the survivors decided thralls would henceforth be given a choice: earn their freedom and leave the colony, or undergo the trials to become vampires themselves.
The Blood Moon Heirs For a time, there was peace, and the colony grew slowly. On a blood moon night, the reigning Sovereign sired a litter of cubs, one of whom was declared heir. That same night, one of the Counselors also had cubs, his eldest being Sephtis, the present-day Sovereign. Being born on a blood moon was considered a sign of fortune, and Sephtis was raised alongside the royal heirs as their playmate. But his father had darker ambitions. Secretly plotting against the royal family, the Counselor had the Sovereign assassinated and all royal kin enslaved as thralls. Declaring Sephtis as his heir, he seized power. His rule was one of cruelty and paranoia, convinced his allies would betray him. In time, suspicion turned on Sephtis. Claiming his son was conspiring against him, he stripped Sephtis of status and forced him into thrallhood. Yet as a thrall, Sephtis learned patience. He forged alliances, studied his father’s weaknesses, and quietly began to weave a plan of vengeance, one that ended with his father’s death. With the tyrant defeated, Sephtis claimed the title of Sovereign and ensured that those who had aided him were rewarded.
Present Day His father’s cruelty had left the colony weakened and its numbers thinned. To prevent such ruin from happening again, Sephtis reformed the laws of Khon Yakhi. He sought to make the colony appear more welcoming to outsiders, introducing the rank of Scout as a means of luring new blood into their ways.
