There was something about tonight that made Sailor Oumuamua feel almost melancholic.
Perhaps it was the lack of a moon over Destiny City, the waxing slicer of a crescent leaving the night darker and more ominous, almost as if the void itself were to swallow the city in her yawning maw. As if the night were so, so very tired of the sparks of conflict and fight dotted all over. Perhaps the sense almost of the city being too-still tonight. Perhaps it was the hour, the quiet, perhaps it was the lack of cars passing below.
Whatever it was, the night had an air almost of melancholy.
Oumuamua's heels clicked as she walked down the rooftops, hopping place to place like she might perhaps be a grasshopper and the Senshi looked about, eyes softening sadly as she looked at the apartments below, echaling in a low, deep sigh at the blacked lights. Gods, she felt like a staqlker, but his apartment was along her route. Finding out had even been an accident!... And here she stood, gazing out over the buildings and the city like a silent sentinel. The visions of mahou shoujou fresh in her mind. She'd watched with her sisters of coutrse, and while she liked them, her tastes were a bit more... Eerie? Perhaps more darjk at times? Unlike Kaida whom had devoured Madoika, Siv had devoured Rozen Maiden, even Shugo Chara. She'd devoured Gundamn and not... More Magical Girl like Miracukoius ladybug. For tyhe gods' sakes, she'd all but devoured shows like Brand New Animal!
....But she haad alsso squirreled away Chobits and even squirrelled away Slayers and she felt... Let down. By media? By her own unrealistic rexsperctations from the war? Both? Was.. She no hero? Wasn't the hero supposed to get... Someone? Instead she stood here, pining over a widower with someone fifteen years her juniour who didn't know she had the biggest crusjh one his stupid smart brain and she hated herself more for it. And then her mind went back to Maigo too. Siv felt - Siv felt rather unsure with Maigo. Was it her?
...Was.... Oumuamua just... Worthless as a person and senshi? Her sister? No issues making connections. Friends. Companions. Siv?
Pumuamua had two friends by fluke of pissing off a captain and needing [bailed out and it was utterly disheartening. Oh Flint was a good connection to meet and Zeke was entertaining but those two acted like brothers and Siv felt liuke...
Oumuamua was a third wheel bothering brotherly energy. It almost felt like a pity partnership and Oumuamua patrolled alone entirely to escape feeling so useless.
"What's the point of being a senshi in an unending war?" Oumuamua finally asked herself.
Though jumping on buildings ewas absolutely a perk. She supposed there were senshi out there with... More than sparjly powers and patrols. Actual connections. Main Characters, as a youtuber she watched put it. Oumuamua wondered if she had "main character" energy but with how he luck felt, it seemed like not. But the senshi did enjoy climbing, jumping, and prowling all night with zero shits to give or answer for and it was a plus. Sure, it wasn't tewrribly romantic - and damnit! Oumuamua was single of the family asking! - but it was... Something? She wasn't quite sure. But something wasn't nothing!
Maybe. And the way 'Maybe' ran in her mind felt like Alastor answering Husk in the Hazbvin pilot. A dry, sardonic sound with a massive grin. That was not a comforting thought really.
Oumuamua frowned, eyes narrowing at it. Not comforting at all, actually. She crossed her arms and sighed deeply, she closed her eyes, and finally she ssat, resisting the urge to find her headphones to sing along to some song to lament her woes, and closed her eyes, frowning.
She felt like... A mess.
