The idea had been percolating in Caelyna's head since she'd spoken to Elkurud. There was something unique about the worlds of these Senshi from beyond Earth, something that had allowed them to survive.

It seemed a question worth pursuing. For Velencya, and for these Senshi, who were strangers in a strange land (a phrase she had heard humans use, one that resonated with her in a way that was...quite intense) as much as the Velencians were. And there was the tantalizing, fascinating beginnings of what felt like a link.

Earth had Chaos. These Senshis' worlds had Chaos. Was that truly...even part of the answer? Caelyna didn't want to contemplate it, not really, but she was a scientist, and a scientist could not stray form a line of inquiry just because it made her feel uncomfortable. So she had scheduled a meeting with Lyndin, brought a sheaf of proposals--but really, she wanted to discuss the possibilities. And perhaps hope for a little guidance.

She had felt aimless, for so long. This felt like...something. Maybe.

When Caelyna arrived, Lyndin was standing in front of the work table he had set up in the living room, head bowed and chin cupped in one hand. He glanced up when she arrived, offering a tired but welcoming smile.

“Caelyna,” he greeted. She was a few minutes early, but that was better than right on time. He wasn’t going to solve this problem right now, he already knew it. A break would have been the best option; he needed to clear his mind and look at it from a fresh angle.

This was a good excuse to clear his mind and return to the problem later.

“Welcome.”

There were two chairs at the table, but there was a couch and coffee table on the other side of the room. There was space both on his table and the other surfaces in the room, depending on where she wanted to make herself comfortable.

“Can I get you something to drink? Feel free to set up anywhere, don’t mind my mess.”

Not that it was much of one; he had a lot of projects ongoing but everything was neat and organized, as put together as he was.

Even now, he was still in his uniform–perfectly maintained and without a wrinkle or blemish. His cape hung from the wall but he seemed ready to take on any function or obligation.

Lyndin was always working. It wasn't exactly a surprise to Caelyna to find him both tired and enmeshed in working on something; both of those things seemed quite usual for him.

"Commodore," she greeted, with a small smile. His presence was ever reassuring; as much of the luster had come off, he was still someone she admired. Perhaps not so unquestioningly as she had, once, but perhaps that was for the better.

"Thank you, but I'll be alright," she said, and she moved to the table.

She had notes, theories--much of it rampant speculation, but perhaps a bit of rampant speculation was positive.

She was also not hesitant to begin to present her ideas.

"I'm sure you're aware of the long-surviving Senshi who've come to Earth from other worlds," she said, as she took her seat. Lyndin was well-connected; surely he had that information from one place or another. "I spoke to one, who told me of his homeworld's infection with Chaos. It seemed curious to me, that these Senshi survived on infected worlds, much like Earth's continued existence--though it seems these Senshi's worlds are much worse off."

All of that was probably obvious. Things he was aware of. But it was the foundation of her interest, and she might as well begin to lay it out.

Though Lyndin’s lack of surprise when she mentioned the senshi could have simply been his unflappable nature when exposed to new or jarring information, he confirmed his awareness of them with a short nod during a moment of silence.

Instead of letting the quiet stretch, or leaving Caelyna to wonder, he further confirmed that he was familiar with the circumstances when he answered, “I have met some of them. Visited, even.”

Obviously, he was interested in where her thoughts were going, so he suggested, “Go on.”
