[The Pale Harem]Who all is entering? belloblossom, Nefarious Muse, Ruriska
What challenges has the albino warrior faced in his life? Theluji Nyeupe is named for his snow white coat, which is also the biggest challenge he constantly faces off against. As if it wasn't enough to have a pale mane while dark manes are the Dawnlands standard for males, his light fur betrays him in the hot sun and sears painful burns into his skin. He learned to adapt to this issue by sleeping in the shade during the daytime and is always the first to arise for the night watch. A nocturnal lion through circumstance, Theluji has become adept at fighting at night. While his pelt may still be a stand out marker for prey, and may garner the mocking looks of other pridemates, he doesn't feel the same insecurities as when he was alone. He's got his ladies at his back now, and he feels supported with them at his side.
How did the pale matron find herself with such a strange warrior? The Pale Matron Kusasa found herself in dire straits one fateful night, in an altercation with a small clan of Hyenas. It was dark and she was alone and they had her cornered haphazardly in a tree, her snarling and swiping at the Hyenas that kept on leaping at her paws and her tail and the chase before that had her exhausted. Then like a vicious ghost came a handsome and pale male Lion, Roaring into the clan with fury from the darkness! Single-pawedly he fought off all of them with fang and claw, he couldn't just leave her there, no, he wouldn't. With Her albino savior there and battle worn, she knew he wasn't weak even though he wasn't dark of color. She knew that she would be safe with him and once they could talk to one another, they also got along quite well too. That was the night they met, and she hasn't left his side since.
Where does the silver huntress fit into this dynamic? Lulana had been born into the Dawnlands, a young and efficient hunter who preferred prowling through the night. Though there had been offers, Lulana had never chosen to join a matron, instead waiting for something special to come along.
Kusasa had always been someone Lulana admired, with her pelt like the sunlight at dawn, and when she first spotted the other lioness with her new pale warrior by her side, Lulana just
knew. This was it!
She promptly invited herself to join them, declaring herself as part of the harem. After all, Theluji was a terrible hunter (not really but she needed the excuse) and needed so many tips, plus someone to chat to during long nights guarding the pride, and Kusasa clearly needed a gal pal to gossip with, someone utterly devoted to keeping her happy.
Nobody seemed to object when Lulana just started hanging out every day, grooming them, happily bringing tasty treats and proudly proclaiming herself their huntress. This was her new family and there didn’t need to be any discussion about it.
They all belonged together.
Does the group have any dreams or desires for the future? It is the collective desire of the three members of the pale harem to prove to the rest of the pride that pale-coated lions are just as important and desirable as those with dark manes and pelts. They hope to do this by inviting other pale-pelted lionesses into their harem and by producing many cubs with those features within it. They will provide a safe space for pale pelted lions who might struggle like Theluji does with albinism, or in with the social expectation of dark features being preferred and in turn, they'll produce cubs who can form their own harems with these features to grow their influence across the pride. Between Thelugi, Kusasa and Lulana, the pale harem has not just desires and dreams, but
goals that they intend to see through.
