Paramore is and always will be my #1, but I am also ALL over the place with music.
been revisiting FOBs Take This To Your Grave lately though. fantastic album.
love to see the Rebecca Black plug.

(also your signature made me ugly cackle lmao. thanks for that)

hell yeah! i have a strong distaste for FOB (no shame - they're very talented) but I funny story - Pete Wentz was in the band Race Traitor - an Iranian hardcore band who just got back together.

As an arab, it's cool to see the resistance. I don't mean to make it political - i see you w/ FOB. And you seeing Becky is all i need to know about you (in a good way!)

Here's the band Wentz used to be in, it cracks me up. He was on the original line-up.

Are they just not your vibes or is the music not the reason for the distaste? im big into Patrick and his voice. User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

No worries! Powerful stuff, that video. looks like Andy was (or is?) in that band as well! thats interesting! I feel like ive heard the song before... hmm...

That's sort of. I say this not to be mean to FOB; when I first heard "Sugar, We're Going Down," i genuinely thought it was a joke song about cali pop-punk's accent and lack of enunciation

i don't hate them! i do think they're talented musicians. i'm not a fan of his voice, but that's a me thing. i can hear two similar artists, and like one over the other for minute details. i don't have a particular ear for music, even; i'm just disgustingly picky.

i listen to a lot of weird s**t no one likes, lol

my draw to a lot of artists - regardless of genre - is, "Hm, this sounds like nothing I've ever heard before. This is weird."

It's not a knock toward the artist; more an indictment to my lack of exposure, lol

i do like some bands they inspired, though.

like i love Action/Adventure

lmao! Yeah even he himself jokes about his enunciation. its definitely an on going joke over the years. Im obsessed with music in general, but vocals is definitely what gets me hooked the quickest/most.
for some reason Patrick's really did it for me when I was a teen and it stuck. User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. I can 100% understand why people dont like it though.
i love finding new music, and you just did that for me! I've never heard of Action/Adventure but I loved the song you linked! adore the call back to you're crashing but you're no wave omg.
i like the idea of being drawn to weird. never really thought about it from that angle before.

i love that curiosity you have, i don't see it often but that's just cause like... i don't talk to EVERY person and i can't read minds, lol

i was drawn to Sabrina Carpenter big time because while i understand the industry, the video for "Manchild" is both a clear love letter to film directors like Lynch, Robert Rodriguez, Tarantino, Ari Aster, etc

but i find very myopic things to latch on to sometimes. for me, i love pop music in general, but in the above song, there's this brilliant bit.

around 20 seconds in, it's set up like a classic pop song - when the funny guitar-wonking pops in, her voice by all historical pop norms should go up with the guitar, but the guitar goes up, then drops down with her voice. and that's not even recognizing how odd the cadence of the song is in general, and nevermind the video, which is awesome

i'm also a big zappa fan, so i'm also a big mike patton/devin townsend fan. Faith No More is probably my favorite band of all time and aside from the black artists that crafted punk, and by proxy pop-punk, FNM was originally fronted by Chuck Mosley of Bad Brains, who effectively ushered in nu metal, and Mike Patton's first debut with the band ("Epic" is the song. incredibly popular) solidified that legacy by making fun of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, whom i genuinely despise, and RHCP are often given the title of the progenitors of Nu Metal.
