Sade stretched as she looked at the time. The club didn't open for a few hours and she had a list of records she was looking for. Heading into the local record shop she hummed, she had several records that included Black Sabbath, Ozzy, Spice Girls, Simple Plan, and Prince. There were several other smaller indie bands and smaller artists that hadn't made it big yet.

She was browsing she'd also seen there was a suppose to a Jem and the Holograms record but those were suppose to be super limited edition and no release date that she knew of. She'd have to ask the clerks if they had any information on that record.

She was flipping through records humming as she flipped, occasionally slipping a record into her basket. Humming as she continued shifting through finding a special edition ABBA record. She was looking at the songs on it but the fact it was a special edition it didn't really matter what songs were on it.

There was a pause as she changed which rack she was looking at. She pulled out a blue man group and a couple of indie records from this area and slipped them into her basket. She looked at what she had and calculated with a soft frown. This was going to get expensive but she'd saved up some cash for this. She managed to find a few Black Sabbath records and she slipped a copy of each into her basket.

After she moved on to a different rack and started pulling out some random records some of them were old DDR tracks and some other techno records. Which were harder to find. She was looking at the condition of one of them and seemed curious as to the fact there might've been a few scratches but to be fair some of these were used.

She slipped those records into her basket and went for the Ozzy section and started riffling through and pulling out different copies of albums from his and then scuttling through a few of the racks beside the Ozzy section. She found a special edition purple rain record from prince and the fact it was see through and purple made Sade excited because she loved the see through records.

After counting up she made one more quick look through a few more racks pulling out a couple of lesser heard artists, a Dolly Parton record and then found some protective record sleeves she picked up for all the new ones she'd gotten. After all she had plans to use some of these in the club since she brought her own stuff to do the DJ gigs.

Sade paid for the records making a mental note she needed to pick up an extra side gig or two just to make sure she made back enough that the amount of records she bought wouldn't kill her budget. Thankfully she had insight to bring the gig van because there was no way any of this was making it home in a couple of plastic bags without the bags designating or getting so heavy she'd hate herself.

Sade stepped back and looked at her van, which was almost plain black with a couple of bumper stickers. "Maybe I should get you painted so you advertise for me." She said softly thinking about how much of a billboard the van could be. Though she'd need to find either a painter or maybe someone who did wraps.

She scratched her head thinking because either would work well but it depended really on what the cost was of having the van branded. Sade decided she had time though to stop off for a nice coffee and some snacks before she had to be at the club for the gig she was expected to play and took a detour over to the cafe her sister worked at.

Clearly Sable wasn't working today but that was fine. She dropped some cash down for a Chocolate Hazelnut Mocha and grabbed a coffee cake that had a ton of cinnamon crumble on it. She sighed wishing the coffee shop had bagels, she had a craving for an Asiago bagel that had baloney and lettuce on it. Which she didn't have time to go get that, so she decided to settle and see what the club had on the menu today.

She walked in the back door about an hour before show time and dropped her bags on the table where the dj booth was set up at. "Oi, Francie what you got to eat that's actually food?" She called as she headed towards the kitchen. Thankfully the club didn't open early so she had time to gear up and then do a sound check after she got some nibbles of food. There was a small frown when she saw it was largely just the typical finger sandwiches and charcuterie board. Apparently whoever booked the club tonight didn't think real food was needed with the booze. "Well I guess there goes that idea of a fancy meal."

She chuckled before nudging Francie who just glared at her, "It's a good job as always Francie, it looks delicious it just wasn't what I was hoping for." Sade settled for a sampler plate of a little of everything to go with her Mocha and she moved to the dressing room to do a quick change into her DJ outfit for the night and fix her hair up.

Once she snapped on her goggles she brought the rest of the plate and her half finished drink to the DJ booth and started the sound check.

"Hey Joe, let me know how it sounds in the back." She pulled out one of the new records and slide it onto the player and started spinning it, which so happened it was one of the DDR tracks, she paused with a thought when Joe gave a nod of approval and she pulled out one of the smaller indie artists and popped the record on to the second player and started playing them both, scratching the records to see how she could mix them.

She been given an order to mix and match styles that sounded fun. And there was a grin from the DJ when she was pretty sure she'd found a banger mix by putting castles in the sky with the indie artist. "I wonder who this is." She mused as she looked at the record and the name on it.

Sadly it wasn't anyone she recognized but she kept hoping one day she'd run into an indie artist that was from right here in Destiny City. That would be so cool to spin one of their records up.

When she finished the sound track she chilled with her boots on the table waiting for the party to start, just letting songs play normally until it was time to party. She had a pretty extensive library that if someone came and asked for a certain mix she was pretty sure she could accommodate it and with the fact she usually dug through record stores and thrift stores looking for the next big haul it was always a thrill of a hunt and at the end to see everyone having fun made all it worth the money she spent.

The night went without a hitch and she was having fun spinning up different mixes of DDR, Techno and songs you just wouldn't think would go together with those songs. On the last set Sade as DJ Frost Shock decided to slide on closing time and mixed it with cotton eye joe sped up to see who enjoyed that mix on the beat.

After the gig she was beat but grinning ear to ear. She was pretty sure everyone enjoyed the music choices even though they seemed a bit odder the normal and she didn't always mix her scratch tracks and normal tracks but it some how worked out.

On her way out the door she bid Joe and Francie a good night and sunk into the van seat after putting away her records in the back. She then pulled out a CD and dropping captain jack on the playlist while she drove back home. She needed enough energy to get home and upstairs for a nice bath before collapsing to watch whatever was on TV for an hour. Looking at the dasher app she ordered a half dozen Asiago bagels as a treat for having done a good job. She had things to put on them here, she was just glad the store wasn't but a few minutes away so that the dasher wouldn't take forever to get her the food she wanted.

After it was delivered she sunk into her bed deciding to watch a bit of a documentary on music after all it was one of her favorite topics. It didn't take long before she drifted off to sleep though, the day had certainly been busy.
