Unabashedly Honest - Recks has always been a very honest person, but as he grew, that honesty would become more less filtered and more brutal. Still, even if the truth hurts, you can count on the words coming out of his mouth being his honest feelings and/or view or opinion. Even if that honesty can get him in trouble, more often than not it is appreciated by those he's around. Often those we love will bend the truth so as to not hurt us - Recks has no such qualms. He believes that being honest with people, especially those he cares about, even if it's going to hurt them, is the right thing to do. And sometimes you need to lay down some brutal, harsh, truth to really help someone.

Hyper-Independence -
A Good Defence is Critical - Recks can be very critical of others, often in very petty ways. He will initially think pretty lowly of a person until they 'prove' themself to him, in whatever arbitrary way his mind makes up, and the bar of approval is always moving. Simply, he has continuously been let down by others he looked up to before, and won't allow himself to be so easily hurt again. By constantly moving the goal post, he can keep people at a distance -- or chase them off entirely when they inevitably give up on him. Just like he knew they would.
