Sarin was wandering again, his mind still on the conversation he’d had with the Nega lieutenant. He could see the other man’s side of the argument, a little too easily. And how many vigilante shows and movies has he watched? All of them about how police and the law don’t take care of people enough and leave people vulnerable to their attackers. Why would he think that didn’t apply to real life?
Had he been so blind? Was an agent of Chaos right and he was wrong? It was ******** with his head the more he thought about it, so he tried to shake his head to clear it. He should be focusing on patrolling and doing good for other people.
Dem had just nabbed another starseed to give to the negraverse as well as meeting his energy quota when he felt an order signature upcoming in his range of sense. The lieutenant stiffened a little, but kept walking. Maybe he would get lucky and they would be like Kemi? He didn't mind the alien senshi since she didn't attack him outright and they had a small conversion.
However, when the order signature started to feel familiar, he almost paused mid step. Great, it was the other senshi that had the ******** up sense of justice…The lieutenant kept walking, shaking his head when he saw the sight of red coming his way. “Dumbass….Might want to look up. If I was anyone else, you would've been on the floor already.”
He sighed softly and looked up. “I felt you coming,” he said, pushing a hand through his hair. And he’d won their last battle, even if it had ended up with them both walking away. “Why do you patrol alone, anyway?” He was just a lieutenant; they didn’t have much power at all, right? Though he supposed he couldn’t make a judgment after only having met him once. But the other man had definitely put his head in a tailspin as far as the difference between law and justice was concerned.
Yeah of course he did, just like he felt him as well. The question caused him to arch an eyebrow, “Easier that way. Don't have to worry about a partner trying to get in the way or relying on me to protect them when I'm just a lieutenant.” He was well aware of how powerless he was at this stage, the only thing he had going for him was the fact that he was ridiculously tall and fit for his age. He was barely able to fight and is currently going to the school of Damien [God it hurts, he understood how Cass got tough so fast], which was not something he enjoyed but at least he was learning.
“Why do YOU patrol alone? You look and seem like the type to want a robin side kick or something fancy like that.”
Yeah, that made sense. He rolled his eyes at the Robin sidekick comment. “Marvel over DC, man,” he muttered more to himself than anything, but it would have been loud enough for the other man to hear. Captain America had always been his hero, but the more he thought about it, Cap became disillusioned by laws and the government after a while. He thought about his answer, though, then shook his head. “No one to patrol with, really,” he said. He was sure if he asked that Aaru and/or Halicarnassus would let him tag along but then he would feel like a dumb little brother tagging along with the older kids and annoying the s**t out of them.
It was weird, having an actual conversation with someone on the other side and not fighting. Maybe things could be solved between factions if everyone just sat down and talked to each other.
Yeah, right. That one almost made him laugh out loud. He would have looked like an insane person but… almost worth it.
”Does it really matter? You would need something then, I don't know.” he gave the other a cheeky grin, then raised another eyebrow at the sudden laughing, “You good or did your delusions finally cause you to go insane?” He was ready to run just in case since he didn't feel like getting his a** handed to him again [There are exceptions to that rule though]. “Yolu mean to tell me you don't have anyone to patrol with? As much as I see you order people coming in twos?”
He shook his head. “Little bit of both, maybe,” he said, still smiling a bit. He snorted and shook his head again. “Half the time I’m seeing you guys in pairs.” He almost said that Order wasn’t as organized as they seemed, but that would be telling secrets to the enemy wouldn’t it? “You might be surprised. Or maybe you wouldn’t.” He shrugged and sighed.
Somewhere in his memories he seemed to recall patrolling with someone somewhat regularly, but he couldn’t see their face. Whatever. They hadn’t come forward after his accident so they must not have been that important to him. He didn’t know if it was his fault that he didn’t know more Order people or if that was an oversight on their part. Regardless, he really only knew a couple other Order folks.
Well, the guy was a rank above him so patrolling alone wouldn't be as dangerous for him. Dem figured that's what he would be doing when he upgraded eventually, patrolling alone just as he was doing when he was a lieutenant. Actually since this guy was order… “I know you said you patrol alone but have you encountered one of your own lately? Blonde hair, blue and purple color scheme with glowing blue tattoos? Looks like a circuit board?” Was he looking for that glowing goddess that beat his a**? Yes, yes he was. He wanted to see her again and see if he could get another adverse reaction to his flirting.
He found it highly entertaining and maybe he wanted her to knock him around a bit more…
No, he wasn't a masochist, but he would be for a day if it was her beating on him that much is for sure.
He arched a brow at the description of the person he was looking for. “Cant say that I have… They certainly sound interesting, though.” He shook his head a bit and grumbled. He needed to get this out, even if it meant he was admitting that he was wrong to an enemy. “Listen, I've been thinking about what you said the other day,” he started, watching the other man for his reactions. “And… I think you're right.” He said it fast, because he wanted it over with and because he hated to be wrong. He looked down at the ground and scuffed his boot over the dirt. “So you don’t have to worry about me attacking you on sight.” But if he was hurting someone innocent, then… “Unless I find you taking a starseed. I can’t condone that, no matter what kind of person it is.”
Damn. Maybe he would have to find that kid she was protecting…That seemed like a sure fire way to get a hold of her or at least run into her. What surprised him was the fact that the senshi admitted he was wrong, in a way. The fact that he said it quickly was entertaining, but it also meant that not all order were blind to the cause apparently. Well of course if he was taking a starseed then he wouldn’t be around for any senshi to catch him clearly. But the Captain America senshi in front of him wouldn't need to know that.
“You're allowed to do what you want. I can't make any promises about the starseeds. I hope you realize that.” He sighed and stretched, “I'm taking off Cap. Nice to have a decent conversation with you.” He walked away then so he could get started on the trek home.
Sarin shrugged when he refused to make promises about not taking starseeds. “You’re Chaos, I’m Order. I wouldn’t expect anything less,” he said. Maybe he should keep an eye out for this agent, considering he’d met him twice in such a little frame of time. Make sure to foil any plans that involve taking starseeds. “Yeah, yeah. See you around, I guess.” That was a weird encounter. But it was… enlightening? Once the agent was a ways away, Sarin turned around and headed for home himself.
