Tempesti and her wisp friend had taken to playing what might be considered a game during her agility training. At least she thought it was a game, the little entity wasn’t exactly the sort from whom the young senshi could expect answers. But it certainly seemed playful as it hovered in different spots, apparently waiting for her to chase it. Above a tree limb, atop a low building, in an ominous tunnel. Sentient or not it was an entertaining way to spend her patrols, even if the odd youma attack interrupted them on occasion.

At the end of one of the latter encounters, the youma dispatched to its home or the youma hospital or wherever they went after losing a fight, Tempesti found herself among a warren of unfamiliar streets. Single-minded pursuit of a youma was helpful in the moment, generally allowing her to ensure that no one else fell prey to its hunger, but this wasn’t the first time it had gotten her more than a little bit turned around. With her abilities she no longer feared the prospect of being accosted by a civilian, but she retained an intense dislike for disorientation.

Kiringul made a face at the small pile of dust that was his most recent youma encounter, a bizarre little imp of a creature that was intent on trying to jump on his head so it could potentially burrow into his brain. It had the teeth and claws and strength, if the downed tree just in his periphery was any indication, to do it, so he was quietly thankful that his horn kept it disoriented enough that, regardless of how close it managed to get to him, it never quite ever hit its mark.

"Another one–"

He cut himself off with a grimace, the words "dad joke" flashing in big, bright, blinding letters in the back of his mind and giving him the strength to not finish the sentence as he started to head home. About halfway there, he sensed an Order signature randomly on one of the streets off to his left, and it seemed to just...be standing there?

Which was concerning, to say the least. Not one to jump to the most morbid of conclusions, though, Kiringul pivoted left and started for it, relief immediately washing over him when he saw the senshi it likely belonged to just up ahead.

"Oh, thank god," he said on a heavy sigh as he closed the gap between them. "You good? I sensed you kinda just...there. Not moving. Thought I might have been coming up on a crime scene or something."

Okay, maybe he jumped to the most morbid of conclusions once in a while.

Tempesti sensed the Order energy signature before the sound of an unfamiliar voice broke the frustrated silence that accompanied her attempts to find a signal and turned to face an unfamiliar knight in a stunningly beautiful uniform. For a few seconds she wondered how the universe chose to assign outfits to each newly awakened soul. Briefly pondering the notion that the Galaxy Cauldron had aspirations in the field of fashion design, the senshi opted to set aside this decidedly irrelevant and admittedly silly train of thought.

“Oh, hello!” She gave the knight a slightly awkward wave as he approached. “I’m fine, I was chasing a youma. I dusted it, but I just got a bit turned around. A sheepish smile crossed her face at the admission. “Thanks for the concern though. I’m Sailor Tempesti. Are you the reason that other Chaos aura disappeared?”

"Kiringul," he said, still mostly relieved that he was making introductions rather than trying to figure out who to call to straighten out...

Well.

The Squire dismissed the incredibly morbid thought and focused on the conversation at hand, ultimately nodding his head to her question. "Yep. I don't know why it feels like there are more and more youma sneaking out and wreaking havoc these days. Smarter ones, too. Feels like I need more fight training, which," he paused and gestured to his uniform.

"Is a lot more challenging in this thing than it looks."

Tempesti nodded, “I know what you mean, plus the other things on top of the youma,” her eyes flicked unconsciously toward Harold’s prison, though she was at the point where she ranked the series of demonic chicken attacks she’d experienced recently just below apocalyptic storm dragons in terms of how troublesome they felt. The absurdity of the comparison made the whole thing feel a bit smaller, and her frightened mind would latch onto anything that might dampen the dread that had gnawed at her over the past few months.

“So I really understand needing more training. Fighting isn’t my favorite thing, but I’d rather do it myself than leave it to people who can’t.”

Looking his uniform over once more she continued, “It’s beautiful, but I can imagine it would be…bad for moving around in combat.” She opted against asking whether or not he had pants on under there. It would make it easier to suggest removing the robe, but she didn’t need this stranger getting the impression she was some kind of pervert. “Could you hitch it up and tuck it into your belt or something?”

The flicker of her eyes wasn't lost on him. It went skyward, and he felt a chill briefly run down his spine at the thought of the other thing she might have been mentioning. He cut the thought off there, knowing there was more there that he was still trying to work through. At least he didn't have to try and work through it alone anymore, though, which helped keep his mood buoyed.

"Yeah, I kinda feel the same. Better me than some soccer mom just trying to pick her kids up from practice or something."

Barring said soccer mom awakening, anyway, and even then it wasn't like a youma couldn't eat a clueless basic senshi or page for breakfast if it tried hard enough.

Regarding his uniform, the Squire sighed and made a face.

"Too much cloth," came his answer, but he started to pull up the length of his uniform and stuff it into his belt. He wound up looking even more ridiculous, with a thick layer of haphazardly bunched up cloth now wrapped about his waist, but this was strictly for demonstrative purposes so he didn't really mind.

Once all was said and done, he got into a sort of fighting stance.

"I feel like it's more of a distraction than anything," he said, cheeks starting to burn with his embarrassment, "but anyway. C'mon, I'll show you what happens when I try to fight like this."

Tempesti nodded, pleased that she and the knight were on the same wavelength, in terms of protecting civilians at least. “I know what you mean. I was lucky, well maybe ‘lucky’ isn’t the right word for it. But I was a civilian the first time I ran into a youma so it wasn’t an existential shock when I awakened the second time I saw one. A friend of mine dusted the first one, thankfully.”

She knew she was rambling, but she felt the need to give credit where it was due. A sympathetic smile creased the senshi’s face as Kiringul wrangled his uniform, she hoped he wasn’t too self-conscious about it. After all, it looked like it would probably give him the improved mobility he sought. His fighting stance confirmed her speculation and she felt increasingly aware of her own lack of training.

“So, should I just run at you?” Tempesti’s ears pinkened as she spoke, “I’m working on it, but I’m really not much of a physical fighter.”

He felt...well. Yeah, a little self-conscious, but he'd developed a thick enough skin that it didn't really bother him that much. A little bit of embarrassment was good for the soul. At least, according to his daughter, it was good for his soul. And his girlfriend had been dressing him up for cons for years (though they were friends for most of those years), so thankfully weird, sometimes hard-to-move-in clothes were something he was more used to than he cared to admit.

"Yeah," he said, making a gesture with his hands that mimicked (purely by chance) Neo from the Matrix. "Come at me."
