Personal Raincloud (11) : It’s a beautiful, sunny day in Destiny City–for everyone but you. There’s not a cloud in the sky–except for yours. No matter where you go, a dark cloud seems to hover, casting shadows wherever you go. It’s been raining since you woke up today, and it’s like bad luck and bad weather just follows you. It’s a constant downpour, always exactly where you are. The raincloud is usually big enough to easily cover a full building, so if you stick around for too long, your misfortune will turn into someone else’s too. The raincloud might follow you for a few hours or for the whole day before slowly fading; there’s no escaping it, or the strange, sombre mood that seems to follow you.

Keahi was headed out to work with plans to grab a coffee from the shop on the way to the weather station. There was a pause as he stepped out onto the stoop of the townhouse he lived in. Looking past the covered area he found it was raining. "Odd."

The man mused for a moment before turning around back inside to get his rain boots, coat and an umbrella that had a violet star charm attached to it. "There wasn't any signs of rain on the radars or anything in the forecast for today."

He stepped out now fully ready for the rain to realize it seemed to not be a huge rain cloud but it was large enough to cover a decent area. There was a curious move as he walked out past the stoop he believed he could out walk the rain cloud considering it wasn't very large. So he should in theory be able to continue to work in dry weather once he got past the perimeter of the storm.

As he walked, he noticed he wasn't getting anywhere, it seemed to continue to rain the same amount of space in front of him as behind him. He was tapping his chin as he looked around it also seemed the same size on the sides of him. "What is this?"

This defied all things that he knew about the science of weather. The rain shouldn't just follow someone. He decided well, clearly it was moving in the same direction he was. This had to be the reason it was staying up with him. Though even now it should keep moving... and he seemed no further either way from the center of this storm. He took a different path to the coffee shop.

When Keahi reached the coffee shop he looked at the time and mentally calculated how long it would take him to get to the studio. He still had time to get his coffee. Ironically as he stood in line everyone else seemed as shocked as he was it was raining. Hearing some comments like there wasn't a cloud in the sky and a couple of comments wondering who the storm was following this time.

That caught Keahi's attention as he waited for his coffee. He spoke with those couple of comments where he found out apparently there was a rouge rain cloud just following people around. He found this very interesting as that shouldn't happen at least not in normal weather patterns. That meant this had to be some sort of magical cloud right?

He was thoughtful and when he got his coffee and a piece of pound cake he thanked the barista and headed back out into the rain. He noticed it was considerably wetter here after the cloud having chilled and waited on him. But he was sipping on his coffee and walking towards the station. Seeming giving up on moving in different foot traffic patterns to see if this cloud was following him. Because the answer was simply yes it was.

A car passed through a puddle that had formed while Keahi had been waiting and he got drowned and had narrowly kept his coffee from becoming a casualty of the accidental tidal wave. His pants though, weren't so lucky. Since his rain coat and his rain boots left a gap.

He also found that the water had gone into his boots leaving him feeling soggier than he'd liked since he was going to work. He couldn't turn around and call it a day. There was a sigh and he continued to trudge to work.

"I need to research this on the radar. I wonder if they'll let me borrow one of the weather drone probes." Keahi wanted to see if he could figure out the science of the cloud even if it was magic to explain what was happening here. It seemed also that it would make a good story for the day. Why not warn people they may have a random unpredictable cloud pop up and follow them around all day??

When Keahi reached the station he stopped on the covered stairs to shake off his umbrella and his rain coat. Before heading in making sure his pound cake hadn't gotten ruined since he'd had it in the pocket away from the puddle attack. And was happy when it was still dry. He headed inside the studio to find the manager and speak to them about what he found and what he wanted to study.

Once he got cleared to do an hour study -- he walked outside and the storm cloud had, well moved on. "OH COME ON." He said. There was still evidence it had rained but, without the cloud he couldn't study it and try to gather more data. Maybe he could get a story out still and get some public help if more of the rain cloud popped up? He really wanted to study it but it seemed like today that wasn't going to happen. Keahi returned back inside to let the station manager know what happened and see what options he could leverage to try and still study this phenomena.

It took some explaining what he'd found out at the coffee shop. His own experience and some begging to convince the station manager to allow some amount of grace to study what was going on with the weather. The largest issue was that Keahi needed to find the next cloud if that was actually what was going on.

He had to figure out the easiest way to reach people to let him know when one of the clouds popped up. So he requested that the weather station post on social media about wanting to study this.

He made a draft had someone else look it over and once he was satisfied he went to the social media team for the station and asked them to post basically an advert asking for people to report strange clouds appearing for no reason and following them or someone else around. It took some convincing and the social media manager reaching out to the station manager about what Keahi was doing in order to get approval to post the drafted ad.

Keahi was really hoping this would help him locate another cloud or two to study and maybe give them some answers on what was going on inside of these clouds and how they formed.

Now Keahi just had to wait for someone to reach out.
