Quote: Poultrygeist (15) : As Destiny City is a bustling metropolis, it’s not unexpected that there should be some strange animals running the streets. Sometimes it’s a tiger, sometimes a monkey, sometimes a chicken. Sometimes it’s something worse. Strange egg clusters have appeared in Destiny City’s parks and officials aren’t really sure what they are; these eggs have nothing inside of them. Though it’s an anomaly, they are chalking it up to teenaged pranks. However, they have advised to just leave the eggs as they are. Nobody wants to say why, but if you’re out late at night, you’ll find out. In the darkness, whispered between the sounds of the city: a guttural, rasping cluck. The creature stands on stilt-like legs, rooted to the ground with razor-sharp talons. It wears a cloak of long, oily feathers that drag on the ground with a sinister scraping. If you stare into the darkness, piercing red eyes stare back at you. That’s all it takes for a confrontation: a mangled bird, maybe a chicken in another life, comes barreling out at you. It stands easily as tall as a person, but the proportions are all wrong. The smell of sulfur follows it as it lunges, pecking and screaming and scratching as it attempts to chase you away. Maybe, from the nests full of empty eggs. The battles are fierce, but fleeting; it will viciously try to chase you away but the effects are always the same: at some point, the eggs are crushed. As always, there’s nothing inside of them, but with one final wail, the bird will vanish into a plume of foul smoke. Note: If you choose to encounter one of these bird-like creatures, your character will recognize they are not youma. It is impossible to tell if it is a single entity or if there are many. The bird does not seem to understand or care to listen to human words. It will always disappear in a malodorous plume of smoke and leave nothing but a foul odor and a clutch of empty, broken eggs behind. This RP can be used as a battle requirement as long as there are two powered characters involved; you must be interacting with another player’s powered character. This does not count as the one youma battle per stage for growth so characters can still use an NPC youma battle as well as this one for growth purposes. This can only be used as a battle requirement once per character, but there is no limitation for how many times a player can use this prompt. Out once more, to gather another charm if he could manage as well as grab more energy for his quota, Okenite remained cautious as ever. Each time he felt even the hint of a signature, he tried to duck and hide somewhere in the trees or down an alley out of sight. It worked for a while as he wandered the path he had not too long ago. Part of him wondered if he might see Hedwig again, even if the last time had been an accident. A few orbs had been carefully put away into subspace, and he managed to get one more charm from a stall as he went. At first, they had been accidental as well but then it became more of a collector mindset for him. Especially after how Aiolos had reacted from him gifting her one. Maybe he should try to find more things to gift her, but that thought was cut off as something that smelled worse than death punched him in the face. Coughing and gagging, he looked down at the crushed egg beneath his foot, it was empty, probably a stink bomb, but he didn't hear any kids around laughing for him falling for it.

Hedwig had been out gathering energy, because of course he was, he was trying to not upset Dessire and he knew that by not going out during starfest and taking advantage of it he would upset her. This was the perfect time to gather energy, lots of people shopping at the various stalls, so he'd hidden in some trees again and let his wraith out to do it's thing. At least he didn't need to get personally involved in energy gathering, he didn't want to get close to people and risk being hit or something.
Figuring he was safe he'd gotten comfortable where he was, there were no fireflies to bother him tonight, but it seemed his comfort was about to be targeted as a rotting egg smell hit the air. He could see other people reacting, making faces and covering their noses, there were sounds being made by some of the people as well as soime leaving the stalls. How terrible it all was. It was taking away targets from him and that he didn't like. Rather than power down though, because he really didn't want to get himself involved in things, Hedwig kept to his hiding spot to see what would happen next. He'd been hearing the same rumors as many other people about the eggs...and something was going to happen - he knew it.
Soon enough he heard what sounded like it might have once been a bird, a chicken maybe even, and it was loud and had some people moving to escape the creature. He couldn't see it, not yet anyway, but he could certainly hear it.

Looking around as some of the crowd further back had scattered, he saw a hint of a wraith and looked up towards the trees and wondered if Hedwig was in one. It was hard to tell honestly, but for now, he had to figure out what was going on. Crouching down, he looked at the broken egg in confusion. It wasn't plastic; it looked mostly normal aside from the horrible smell. Pinching his nose as he looked it over, he couldn't really figure it out until he noticed another one further ahead peeking out from the grass. It was barely noticeable, vanishing as he stood back up, and the grass seemed to cover it from that point of view. So a ground nester.... but he'd never seen an egg that empty before, maybe without a yolk but not without well... anything inside. Stepping forward, he had his briefcase in hand just in case he might need to put it between him and some angry bird. As soon as he got close to the egg, he noticed a few others, and then something shifted and he heard the sound of a clicking beak as the taller grass moved. Snapping up, he looked back towards the trees. "Hedwig?!"

Perking up as he heard his name called, a familiar voice, he at least knew who owned that energy signature. Jumping down he landed with a jolt, getting up into a tree was far easier than getting down, and made his way towards the figure that he spotted.
"Monster chicken." Appeaing in front of the other, as quickly as he could, he moved to pull him away from what he was inspecting. "Keep away from those eggs." Because the mother was coming, and was really close, he'd heard enough about them to know they were dangerous and large. "The mother is here and she's pissed." He said while tugging on the other to get them moving. "Unless you want to deal with a very large chicken you need to move." Urgently tugging on the other to get them moving, before it decided to attack them both, he didn't know why he was going out of his way and ricking himself but he was - damn it.
"How can you even stay here with the smell?" It was enough to drop a person, he was certain of it, and yet they were both still standing...but he had heard and seen people gagging.Someone might have been puking even, someone who maybe had a really sensitive nose.

Monster chicken? What? Looking between the senshi and... yes. A monstrous chicken, he hit the thing with his briefcase as they tugged on him. Stepping over and around the eggs as he tugged him more, he started moving. "Okay, no loitering near the thing. Makes sense." Especially, if this had been the nest and they'd stomped all over it. Shaking his head as he moved with them and tried to put more distance between them and the thing, he looked up as they questioned him. "Oh... I have worked with birds my whole life and have smelled far worse."

Why did they hit the damn thing? The idea of provoking a chicken, or any sort of bird, that was nearly as tall as an adult human just struck him as stupid. For a moment he felt the urge to smack his head on something, face palming was the thought which went through his mind, but he did nothing about the thought...didn't act on it. Instead he continued tugging the other away till they were, he assumed and hoped, a safe distance from the mess.
"Those eggs have been popping up all over the city. The mother, I'm going to assume it's the mosther anyway, is not hapopy when anyone gets near the damn eggs." Though why she was leaving them all over the place was beyond him, it felt a bit like a trap being set so she had an excuse to attack people, it did seem a bit reckless for a mother bird to leave her eggs all around. But he also knew that nothing about this was normal...this was all magic, somehow, maybe this bird was from somewhere else and nto of Earth even. How she got here, with her eggs and nest, was beyond him though.
"Good to know...let's hope we don't suffer anything worse smelling. While you might handle it most won't." Including himself.
