Quote:
The Fireflies (6) : In the warm summer nights, little glowing lights begin to bob and dart through the city. Fireflies are mating, so this isn't uncommon in itself; in the past few days you've probably seen hundreds of fireflies. What makes these lights so unique is that they seem to change color; you might see a blue one, a green one, a red one. They flicker randomly, and something just seems off with them. If you come into contact with one, you will find yourself with a strange electric jolt. They cannot be caught, and will flicker away if you pursue too aggressively. This isn't the first time they've appeared in Destiny City, but no one's been able to tell where they came from or where they're going. No matter how quickly you chase them, they always seem to disappear before you can find any answers.

After the magical excitement so far this summer, Florian was relieved to see that the most recent plan that Angel had didn't need either of them to be powered up or even dressed up really. Part of him wondered if this was supposed to be a date date, since they weren't exactly dating, but he couldn't exactly say what they were just yet, since he was still trying to figure things out, and it seemed like he needed more time than they did.

At least that didn't seem to bother Angel, and it made Florian a little less anxious about it all. He hadn't had great luck with relationships before things had changed and after... Well, after he hadn't tried to approach anything remotely looking like one while he worked towards feeling more comfortable as he was. His family was supportive, but that didn't mean everyone else might be, so he kept things quiet.

Shaking his head, he locked up the shop and headed home to shower and pull a brush through his hair again. It was getting long, but at least it was finally evening out and not as dead as it had been. Deciding on something a bit more comfortable and less work adjacent, he pulled on another cozy and loose-fitting cardigan over a simple shirt and some creme colors slacks. Once he wrangled his hair back under control and pinned part of it back and up in a half bun, he texted Angel the address to meet him here as he sat at the kitchen table and pondered over things.

Dating in a typical sense was new to Angel. Sure, he had gone out for food and whatever, but that was simply a precursor to usually ending up in bed with whoever he had his eyes on. This? Going out and taking his time and actually getting to know someone? It was completely new.

He could tell Florian was nervous, that he was uneasy at times and hesitant, but somehow that just made him want to try harder to win the boy's trust. It made him care more about the effort he put in and care more about Florian in general. He felt incredibly drawn to him, loving it ever time he earned one of those smiles from him or made him laugh. Maybe they might not be officially a couple, but god did he want to be.

Angel had, for once, scrubbed any trace of paint off his skin and made sure his hair was free of it too, pulling his messy dark hair up into a half ponytail after showering before putting on a pair of charcoal colored slacks, a decent shirt, and an olive green cardigan. He wanted to look presentable this time, rather than looking like he fell asleep on a paint palette. Which frankly, he had done more than once. Checking himself over in the mirror one more time, he checked his phone and smiled at the message before heading out.

It didn't take him long to get to Florian's, having opted to drive for once rather than walk. Walking would have been fine for himself, but he wanted to treat Florian to a relaxing evening, and walking to the other side of town for this would likely not fall into that category. Getting out of the car, he double checked the address before coming up to knock on the door. He practically vibrated as he waited for Florian to answer, chewing the inside of his cheek. When the door opened, his eyes lit up and he grinned at him. "Hey, ready to go?"

While he wasn't sure how long it would take Angel to get to his home, it had felt like a bit too long as he sat there and kept fiddling here and there with his outfit and hair. More than once, he stood in front of the mirror and bent or moved to make sure that he looked okay with the outfit. While he didn't need to wear a binder anymore, he still felt uncomfortable if things clung too close to his body.

Hearing the knock downstairs, he cast one last glance at the mirror before grabbing his bag and hurrying down the stairs to the front door. It took a moment for him to slide into his shoes and grab one of the scarves he'd crocheted to help tie his outfit together. Opening it up, he smiled slightly as he saw Angel outside, for once devoid of paint, which he found surprising.

"Yeah, are we going to walk? It's not too far or..." Leaning slightly to the right, he saw the car in the driveway and nodded. "That works too, I think it's free parking. At least I think it is at night this time of year."

Stepping out onto the foyer, he closed and locked the door behind him before turning back to look at Angel. "I hope it wasn't too hard for you to find my place. I know it's a bit tucked away since it's my family's home."
