(( Characters: Morgan (Beatrix), Omen, Kailynne (Meissa) // Sara Draconia & tefla ))

With all the weird weather going on, Morgan wasn’t sure if everything was all good or bad vibes right now with the city and the Negaverse. She had heard that there was an update on stuff from Laurelite, but outside of that, she didn’t really check her tablet. It still had sort of a crack in it from when she’d gotten into that fight with the b***h of a senshi a while back before she’d gotten Meissa on over to her side of things.

Groaning as the bundle of fluff in her arms complained and wiggled to escape, she cursed and shushed them. “Hey, shut it, you. I’ll feed ya the good stuff after, okay? Whatever ya want from doordash or some s**t. Just gotta do the thing that Kioshi said to ‘kay?”
*
Wiggling in the goth girl’s arms, Omen didn’t appreciate being cathandled by anyone, not even Kioshi or Lorcan really. This lady was bad news, and Kioshi had said for him to be on his best behaviour, but she really was messing up his fur every which way.

“Then stop messing my fur uppppppppppppppppp,” he whined before stilling at the mention of anything he wanted from the great delivery service humans had come up with. That kept him quiet as the woman carried him into an apartment building not too unlike what Kioshi had lived in until recently.

Kioshi had told him the gist of what to do and had gone with him to get some sort of crystal thing from the boss man that had brought him in. He still didn’t like them really, too many rules and tasks they wanted him to do when all he wanted was to lay around like he always had before.
*
Pushing open the door after juggling the furball around to get the keys into the lock, Morgan called out to her roommate before shutting the door behind her and setting the giant mass of fluff down. She couldn’t believe this cat was less than a year old, he was fat and really fluffy, way bigger than the mauvian who had helped with her promotion.
---
Kailynne heard the door opening and closing before hearing Morgan calling out for her. Taking her sweet time would have been amusing but she was curious as to why she was being summoned. Usually Morgan had no reason to seek out where she might be and that was fine. Rising from the bed in her room the young woman glanced at her reflection in the mirror that she’d bought herself before exiting the room in order to see just what it was that Morgan wanted from her. Upon entering the main living room space though, Kailynne was surprised to see the rather impressive sized cat that was struggling to get out of the grip that her roomie had on the animal. Chuckling softly, more to herself than anything, she whipped out her phone in order to snap a picture of the moment before locking the screen and approaching the pair.

“What’s up Mor? And who’s this handsome stranger?”

Taking a moment to allow the cat to sniff her fingers if it chose to do so, Kailynne reached out to gently scratch at the cat’s ears. The way that the animal was squirming to try and extricate itself had Kailynne sighing, “Mor, maybe you should put the cat down. It doesn’t appear like they want to be held,” she paused before putting a finger to the side of her mouth in thought, “why do you have a cat anyways? I thought this place had a strict no animal policy.”

---
Holding up Omen like a prize fish for Kailynne to take a picture of, she then sighed and set them down. “Well, figured since things are going well, I asked the boss lady about a promotion for you. Since like Chrys had done for me, I figured it was sort of a I go ask sort of thing yanno? Asked my tattoo artist about a furball since that whole hand in chest thing isn’t everyone’s vibe.” Looking away for a moment, she wasn’t going to even bring attention to the fact that was her M.O. when it came to fighting and gathering energy.

“Plus, they won’t notice stuff and he can like cover us if we wanna teleport him out after so no chance for him to get seen probably yanno?” Waving things off, the details never mattered as much as long as stuff kept moving along without causing too much trouble.
*
Bristling and shaking out his fur as Morgan set him down, he looked up at the other woman who seemed to at least be less rude so far. “I’m hyper…. No… uhhh errr… hypo? Allergenic? Lorcan says no allergies anymore, so probably not an issue for a place.” Not that he cared, rules weren’t going to keep him out of a building even if he didn’t want to be here anyway.

Swishing his tail as he circled the other girl, he didn’t feel like they were too bad so far. At least Kioshi hadn’t said anything about her other than to be on good behaviour around Morgan. Which he could kind of guess why as he noticed an awkward pause in the air at the mention of a hand in someone’s chest. He hadn’t liked that either to be honest, so Kioshi and Katya had given him a paper with instructions on things.

Plopping down, he pulled that paper out and the crystal and looked it over before looking between the two women. “I just do what it says and then it's food time right?” Focusing on dinner more than whatever promotion was apparently supposed to go on. He didn’t really care about it, didn’t really want to do it to be honest, but he really wanted to try a new place to eat that didn’t deliver to where he lived with Kioshi and Lorcan.
---
Kailynne couldn’t help but stare at Morgan. She’d gone to ask on her behalf for a promotion? Besides helping out at the opening of Lumina, what else had she done that was worthy of being singled out like this? Her gaze went back down to the cat in question before she sighed. At least the cat seemed more comfortable on the ground than in Morgan’s arms. Crouching down to stare at the paper and the strange crystal that had appeared seemingly out of nowhere (she knew better) did Kailynne merely seat herself cross-legged on the floor before reaching out once more to gently run her fingers through the cat’s fur.

“I don’t think being hypoallergenic is your name though. Do you have a name that people call you? I’d like to address you by that name if you’d allow it.”

Casting her gaze up to Morgan did Kailynne give her roommate a pointed look. She wasn’t sure if she should be grateful that Morgan had approached the higher ups of the Negaverse in regards to a promotion but she wouldn’t turn away a chance for more power if it would aid her in the future. “Can I inquire as to what was said in this talk behind a promotion? I don’t believe I’ve earned one yet but maybe I’m stubborn and need convincing.”

Watching the cat shuffle his papers she made a motion to reach out to touch the crystal before she stopped herself. It probably was for the best if she left the Mauvian to his own devices but she did find herself addressing him once more, “is there anything you need from me for this promotion to take?”

---
Squatting down and then plopping onto the floor behind the massive black furball, she peeked over the notes and squinted at the all too neat and fancy script it was written in. It didn’t look like her tattoo artist’s handwriting, so it must be another mauvian or maybe Hessonite? Though she felt it looked too delicate to be the redhead’s hand.

Blinking at Kailynne, Morgan shrugged for a moment before scratching at her head. “You don’t really get into trouble yanno and with all these bad vibes with the weather and how you’re doing good with the quotas, I figured you were doing a lot better than the other’s I’ve seen at Eternal yanno?” She’d seen some that barely did anything, just holed up in their offices doing nothing she could tell was productive. There were enough of them, she knew from experience, since her own general or whatever they had actually been back when she’d awakened, had just left her without as much as an introduction or tutorial on what she was or what she was supposed to do.

Shifting slightly, she was still not used to the fact that she was supposed to manage someone else in a way; it had never exactly been something she’d figured she would do, but it wasn’t like she didn’t like the situation. It felt nice, having someone around who seemed to at least sort of get her. And maybe she had been getting better about putting more thought into what she did, getting better at scattering out where she starseeded people and drained more than she was starseeding in the past.

“I know that with this weird and super like really bad vibe I’ve been getting through the chain of command, I feel like you would be safer with a promotion and it would give those order assholes another reason to not give you trouble. Like… I don’t trust this working together with the stick up their a** knights.” That and knowing that all those feathery princesses or whatever would be there didn’t make her feel any better about not having every boost to help if it boiled down to a fight. She didn’t get the politics, never had, but she didn’t need to. Falling silent, she sighed and went to pet the furball as well, even if she didn’t quite like the things since the one that had found her had left her behind as well.
*
Looking at the bluenette, he blinked for a moment as he processed the thought. “Oh uh yeah. Omen!” Piping up as the woman pet him, he leaned into it and squished his face into her hand. At least this one was nicer, which meant maybe he would get some good scratchies in during this whole thing.

Letting Morgan talk about things, he finished refreshing himself on the little guide from Katya and settled down with a little more focus. It sounded big, this whole thing that was going on. He’d sort of noticed it from Lorcan and Kioshi, a lot more time spent at the blonde’s place rather than his owner’s place. It was just in the background for him, not something he really worried about exactly outside of if his two humans were going to be home to feed him.

“So I have to use this crystal thingy on your henshin,” hesitating on the word as he spoke it, not sure if he’d said it exactly right, “and then when you say the magic words, it should take. At least that’s what Katya said, and she’s done a bunch of these things.” The russian blue had apparently been at this for a decade, something that felt like an eternity to the kitten as he thought about it. Boy, he really didn’t want to have to do this for his whole life. Wasn’t there a retirement plan or something like what Lorcan talked about with that other, not quite but sorta looking like Lorcan look-alike, person?
---
Kailynne sighed. What else could she do? Morgan had stuck her neck out for her it seemed in regards to selling her good points to those in charge. She wouldn’t let her roommate down and refuse the extra power that came with getting promoted. However was she truly ready for the responsibility that came with an increase in rank?

“Well, it seems that you’ve been keeping me under closer scrutiny than I realized. I can’t disagree with any of the points that you made but I just don’t know if I feel like I’m ready for things.”

Scooting a little closer to the Mauvian, Omen, Kailynne gently ruffled the cat’s fur before listening to what processes needed to be taken care off before the upgrade happened. Her eyes showed interest even as she brought out her henshin pen to present it to Omen to work whatever changes needed to be made.

“I’m glad to meet you, Omen. Thank you for the services that you are providing me with today.”

Kailynne’s gaze sought out Morgan’s own before she pursed her lips. It took her a moment or two to process everything and she relaxed as she turned her gaze to watch Omen out of the corner of her eye. There was a moment of simply observing before she once more caught Morgan’s eyes. She silently mouthed the phrase, “thank you” to her roommate as Omen continued to work.

---
Omen… well she could get behind that name, it had the right kind of vibe to it. But that thought passed out of her mind just as quickly as it appeared when Kailynne brought things up.

“Gotta make sure you’re all good yanno? There’s a lot of crazy stuff going on, even more than normal and you wanna be ready to beat up anyone that wants to start s**t.” With a wide smile she watched Omen fiddling with things, she knew how this part worked, even if the fluffball didn’t.

It was weird to see one that didn’t know what was going on, had the system failed them too? Or what was it… Kioshi said something about them being new so maybe they didn’t come out all super smart right out the gate.
*
Fiddling with the crystal and the pen, he watched as it blinked and flickered for a bit before dimming. Something about it charging the pen but he didn’t understand all the technical parts of the notes. Katya seemed more about the honor and responsibility of things, which didn’t seem to have a place here from what he was hearing but it wasn’t his business as long as he got food.

Purring a bit more at the compliment from Kailynne, he let the spent crystal roll away, trying to fight the urge to bap it around like the toys Kioshi had been getting him. The shiny ones that crinkled were his favorite, they were fun to kick at and send lil bits of shiny whatever it was made out of all over the kitchen floor.

“Okay… it should be good now. I think you just wave it and power up and it should work? I can do the thing….” Trying to remember what Katya and Kioshi called it, his face scrunched up. “Keep you hidden, I forget the word.” It was a learning process but figuring things we done, he turned his eyes on Morgan and glared.

“I want K-BBQ.”
---
Kailynne watched in silence as Omen worked on her pen. Her gaze flicked over to Morgan as the other spoke before a sigh erupted. The additional power would probably be useful but Kailynne didn’t relish tangling with Order as much as her roommate did. It was her approach to be the one that studied things from the shadows, learning how things worked instead of engaging with one’s fists. It was a much safer approach and it also kept her out of trouble. She’d done that a few times on her patrols with the Dullahan senshi. Studying went a long way to hone her own techniques in order to meet her quota requirements and while it was fun to mess with people, Meissa found that a simple “get in and get out” approach worked better in most scenarios.

The rolling of the crystal away from Omen broke the woman’s concentration and Kailynne reached out to take back the pen from the Mauvian. It didn’t quite look the same as it had before Omen had started tinkering with it but it also didn’t appear as if much had changed either. Picking it up Kalli swore she could feel it humming and she glanced over at Morgan as if seeking approval to transform in the apartment. Even with Omen’s word that he could mask her auric signature, she still wanted to have it be okay with her roommate.

At Morgan’s nod the young woman closed her eyes. While she didn’t wave her henshin pen around she did tap into the energy that seemed to be emanating from the object before speaking what she knew in her heart to be the correct transformatory phrase. Seconds later, when everything was said and done, Meissa stood before Morgan and Omen before she took in the new length of her hair and the additional changes that had been made to her powered look. Namely what appeared to be two leathery black wings sticking out from her lower back and she lowered the hand not holding onto her pen to flick the new additions before contemplating the increase of power which flowed through her. Turning to face Morgan the newly made eternal senshi grinned before she had to ask, “so how do I look?”

At Omen’s insistence that he wanted a specific type of BBQ Meissa glanced down at the Mauvian before she kneeled to gently ruffle the feline’s ears. She wouldn’t pick him up unless he allowed her to but she could shower him with praise and attention. “Thank you Omen. I think we owe you a large meal after this.”

---
Watching as her roommate powered up Morgan clapped excitedly. “Bitchin! The wings look good on ya.” Keeping a bit quieter on the second part even though she figured the fluffball could at least hold up on keeping things on the down low like they said. It was neat seeing it from an outside perspective honestly, she’d just been like bam powered up and none the wiser of the differences aside from the mask until patrol later on.

“Lookin’ like someone not to mess with too.” Nodding as she decided to also pet Omen, she pulled her phone out to start looking through the places to order from. There was more than enough money in the account for it, especially once she figured out there had been money being put in her account for years while she’d been living on cash and robbed funds.

“We’re gonna eat so much that even with the added strength none of us are gonna be able to get off the floor yanno?” Laughing as she started adding things to the cart with directions from the black mauvian, she was glad they weren’t being all huff and puff about responsibilities and how things were supposed to be, and listening to all of those in the chain of command. It was dry and boring.

At least now things would be smooth sailing, and she was sure Hessonite and Chrys would be proud of all the work they’d put in.

Omen hadn’t really seen anyone aside from Kioshi power up so for a moment he was staring before he blinked and nodded. The urge to bap at the long hair was as strong as ever but he knew nobody appreciated that and Kioshi warned him frequently about it.

“Looks like it worked.” Which he was more relieved about for his own sake than either of the girls here. But when the food menu came up and he got pets as a reward, he cozied up between them and helped add to the quickly growing order. He was going to eat well, that was for sure.
