Hated Food: Cooked vegetables. They’re fine when they’re cooked in something, but as a side she’d rather eat them raw with some sort of dip.

School/Occupation: Knightside Elementary, 1st Grade

Hobbies:

Athletics - Elsie loves a good physical activity. Her favorite by far is dance; she’s taken classes for ballet and tap since she was a toddler and recently added jazz and contemporary to her roster. During springtime she plays on a coach pitch baseball team after having worked her way up from t-ball. More recently her parents enrolled her in self defense classes, which Elsie likes just fine even if it’s not her favorite. Occasionally she thinks about joining a cheer team, but her parents think she already has enough activities to keep her busy, so she’d have to give up one of the others to make it happen. Elsie also enjoys swimming and wants to give gymnastics a try the first chance she gets.

Crafts - Colored pencils, markers, crayons, paint, glitter and glue, Elsie loves a craft. Macaroni or popsicle sticks, construction paper or coloring books, beads or yarn, it doesn’t matter the medium, Elsie will do her best to make something out of it. She has all sorts of craft kits and art supplies to keep herself entertained, from making her own kite to designing bracelets for her friends. Her favorite gifts to give are hand made by her. She’s very thoughtful about it. She’ll even make sure she knows your favorite color beforehand!

Virtues:

Helpful - Elsie is at her best when she can help someone. She loves to offer encouragement and support, especially when it’s requested but also sometimes when it isn’t even sought after. She is cooperative with her classmates and often assists her teachers and other responsible adults in her life without having to be asked first. Elsie looks after her friends and offers whatever guidance or advice they might need. Whether the advice she gives is good or not remains to be seen. Hey, it’s the thought that counts!

Idealistic - Having grown up under very privileged circumstances, Elsie has an idealized view of the world. She’s an optimistic girl with a rosy outlook on life, rarely without hope and a sunny disposition. Negativity doesn’t roll right off of her, but she tends to overcome it with persistence and an accompanying smile (even if it might come after a good cry). She sees plenty of good in the world, and in other people; sometimes all they need is to be reminded that they have the capability, and Elsie is more than happy to do the reminding.

Flaws:

Obstinate - Elsie likes to do things her way. She also likes when other people follow suit. Her way may not be the best, but it’s what she knows. Elsie is a determined girl, which makes her stubborn, which can make her adamant and occasionally inflexible. She thinks very highly of the people she loves, to the point that she thinks they can do no wrong, and she won’t hear a word to the contrary. Elsie can be disobedient and argumentative when crossed. The phrase “You’re not my mom” gets plenty of use from her.

Naive - Elsie’s idealized view of the world can sometimes get the best of her. Life has been good to her, so it should be good to others. She doesn’t always understand why that isn’t the case. She doesn’t always see it either. Elsie is too trusting in the idea that good will always win over evil. She wants life to be kind to her, and to the people she cares about, and even to those she doesn’t, and she thinks with enough help and hard work she can make that happen. Being told otherwise can trigger denial. As far as Elsie is concerned, the truth is what she makes it.
