The Fireflies (6) : In the warm summer nights, little glowing lights begin to bob and dart through the city. Fireflies are mating, so this isn't uncommon in itself; in the past few days you've probably seen hundreds of fireflies. What makes these lights so unique is that they seem to change color; you might see a blue one, a green one, a red one. They flicker randomly, and something just seems off with them. If you come into contact with one, you will find yourself with a strange electric jolt. They cannot be caught, and will flicker away if you pursue too aggressively. This isn't the first time they've appeared in Destiny City, but no one's been able to tell where they came from or where they're going. No matter how quickly you chase them, they always seem to disappear before you can find any answers.

The fireflies - he hated the fireflies. He’d already dealt with them once this summer and he was not interested in dealing with them again. The only issue was that they were impossible to avoid, they were nearly as prevalent as normal fireflies in the summer. It made it nearly impossible to miss them and every
time one got too close he was jumping back, trying to avoid being zapped, he was certain he looked ridiculous trying to avoid them as he moved through the park trying to dance around and between the oddly colored insects. Why was it that this city found the need to be special, to go big with the magical chaos, he’d say it was getting boring in that it was predictable…but the magic and what it produced kept things from getting too boring.

Yelping as he backed into another one he jerked forward and hurried his pace, cursing this city not for the first time, he was getting tired of this city and being stuck here. He could only hope that at some point he’d impress his grandfather enough that he’d be allowed back home, that he could escape this chaotic city. He knew he had a duty, though it seemed to be lesser than the Negaverse’s senshi had, but there was still a duty according to Dessire and he knew it. He knew his lack of dedication to this duty bothered her, annoyed her even perhaps, it was why he never mentioned how much he wanted to escape this city.

Worse was somewhere deep down, in the back of his mind, he had a feeling he’d wind up remaining in this city and that he’d only manage trips back home to France. He was going to wind up sucked into this all and sticking around, it was just a feeling, and it had nothing to do with any friends or acquaintances he had in this city.

Another yelp, and he tripped this time, as he was lost in his thoughts. He really couldn’t help but get lost in his thoughts though, who wouldn’t if they were in his position? This wasn’t something he’d known about before coming here and he’d had no choice in coming here anyway, so even if he knew about all this madness he couldn’t avoid it, and now he was stuck and he hated that feeling…that bone deep knowing was bothersome. He didn’t like having things decided for him, he liked to just go and do what he wanted when he wanted, it was what got him in trouble with friends and others in the past.

Sighing, a rather drawn out sound, his fingers raked through his hair as he continued Hedwig was seriously considering going home for the night - calling it early. Maybe he could meet up with someone tomorrow night and do some proper energy gathering? Something Dessire would appreciate, he didn’t want to anger her…really he didn’t. He just…this was more than he liked to commit to.

Another sigh as he turned and headed elsewhere, where he knew a mirror was hidden, as he planned to get closer to home so he could power down and get home for some sleep. “******** summer…at least it’s better than fall and winter.” Grumbling as he continued towards the nearby mirror. Fall and winter he was already dreading, even as another zap was felt.
