Under Construction (9) : Construction in Destiny City is a constant; it is never surprising to see buildings come and go. However, almost overnight it seems as though a large project has suddenly come to life. Where there was once an abandoned strip mall and a sad, trash laden park, the ground has now been completely bulldozed. There's no information about this project available in any media outlets or online, and all attempts to research it result in dead ends. A large fence has been put up, but twelve feet of wire isn't enough to keep out anyone curious enough to investigate. Cameras are set up all over the place and there is a strange, almost magical energy. The space is large enough to be a theme park. Strangely, frosted glass stars in an array of colors can be found randomly across the lot. Someone obviously has big plans for this space already, some strange, fantastical buildings are going up. The space feels strangely large, and once you have jumped the fence it feels like Destiny City is a world away. The sky seems brighter and the city lights seem far away, almost as though there is some strange barrier separating the construction zone and the rest of the city. And, oddly enough, if you are standing outside the fence and looking into the construction zone, everything appears blurry and it's hard to make out the details. It's strange, for sure, but nothing seems wrong about it. Yet.
Honkzilla
Labradorite stretched as she stood on the other side of the fence, she wanted to see what lay on the other side of the strange barrier. The cameras that were set up wasn't enough to keep her out and after she stepped back she took a running start and vaulted over the fence.
Landing softly on the ground on the other side, she stood up looking around. There was an eerie silence on this side, as if the hustle and bustle of the city was a world away. The lieutenants eyes narrowed as she looked around it almost felt like it could be an amusement park but it was missing stuff. The sky was brighter here, clearer like you could see more stars and as if the pollution was missing.
She moved carefully looking at the weird frosted glass stars that were colorful. It was almost like they had taken the stars from Animal crossing and dropped them here. Or at least that's what it made her think of. "Interesting."

Tempesti’s previous attempt to explore the strange construction site met an unfortunate end at the hands of that sword-wielding Negaverse officer and she hoped sincerely that she would be able to investigate this strange magic in peace. The little lavender wisp that had made itself a near constant companion during her recent patrols had taken to floating just above her head, as though using her hair as a convenient seat. As far as she could tell it didn’t have the physical mass to actually sit on her, and it flitted away from any efforts to test that hypothesis, but if nothing else it certainly seemed to enjoy the pantomime.
As it had before, passing over the construction site’s fence threw her briefly into a state of disorientation before her feet hit the ground. OK, so far so good. No one came charging with her at a sword so it was already an improvement over last time. Reassured that she most likely wasn’t about to be ambushed, she made her way over to the cluster of buildings that had caught her attention a week or so earlier. The wisp, apparently having grown bored with her hair darted ahead and into one of the partially finished structures.
Labradorite felt an energy signature appear she looked around the area. It had to be on the opposite side from her. She moved swiftly towards it. Curious because it felt like order. Maybe she could pull some energy from this person?
She paused using the statues and random bits of construction debris as cover to try and sneak up on the other.
Granted the more she thought about it, the more she hoped there wasn't any sort of weapons the other one had. Hers was fairly useless -- what was she going to do? Throw the poster at the order person? She peeked her head around one of her hiding spots to find she was looking at the owner of the energy signature. It was a senshi, she couldn't tell if it was super senshi though. This could be problematic - they had magic. Which usually also didn't work well against a piece of paper. She cursed the powers that be under her breath for saddling her with the most useless weapon unless she wanted to try and give someone a paper cut.
There was a pause as she watched some sort of wispy thing float around the senshi as well and then take off. What was that!?

The sensation of a Chaos energy signature sent a shudder through her body, she couldn’t say whether from the it came from the energy itself or from the still fresh memory of her battle with that Negaverse captain (That ridiculous, arrogant Negaverse captain). Tempesti didn’t consider that to be a particularly pleasant experience and the wound still ached and itched as it trotted through the healing process. Whoever it was didn’t feel quite as powerful as her most recent acquaintance, but she didn’t want to underestimate a potentially hostile presence. After all, there was no way of being certain that they didn’t have allies somewhere out of sight, outside the strange barrier created by the fence.
The senshi hoped that feigning unawareness of their presence would be enough to draw them out.
Labdradorite drew her head back from peering around the corner. Apparently the senshi didn't sense her maybe or they choose to ignore her. The lieutenant stopped to think about how best to approach this situation.
Could she sneak up on the senshi? Should she pretend to be friendly? There was quite a distance to cover she felt like to try and sneak to snag energy. Which probably wouldn't happen anyways - considering. But it could be fun to try right?
There was a shrug and she sauntered out from her hiding spot. Might as well put on an act and try to get close enough to take a bit of energy off the top. It hopefully would work out some how.
"Well, well, well, what do we have here?" She said as she walked towards the senshi. She didn't even bother to bring her poster out of her subspace.

At the sound of the agent’s voice Tempesti sighed softly and turned around, wondering how long the other woman had been waiting to use that line on someone. As much as she’d wanted to get eyes on a potential enemy the senshi was, by nature, not exactly bellicose. She would have been happy to leave the stranger to her own devices and just be two people engaging in some not strictly legal urban exploration. Unfortunately it seemed as though the other explorer had a different idea of what should happen here tonight. That or she was flirting, though the young senshi was fairly certain that she could dismiss that possibility under the current circumstances.
Whatever the black-clad woman’s intentions were, she didn’t see anything resembling a weapon. That, at least, was an improvement over the last person she’d encountered here. “Just out for a stroll, no harm in that, right?” She allowed a slight smile to cross her face as she spoke. What limited experience she had ensured that she was ready to loose her magic if need be, but until the agent proved herself a threat she held that part of her in reserve.
Labradorite was still smiling just watching the senshi. Her hands now behind her back to help her look less intimidating. Perhaps this might be easier than she thought since the senshi didn't out right just fling some sort of magical power at her.
"Ah no, no harm in that at all." The lieutenant was trying to think how to get the other to drop their guard. "May I join you?"
Perhaps the illusion of being a friend would let her get close enough to steal some of the senshi's energy. She moved her hand from behind her back and motioned towards one of the unfinished buildings. "I personally thought that building looked interesting to see if there were any treasures or trinkets. Perhaps a hint of what they'll finally put here."
Another sweet smile spread across her lips as she waited to see what the senshi thought.

Tempesti raised her eyebrows at the request. On a practical level it was beneficial that the agent so severely underestimated her, on a level that felt more pressing the senshi wondered if she should feel insulted. Some small part of her wanted to believe that she could take this at face value. She’d had conversations with other Chaos-aligned individuals that didn’t end in violence before, but she knew better than to let that inform her decisions.
Opting to play along, she allowed a poised, friendly smile to cross her face. “I don’t know if they’ve left anything interesting in there, but I have been curious about what they want to put here. It’s definitely an unusual setup.” She made to move forward, waiting for the other woman to follow suit. It wouldn’t do to turn her back on the stranger.
Labs stretched as she walked beside Tempesti. "Surely they've left something."
She hummed as she walked, "Oh by the way, I'm Labradorite." The lieutenant introduced herself, even if she was planning on something nefarious she could still introduce herself.
It wasn't that far to get to the building. She was hoping once inside it'd be easier to ambush the senshi. It appeared the buildings had actual doors on them and she moved to hold the door open for the senshi, "After you my dear."

“Sailor Tempesti.” Her name as a senshi wasn’t exactly a secret, nor was the fact that this agent was trying to get her to turn her back. Assuming that other woman didn’t have some hidden ally beyond her capacity for sensing potential enemies, it seemed like a risk worth taking. Just a senshi walking ahead of a harmless new acquaintance, right? She kept that guileless smile painted across her face as she walked through the open door.
Labs grinned as she continued to walk beside the senshi, finally throwing her arm around her new acquaintance, "What sort of things do you do for fun Tempesti?"
She asked as they wondered the hallway Labs was looking for a room that looked interesting perhaps. She hummed softly tilting her head as she saw something that looked interesting, "That room looks like it has something in it~!"
As she lead the senshi into the room she tried to focus and drain some energy from the senshi.

“Well, I’m a musician. I suppose you could also say that I have a fairly personal interest in mythical creatures.”
Tempesti sighed softly. She’d given this woman every chance to change her mind and keep her hands to herself, but the sensation of her own energy beginning to drift into the agent’s grasp put an end to that experiment.
“Harrowing Storm!
The senshi removed herself from her opponent’s grasp, turning to face her as the wingbeats of spectral harpies engulfed them in a barrage of wind and lightning. Using her abilities against other people remained as jarringly alien an experience as ever, even with her repeated internal reminders that it was better for her to subdue them than leave them to their own devices. Whatever her own reservations, she had to at least try to put herself between the power-hungry and those less equipped to fight back.
"Oh that's cool~!" Labs said as the other said they were a musician. Also an interest in mythical creatures, interesting. "I hope I get to hear you play some time."
The lieutenant winked. And shortly it seemed her plan was thwarted. Of course the senshi had magic that actually did something. There was a sneer as she was getting battered by wing and lightning from harpies no less.
She frowned and decided it was best to retreat. She was getting shocked and it was fairly unpleasant. It was stunning and disorientating for a few moments before Labradorite decided to retreat.
The energy hadn't been enough to even form a pearl so it was a loss all the way around, "You win this time~" She called as she high tailed it out of the building.

The other woman’s retreat came with a sense of relief and Tempesti felt incredibly lucky that she’d never been put in a position to seriously injure another person. Nothing that couldn’t be recovered from, even for the youma she dusted. From everything she’d heard it was almost an inevitability, as was receiving at least a few severe wounds of her own. Another hissing sigh escaped her. If anything, it was a reminder to be vigilant. A reminder to know when to strike and how hard. To never draw more blood than it took to end the conflict.
With the agent gone the wisp darted back to Tempesti’s side before renewing its position atop her head. “C’mon, let’s keep looking around.” If the wisp understood her it gave no sign, but drifted along in time with her steps.
