Poultrygeist (15) : As Destiny City is a bustling metropolis, it’s not unexpected that there should be some strange animals running the streets. Sometimes it’s a tiger, sometimes a monkey, sometimes a chicken. Sometimes it’s something worse. Strange egg clusters have appeared in Destiny City’s parks and officials aren’t really sure what they are; these eggs have nothing inside of them. Though it’s an anomaly, they are chalking it up to teenaged pranks. However, they have advised to just leave the eggs as they are. Nobody wants to say why, but if you’re out late at night, you’ll find out. In the darkness, whispered between the sounds of the city: a guttural, rasping cluck. The creature stands on stilt-like legs, rooted to the ground with razor-sharp talons. It wears a cloak of long, oily feathers that drag on the ground with a sinister scraping. If you stare into the darkness, piercing red eyes stare back at you. That’s all it takes for a confrontation: a mangled bird, maybe a chicken in another life, comes barreling out at you. It stands easily as tall as a person, but the proportions are all wrong. The smell of sulfur follows it as it lunges, pecking and screaming and scratching as it attempts to chase you away. Maybe, from the nests full of empty eggs. The battles are fierce, but fleeting; it will viciously try to chase you away but the effects are always the same: at some point, the eggs are crushed. As always, there’s nothing inside of them, but with one final wail, the bird will vanish into a plume of foul smoke.

Note: If you choose to encounter one of these bird-like creatures, your character will recognize they are not youma. It is impossible to tell if it is a single entity or if there are many. The bird does not seem to understand or care to listen to human words. It will always disappear in a malodorous plume of smoke and leave nothing but a foul odor and a clutch of empty, broken eggs behind. This RP can be used as a battle requirement as long as there are two powered characters involved; you must be interacting with another player’s powered character. This does not count as the one youma battle per stage for growth so characters can still use an NPC youma battle as well as this one for growth purposes. This can only be used as a battle requirement once per character, but there is no limitation for how many times a player can use this prompt.

Tea had already dealt with this chicken one time. However, something drew her out to the general area again. She couldn't explain it but perhaps it was the energy signature somewhere in the area and the fact she wanted to network with more people.

Not only that but perhaps it was also a desire to warn the energy signature about the poultrygeist. She didn't like the demon chicken specially since it smelled and her attack was useless against the thing. It was very frustrating if she had to be honest that she couldn't actually hit the monster with a decent attack to help dispell it.

There was a pause when she was at the edge of where the nests started, hoping that perhaps she could get to the mystery energy signature without much trouble.

Kemi made her way towards the other aura, wanting to make friends. She hadn’t met up with any of the…strange creatures that were haunting the city this time. She had seen a lot, but wasn’t sure what the deal with these…nests were.

Her eyes landed on the blue haired Senshi and she broke into a smile, hurrying over. “Hello! I’m Kemi, Senshi of Deception, it’s lovely to meet you!”

Her foot landed in one of the nests…and she winced slightly. “Ew…what are these?”

Tea was about to say something when who she thought was the owner of the energy signature came into view a lot faster than expected. There was a pause and before she could warn the other, they'd stepped in the nest.

There was a groan, "Those -- are eggs to some sort of ghostly demon chicken that smells like sulfur." There was a pause as she looked around.

"Since you stepped on one of the eggs it should be here in . . . . three . . . . two . . . on ---" There was a wail as the bushes rustled.

"Yup there it is. Watch out!!!" Tea moved to pull Kemi away from the nests and out of the bird's path, "I'm Tea, senshi of mice by the way." She added with a grin, "Nice to meet you, I wish it was under more --- pleasant and less fragrant scenarios."

“What…is that?”

Kemi stared at the creature, her mouth falling open in horror, disgust and confusion. “It…it’s not a youma…it doesn’t feel like anything is…this some kind of earth mutant?” She wasn’t sure what else it could be…a freak…caused by…pollution? By something that had tainted food or water?

“Is this…something that could be spreading? Do you think it’s planted by the Negaverse or…or something?”

Chaos could take many forms as she well knew but…but this?

“...It…it is nice to meet you, but apart from kicking at this thing, I am afraid my magic will be utterly useless…unless this thing has hopes and dreams…”

Tea stood for a moment puzzling what it was, like Kemi said it wasn't a youma, but it could be some sort of mutant or well who knew really.

"It's nothing that's on my radar.... but it seems to have some sort of magical property to it because it'll just disappear at some point." The senshi of mice said giving a pause.

There was a faint chuckle, "Ah glad to be in good company then because my attack happens to also be useless against this thing. Down sides to be a healer I suppose...."

Tea looked at the eggs in the nest. "I think -- the trick was getting the eggs away from it."

It seemed this time the chicken was more interested in playing keep away as suddenly it started charging towards the pair that were standing too close to it's nest. Tea jumped backwards "Watch it!" She called.

“Fantastic, I’m sure you and I will absolutely make it out of here alive.” Kemi’s voice was wry, but somewhat amused. A bird couldn’t take her down, she had been alive for…far too long and this wasn’t how she was going to die. From a chicken. It.

Was comical.

But as the creature began running towards them, and when her new friend jumped away, Kemi did the only thing that she could think of and drew back her leg, envisioning that the bird was a round ball and kicking it with every ounce of strength that she had…and somehow. She managed but.

“Oh, these are not the right kind of shoes to kick things in…that thing is all bones!”

Hopefully, her foot wasn’t broken. She didn’t think it was but.

Ow.

Tea cringed when Kemi kicked the chicken and said her shoes weren't for kicking things. "Well maybe not for the chicken but maybe punting eggs like footballs?"

The senshi of mice offered as she moved trying to distract the chicken away from Kemi who'd made it ruffle it's feathers. Letting off another pungent smell of sulfur.

"I'll distract it if you want to get the eggs." She said trying to cover her nose from the offending smell that the chicken let off. "Ugh I hate the smell of this thing."

“Bu..but what are we supposed to do with the eggs? Should we just crush them all to stop this monster from reproducing?”

It made sense to Kemi, and she was prepared to smash some more eggs. “There is no way that I will believe you if you say we should gather them and consume them, no matter how wrecked the economy might be and how high the price of eggs…I don’t think that these would be any good for human…or…rather any being’s consumption!”

Her voice wasn’t quite a whine…but she wanted to. Wanted to throw a tantrum, in fact. This…this nonsense wasn’t something she had signed up for. Chaos? She could deal with Chaos. Would and had dealt with chaos but…

This?

“I’ll kick it again, you do…what you wish to do with the eggs, I will simply not look!”

Breaking into some kind of a run, Kemi kicked at the monster once more, feeling foolish but…also. Angry.

Tea paused when Kemi asked what they should do for the eggs. There was a pause when the other kind of almost whined about the idea, "Heavens no they're empty we can't eat theme."

However, Kemi ran before Tea could explain much more but the idea of eating a sulfur stink bomb was terrible.

She picked up a couple of the eggs and chucked them at the chicken as she kicked another one or two. Hoping she could help keep Kemi from hurting her foot too much with the kicks to the chicken.

Oh. Tea was throwing the eggs, and honestly, that seemed a much better idea than eating them, or collecting them or even decorating them. “I see! I think I understand.”

That…may have been a lie. She didn’t truly understand but. It was very easy to say that she did.

Circling back, she picked up two eggs and threw them with gusto at the creature.

“Yes this does make more sense…you are wise, Tea, I’m glad I did not have to face this alone!”

And as the creature made a disgruntled noise, feathers puffing up, one of their eggs hit it square in its face and it turned tail and ran.

“...This city.” Kemi said, trying to lessen the tension that had utterly taken over her muscles. “...Is insane.”

Tea gave a chuckle, and a soft blush creeped over her cheeks. "Nawh, I'm not that wise." She said earnestly, "I've just run into the chicken before, I wasn't sure if it was the eggs or just a correlation but it does seem they're important part of making the chicken disappear."

She crushed the last egg and watched as the chicken went from running to poofing in a cloud of smoke, thankfully it was far enough away from them that it wasn't going to kill her nose.

There was another laugh when Kemi called the city insane, "I think insane is being kind. This place is a lot at any given time considering. I don't think anywhere else has such weird things going on at any given time."

She was looking at Kemi, "So... you're not from earth though are you?" She asked curiously as she moved, "There's a park bench this way if you want to come talk for a bit! I think we're safe from the weird chicken monster."

Kemi nodded, blowing out a breath and forcing a smile. “I would love to have a nice talk. Anything without that creature sounds perfect right now,”

She had some questions for the girl too, the ears on her head…but.

That could wait until they were settled and with a nod, Kemi moved off towards the bench in question, pleased for the respite.
