Into every generation a Slayer is born: one girl in all the world, a Chosen One. She alone will wield the strength and skill to fight the vampires, demons, and forces of darkness; to stop the spread of their evil and the swell of their number.
If only it were that simple.

 KIERAN ❖ PRICE
"So you can...t-tell...by the way I...use my walk...."
Kieran ran as fast as possible, flashing pains seizing the entirety of his flesh after every step. At this point, the shock of it all kept what should have been the worst of the pain at bay. Instead, it was as though it were evenly divided across his form. His pace was uneven; it was all too much for him to be remotely consistent. The horrors he witnessed haunted his vision like a vicious poltergeist that would not rest until he too was slain. Even as dawn approached, fear wracked his brain. Would he really be safe? And what about the next night? Or the one after that? Would he ever truly feel safe again?
"I'm a....a woman's...man...no...time to talk..."
Even so, that very tune was the only thing grounding him to reality. Or was this even really happening to begin with? The sheer magnitude of the revelations brought forth to him these past few days made him question if he was in his right mind even now. That the things that went bump in the night were real was...an absurd thought. That was his first reaction to the news, at least. And maybe he'd been better off if he'd stayed within that train of thought. Maybe they both would have. But no, he had to dive headfirst into a world he didn't know a damn thing about. He had to suggest that they check out the Doublemeat Palace down the road from the graveyard after they found nothing paranormal there, because he just had to feel useful. Where else would the undead get together to have a bite to eat, he asked. And oh how right he was.
"Ah...ah...ahh...ahhhh...stayin' alive...stayin'...alive..."
While he knew himself to be skipping lines, the panting kind of just came out. Might as well go with it. Thankfully, he didn't have to suffer through his terrible cover for long. While it was still quite a ways away, a blurry image of the Malachi residence appeared before him. He was almost there. Upping his pace as best as he could, which wasn't by much given the circumstances, he continued to push himself to get to that front door. Unfortunately, his vision wasn't quite at its best at the moment. "s**t!" Tripping over a twig, Kieran struggled greatly to get back up. But he knew he had to. If not for himself, then for her.
Kieran would continue to struggle for some moments, unable to regain his footing."I'm...stayin' ********, dammit..." But he couldn't stop trying. Not when he was so close. Whether it was from fear or from devotion, he eventually got one foot strongly planted on the ground. The other came shortly after, and he shakily rose back up. Taking slower steps, he inched his way to the front door. As he finally, finally got there, he panted as he brought his hands down to bent knees. C'mon...just one more thing to do... Bringing his left hand up, he mustered up all his strength to press on the doorbell. Unfortunately, that meant diverting what little remaining power he had from his legs. Pushing himself back from the effort, he winded up on the floor again. "Please let me in...please let me in...please let me in..." he said weakly, the sting from the cut right down his eye now gaining traction against the other aches his body felt.
As night turned to day, he prayed that this would not be the end for him. But dawn brought about salvation and damnation alike, as he was unsure if he would survive it at this point. Still, he had to keep clinging to the hope that he'd survive. Otherwise her sacrifice would've been for nothing.
