The Meteor Shower (3) : It wouldn't be a star festival without a meteor shower! Right on time, a beautiful array of shooting stars graces the night sky. This time of year is unnaturally clear and it's incredibly easy to see the stars. Most meteor fragments appear to be little white or yellow lights streaming across the sky, but if you watch closely enough you may find that some of them seem to be a whole rainbow of colors. The scientists have reported that it's just different components burning up as they enter the atmosphere, but there's something undeniably magical about it.
It had been billed as an event for all ages to enjoy. Nessaela's left hand gripped the flyer advertising the airing of a movie that would, upon completion, lead into a much broader treat for those that had gathered. That was the hope at least for the event organizers who wished to try and coincide the end of the movie chosen to allow guests who wished to remain, the chance to take in the exotic display that a meteor shower deigned to grace its viewers with. The movie in question was a fairly lengthy one, from all accounts, but if timed just right, the payoff would be immense.
Nessaela had been looking for something like this as an excuse to spend more time alone with a certain member of the Vanguard and even as she tried to warn Itztenoch about the probable draw the idea of a movie night under the stars, which would then turn into shooting stars would have on the local populace, even she was shocked about how crowded the field at the location in question had become. They had their human glamours activated once they left their dwelling, but still, Nessaela hadn't assumed it would have been this busy. Her expressive gaze turned toward her fellow comrade before she simply gave a small shrug of her shoulders, "I guess even I underestimated how popular this event would be. I think this group has hit a winning strategy. Maybe we'll see this again next year."
Her hand gently slid into Tenoch's and she gave it a light squeeze before she tipped her gaze to the skies. It was hard to imagine the threat that still lurked just nearby to the planet but for now, she just wanted to forget about everything except for spending a well-deserved break with the one who'd snuck into her heart. Dropping the bundle that contained a blanket to sit on, and one more to wrap around themselves did Nessa contemplate if this had been the best idea to partake in, but with Tenoch here, that was at least half of the equation to a pleasant evening out. The rest would determine if the movie was enjoyable and the display of shooting stars afterwards, magnificent. But truly, she was here and so was Tenoch. So even if the movie bombed (which she sure it wouldn't) and no shooting stars lit up the skies afterward (they would), at least they'd been able to spend a portion of the evening in each other's company.
"I've heard nothing but good things about the movie they are choosing to show tonight and I just wanted to say upfront, that I wanted to let you know how glad I am that you agreed to come with me."
The good reviews that she had heard about were an understatement. The film, Wicked, was one that everyone came out of singing its praises, and more often than not, the songs that were sprinkled throughout the movie. Nessaela had waited for an opportune time to experience the movie herself and this seemed like it was going to work out. It was even better with Tenoch there. She just hoped that the movie would interest him as well.
