Prompt 5: The Caves To any explorers visiting the new Reservoir, they may find that just a bit away from the sandy water are a set of caves. Some of these connect back to the lake, but others rapidly plunge into darkness. It wouldn't be hard to get lost in here, but thankfully there are some very odd lights to help guide you out. If you turn off your light down some of these dark paths, you may find yourself surrounded by glowing pastel lights. A closer inspection reveals that you seem to be looking at some sort of glowing caterpillars. An internet search will reveal that Destiny City scientists have been researching the strange, unnamed creatures, but the articles are very limited. If you take them out of the cave they seem to shrivel up almost immediately. They're neat, but clearly meant to be stay in their natural habitat.
However the ancient women's peace was shattered as she felt the awful cloying presence of a knight's aura. The bright aura set her teeth on edge, it made her blood pressure raise and she felt a desire to snuff this intruding light. She began to stalk towards the source of the aura her hand ready to call on her magic.
As she spied the young page coming into view she had to tilt her head slightly he looked like no knighthood she was aware of. She wondered if a new planet had a new order of knights, was that even possible. If it was possible then that was even more reason to snuff out this young knight here and now, she did not need more unbearable lights being born on this planet. "You, young page where do you hail from?" She demanded here voice even and ice cold as she held her hand up ready to strike.

The strange caves by the reservoir were a source of fascination. Perghamon had heard of them,t he past few years, but had never bothered to make a trip out; Maria had thought they sounded silly, and then...well, last year he hadn't really been in a state to give enough of a ******** to go by himself. Wandering mystery caves wasn't exactly something on his to-do list.
But becoming a Knight had changed things, and he had to admit that the glowing caterpillars at least sounded worth a look. He'd seen the lanterns made from them, and at the least, the caterpillars themselves were fascinating.
He hadn't expected to encounter anyone else. Maybe he should have. Butt he voice startled him--as did being called young.
"Huh. I don't think anyone has suggested I'm young in a long time." He reached up to stroke his chin, somewhat oblivious to the threat the woman in front of him posed. "You must be one of those Senshi from off-world, yes? I'm Pergamon, of the Moon."

"I am Sterrennacht, Senshi of Hatred." She answered "All the filth on this world are young, I have yet to find any natives who scarce outlive a century. You say you're of the Moon, what moon? This world's moon? I was unware that it hosted knights." The ancient woman began to pace back and forth her bioluminescent hair and eyes providing the only light along side the strange glowing worms. This was troubling if new knight orders were being founded then that would mean life was not only returning but expanding. She could not stand for it.
"If the Moon has new knights could other worlds gain them as well?" She spoke more to herself than to the human man. She grit her teeth, if that happened life would flourish and peace would undoubtedly reign someday. Her dream of a silent universe would never come to pass. This was unacceptable and this man he was a symbol of this new threat. She looked at him hatred burning behind her could glowing eyes, she wanted to see him bleed she wanted to break his body upon this cave floor.
"I see, you made a mistake intruding upon my meditations here. I shall snuff out this new light you carry and any of your fellows I can find." She declared in ice cold malice. "Sterrennacht Hostile Sonata!" She called out raising her hand a deep red glow coming from her hand as a spear of darkness launched toward the page.Sterrennacht Hostile Sonata Sterrennacht holds her hand out and calls out her attack and her hatred for her opponents manifests as tendrils of blood colored shadows shoot out from her hand to strike her enemies. Enemies hit by the tendril feel minor to moderate stabbing pain as the world seems to dim around them. At player discretion the tendrils can cause lasting damage. Her magic is at its strongest when there is animosity and hatred in the battle but becomes weaker if a battle is amicable or tragic. Duration: 25 seconds Radius of effect: 5 feet Uses: 3

More than anything, Pergamon felt confused. The woman in front of him--Sterrenacht of Hatred apparently, lovely--certainly was saying a lot of words, and he sort of felt like he understood all of them individually more than he understood them in sequence.
Well. If she was like Imnolu, Heibing, and Rylafein, she'd been isolated for a thousand years--that probably made a person a bit weird. All three of them had their foibles, certainly, thoguh he mostly knew Rylafein's via Imnolu's stories.
"This world's Moon, yes," he said. "I gather we're new."
Of course,t here was no misunderstanding a very direct threat and magic flying at him. Pergamon dodged backwards, but not quick enough--the strange, bloody tendrils struck him, and he winced, bringing up a hand to grip his shoulder where one struck--he didn't feel blood, but it still hurt.
"What are you doing? Aren't we meant to be allies?" Everything said so, and yet--
Perhaps a thousand years in her world's Chaos had done something to her. Perhaps she was simply an a*****e. Pergamon supposed it didn't matter.
"I don't want to fight you," he said, but he shifted his grip on his magical book, ready to attempt to use it as a weapon if he had to. Ideally he would prefer to talk her down, but he certainly didn't intend to let her carry through that threat of "snuffing out his light."
(..........How incredibly melodramatic.)

"I am ally to no one" She informed coldly she flexed her finger before dashing towards the page. She aimed her filed nails for the man's throat, she didn't have the glorious strength she once held centuries ago and she did not have the same depth of magic but if she aimed for the soft weak points on a body she could still kill all the same.
"That's a shame because I want to kill you." She swiped at him. She spun on her heels and aimed a kick at the man's head. "I can't believe after a millennia I find out not only does other life still exist, not only are there still Senshi and Knights, but they are expanding!" She snarled in a cold rage.
"You should die like your ancestors were supposed to ages ago!"

"Well," Pergamon said, twisting out of the way of those nasty looking nails, "that's clear enough." Whoever this woman was, she was...well. Maybe Chaos had cracked her. Maybe she had always been this way. Perhaps under other circumstances he would care, but for now, she was trying to kill him, and that was much more important.
Her foot came for his face, and he moved into it, instead of away; taking a blow to the cheek was all well and good when it opened him up to be able to swing his book directly for her face, with all the weight it bore and all the strength of someone who actually worked out quite a bit.
All he needed was to daze her momentarily, and then he could book it out and mark off this place as Somewhere To Avoid.

Sterrennacht was shocked as the man actually moved into her kick instead of trying to dodge out of the way. She realized all too late what the page was doing as his tome connected with her face sending her stumbling back. The impact left her jaw ringing as she wiped a thin line of blood away from her lip where the impact had caused a cut.
"Not bad Pergamon, of the Moon" She said righting herself ready for the next attack. "If you had lived to see your full knighthood you could have been quite the warrior with those instincts" She complimented as she had her hand up.
"Sterrennacht Hostile Sonata!" She called out aiming her magic square at his heart. However much to the ancient woman's horror and revulsion instead of the blood red shadows she expected to spring from her palm her magic sizzled and sparked with nothing to show for her effort. Of all the times for her magic to fail her she couldn't believe this was happening now.

Well. At least Pergamon knew now that he could do some serious damage with his book. Enough to keep her hands off his throat and keep him from getting choked out by a mad Senshi from beyond the stars.
What a thing to think.
She raised her hand, called on magic, and Pergamon braced for another impact--
Nothing. It must have failed. He allowed himself an instant of relief and no more, because she might get ideas if he hung out.
"You'll forgive the rudeness," Pergamon said, backing towards the entrance of the cave, "but I hope I never see you again."
He broke into a run, and hoped that he could get away fast enough.
