There had been a merciful absence of chicken beasts during Tempesti’s evening patrol and she counted her blessings for that. Hot as it was, flailing around at those things was more than she wanted to do, so if she could avoid it she would much rather do just that. Youma were troublesome enough on their own without demon birds trying to do their work for them, though she couldn’t help but wonder how many youma had unwittingly landed themselves in similar scrapes. They didn’t feel like they’d be allies, if anything they might be rivals in causing mayhem throughout the city.

She was so absorbed in thoughts of the strange and frustrating balls of feathers that she almost missed the sound of scuttling. The sound of scuttling approaching her with increasing speed and intensity. Those bloody starfish again. The wisp that had been trailing her decided to take this as its cue to make itself scarce, returning to…wherever it was the thing lived when it wasn’t bobbing around her head. Whatever the little lavender being was, it was more cute than unsettling and definitely didn’t seem threatening. If anything, it seemed curious about her, but that didn’t mean that she didn’t want to know what it was or where it came from. At least it knew better than to hang around when things got messy. Or messier than they usually were for her.

Summer here was sooooooo much hotter than in Leeds, and it had Chillingham whining while out in her knightly get-up. It could have been worse, so much worse, if that jacket of hers couldn't come off. So for now she had it tucked away wherever and was looking around the city.

Maybe a nice lake or pond might exist, she wasn't exactly sure, but once she started noticing something that looked like a trailing path of stars, she found herself utterly confused. Weren't these seastars? Where's the sea?

Looking up ahead as she felt someone else nearby she waved and called out. "Oi! Why are these things out of the water innit weird?!"

Maybe they didn't like the sound, maybe her question was about to be answered, but all she knew was some of the things started to turn back and move towards her.

"Bollocks."

A friendly energy signature caught the senshi’s attention before she heard the voice, from the look of it an unfamiliar young knight.

“Don’t let them get on your skin!”

A simple warning, but as much as she could manage before they closed in. At least the uniform didn’t leave a lot of bitable area exposed, but the bite that had punctured her own skin had itched for what felt like ages. Relatively minor inconvenience or not, it was worth a warning.

“Bitter Blast!”

She unleashed her wind and lightning on the skittering horde, barely aware of the impending arrival of reinforcements from behind her.

Hearing the warning, Chillingham stepped back before kicking a few of the starfish away. The moment they went airborne, it almost seemed like they were dryign out and turning into dust. So they were not critters, not youma, but apparently a problem for her to solve with this senshi.

"Oh! Right then!" Following up with bonking the things as she ran up to help the senshi, she was pleased to see them breaking apart as she went, making her smile as it reminded her of that odd game she had played at the fair with a mallet and some groundhogs or something of the like.

A few of the things were trying to chew on her shoes but with how thick they were, nothing got through before she'd shake them off and stomp them. "Persistent buggers aren't they?"

Tempesti smiled slightly, relieved that her warning had been enough to prevent any starfish related discomfort. She could not call herself their biggest fan after their misbehavior throughout the city. While they were significantly better than youma, or Negaverse agents, or rogue chicken monsters, the itch they caused was particularly irritating. Like how the edge of a sheet of paper wouldn’t create a life threatening wound (she hoped), but a papercut would sting for what felt like an eternity.

“They really are. One of them got my finger a week or so ago and it was so itchy.” She grimaced slightly at the memory, “Good thing you’ve got good coverage with your uniform.”

With the batch of the things slowly diminishing between both of their efforts, Chillingham was honestly surprised how many of them were here and out of the water. It was odd, and apparently they were harmful, but maybe her layers upon layers were useful in times like this. A few of the things tried again to nibble through her shoes, but they really weren't making any progress.

"Oh, well, that's not nice of the buggers. If only they were like those ones in the aquarium and not all dodgy like they are. Probably better to leg it though?" Not that she was about to run from something like this, but it would be good for the civilians around to be wary of these things.

"Maybe after we finish cleaning em out, they might keep away from normal ol' blokes and birds." It seemed like a reasonable enough idea, if they all knew where the rest were, then if a bunch of them went missing, then it would make sense for them to keep away because it must be dangerous if so many were gone now.

"Hopefully none of them get bitey on you anymore, being itchy sounds annoying. I know I'd be gutted if my hands were itchy since it'd make guitar harder to play until it stopped." Shaking her head, she closed the rest of the distance as she stomped and bonked the things out of existence.

"Think we got em all though, might be do for a cuppa now honestly."
And she knew her brother would worry if she was out too long, especially now that he was figuring out things without the same excitement she had over this all.
