Aika was working on gardening a plot of land that she found. It was filled with damages plants and looked awful. The plot was to the point that the land looked dead. So Aika went to a friend and got plants so she can start renewing this plot of land. First she starts by clearing the land. Then watering the earth while bringing things in after a lot of research to enrich the soil before planting these plants she has gotten into the ground. But once she starts enriching the soil and waiting to be able to plant is a learning experience. Although she is getting this down as she knows it can take some time to re-enrich the soil so that it will take to the new plants and help them grow as well as stay alive.
First step is making sure the plot of land has the prefect drainage so plants aren't over taken by water that can sit and cause mold to glow and kill the plants. Next up was to compost things and add them to the soil as well as organic matter. After that she plants some clover to cover the ground which will add nitrogen to the soil. It will also preventing erosion and suppressing weeds allowing the other plants to grow. Then she plants the plants that she brought after a few weeks of enriching the soil. Applying mulch like wood chips and shredded leaves as she is following the steps that she was told to do thinking she is done.
Aika comes back and takes care of the plotted land. Watering and weeding the about the plants that she planted as she knows it will take some caring for before it won't be a daily thing for her to check and allowing mother nature to take over again. So day after day she returns to the plot of land in order to continue to care for it. Watching it grow more and more. The plants getting stronger and stronger as the time goes by. Aika is pretty happy with how they are growing and seeing her hard work paying off. After all she has never gardened before but all that research she has done is paying off and that makes her a happy mare.
If you had asked Aika before she started this if she thought that she would be able to garden and keep plants alive... Well she would have told you no that she does not have a green hoof and it would be far from what is in her wheel house. But she has been proving herself wrong and is enjoying taking care of this plot of land. It is looking better as the days go by and the plants get stronger and stronger. It was nice to make this area look so much healthier which makes Aika happy. After all she wasn't sure she could do this without having to go find help but she did it with know how and research.
So Aika is proud of herself and all that she has learned from starting this project. Putting that knowledge to work was so rewarding that she is thinking about trying to learn more about enriching the earth around her. If she can make the world around her healthier and better for others then heck she would love to try doing that. After all one should leave things better for those to come after to enjoy. Something her mother would say for sure. This thought makes her giggle. What else can she do?? Looking about to see if any more land in this area can use more love and enrichment but comes up to a no.
That just means that Aika is going to have to look else where and hope that this plot of land can now thrive on it's own as she starts her new for now journey of enriching her home lands to make them better for all who live here. Because that is what this has came to and taught her. This poor plot of land will now bring now food into the area for other and even the smaller animals as well. So proud of herself she heads home for the moment. After all she has been caring for this plot of land for the last few months and now she needs more info on what plants and enrichments she can do all year round if this is indeed something she starts to do. Mainly because not all plants thrive in all seasons.
So she is going to need to know what and when to plant which plants in the areas she may come across that will need the love and enrichment she can give to it. Knowledge is key and her best weapon right now. Therefore Aika is going back to her research in order to get all the info she can about each season and all the plants that thrive in those seasons. As well as what enrichments to the land that should be done in those seasons. Because in each season different things need to be done. Well in spring and summer one might get away with doing all enrichments to the land. In fall and winter those might not work as well.
Aika goes to find her gardening friends hoping that they will have more knowledge for her to take in and put to use. There are many of them and they life and garden in all kinds of areas which will be more helpful then just one kind of area because mountain and flatlands are different and would need different care. So she will learn about it all. Which is just fine with Aika because she loves to learn more than anything else in the world. Using her knowledge makes her happy and now that knowledge can help the land which in turn helps others. Knowing that makes her even happier than she ever thought it could.
