Hobbies: Gaming || Raf has always been a gamer, ever since he was young. He still mostly sticks to single-player stuff, but takes great joy in Mario Party with the kids or trying out whatever the hot new thing is, even if he's bad at it. It's both a joy for him and bonding time with his kids, which is the main thing that matters.
Magic: The Gathering || Cardboard crack. Raf has been into it practically since Alpha, and his collection is impressive. He doesn't play competitively, there's not really time, but Friday Night Magic is a weekly ritual for him and he's happy to drop by his local game store for a few rounds of Commander on the weekends.
Gym || It's good stress relief, and Raf thinks it's important to get up and move when he spends much of his day sitting down in his office. He tries to make time for a jog in the morning and at least a thirty-minute workout after work every day, to keep in shape and keep fit.
Virtues: Adaptable || Rafael tries to roll with the punches of any given situation. He'd rather not stress about changes in plans or things going wrong; much easier to take a deep breath and adapt on the fly. Whether it's getting Counterspelled in Magic or finding himself in an unexpected Situation at work, Raf is good at adapting to new circumstances and finding a way through.
Easygoing || Rafael doesn't generally get angry, upset, or frustrated. He's just not a ragequit kind of guy, and there will be zero tables flipped here. He rarely raises his voice, and prefers to talk things out calmly, even in the face of other people getting angry at
him. It's just easier to be the voice of reason.
Protective || Whatever else he is, Rafael is fiercely protective of the people he cares about, especially his kids. They're about the only thing that could make him get angry, and he will do whatever it takes to keep them safe.
Flaws: Internalizing || Rafael does not do well at opening up or sharing his feelings. It's never something he was allowed to do, and he has made very, very little progress on getting past everything he was taught as a young man. He's still warm and friendly, but it's very difficult to get past the surface, or get him to admit he's having problems at all.
Accepting || In a way where Rafael tends to just....let things happen to him. He has not been an active player in his own life for a very long time, and moving to Destiny City is the first time he's really taken charge in years. Decades, even. He's so used to letting other people dictate things for him, it's strange to do it for himself.
Overly Forgiving || To the point where it's difficult for him to really acknowledge hurt that's been done to him. Hurt his kids and the people he cares about and it's a different story, but when it comes to himself, Rafael would rather forgive than fester, and it means that he lets go of things that he really sohuld acknowledge as harmful to him. It's easier not to dwell, and Rafael tends to take the easy way when it comes to things like this.
