The Meteor Shower (3) : It wouldn't be a star festival without a meteor shower! Right on time, a beautiful array of shooting stars graces the night sky. This time of year is unnaturally clear and it's incredibly easy to see the stars. Most meteor fragments appear to be little white or yellow lights streaming across the sky, but if you watch closely enough you may find that some of them seem to be a whole rainbow of colors. The scientists have reported that it's just different components burning up as they enter the atmosphere, but there's something undeniably magical about it.
The evening stretched out, long and late. Tianyi wasn't sure how long he'd spent sitting under the sky and watching the meteors fall, but honestly, he wasn't sure he cared. It wasn't as if anyone was going to be looking for him, or worrying about him, or anything silly like that.
He would have to go back eventually, of course. But for now, he was comfortable, staring up at the sky, and at least he had enough of a distraction that he could avoid thinking about....
Well, about...anything. His nightmares. What he'd seen fighting the Calamitous Hollow. How little he wanted to see his world again. Lots and lots of things that Tianyi did. Not. Want. To. Think. About.
At least the meteors were pretty. And he was, for the moment, alone.

Logan had... honestly been feeling a little lost, ever since he'd awakened. He'd met Blarney, a Page, helped him kill a youma, but... He'd yet to run into any senshi. Sure, he could help the Knights with their rings, but he could help Senshi unlock power within their starseeds. He wanted to find someone he could help like that. That was his purpose, after all, and he wanted to fulfill it. Or else what would be the point of him getting to be one of these cool cats who could think with a different kind of brain? He'd been so ordinary before. And so badly behaved. It was a wonder why his Lindsey ever kept him around, really.
Feeling downtrodden, he plodded along, only half-alert for anyone who'd need his help until sudden understanding came upon him. Someone nearby did need his help. Help unlocking more power within themselves. Perking up—this was just what he'd been wanting!—he ran off to find the senshi and tumbled into their shins.
"Ah! Sorry, got too excited, couldn't pump those brakes fast enough," he babbled as he righted himself and pretended like he hadn't just fallen over from being ridiculous. "Hi, hello, nice to meet you, I'm Logan and yoouuuu'rrre an alien! Oh my gosh hi! Wow, you're pretty cool; I haven't met one of you long-lost senshi yet—well, any senshi at all, actually, but I heard you needed help—that is, I sensed your starseed—am I speaking too fast? Still not used to speaking. Whoa. Talking is so weird, isn't it? You just make sounds with your mouth and other people understand you. What's that all about? Why can't humans understand a cat's meow, anyway? Oh, I've talked too much again. It's all so new! And exciting! Hi! I'm Logan, by the way!"
Tianyi valued the moment of peace he had found. The quiet of contemplating the rainbow-colored heavens, and wondering if his own world had ever witnessed such wonders before the sky turned permanently blood-red.
And then something ran into him. He blinked, and turned to look behind him, and gasped in delight.
He'd encountered Mauvians on Earth, of course, but every one felt like a little miracle, and if this one was going to fill the air with chatter, it gave him a moment to turn around, stand up, and reorient himself in the moment while nodding along encouragingly.
"It's alright, it's alright," he waved off any apologies, tail swishing behind him, "but what do you mean, I need help?" There were many reasons Tianyi needed help. He wasn't sure a Mauvian could handle most of them. "Ah--" He bowed, politely.
"I'm Tianyi. A pleasure to meet you, Logan."

Logan adored this guy already. He grinned and sat down primly, tapping his front paws excitedly and trying not to get up and start prancing. "Nice to meet you too, Tianyi!"
Unable to contain himself any longer, he stood up again, prancing his way around Tianyi in a circle. "What I mean is, your starseed called out to me—you're ready for an upgrade! More power, more strength, all of that good good stuff. Which requires little ol' sparkly me!"
He lifted up on his hind legs, planting his front ones on Tianyi's knees. "Sound good to you? I'd need your pen down here, though!"
Oh, this Mauvian was certainly full of a lot of energy. Young, perhaps--or just eager, and not worn down. Tianyi wondered if things took a toll on them, like they did people.
The Mauvian he'd known had certainly seem worn out. Perhaps because he had seen Tianyi's world fall apart, and been trapped there like everyone else.
But that was neither here nor there.
"I've never done this before either," Tianyi confided, and he produced his pen, offering it to Logan. "So I have no idea how it works. But thank you, I suppose more power and more potential can only be a help."
And yet...why now? Had he been ready for a long time, and just not had access to a Mauvian? Was there something about his time on Earth--perhaps about his encounter with the Dark Star--that made him stronger, now? Probaby Logan couldn't answer that. Probably no one could. But Tianyi had to wonder.

Logan shifted to grab the pen with his paws and sat back on his haunches, turning the pen over and fiddling with it. Instinct seemed to take over and things clicked into place easily, for which he was grateful—it all felt natural to him. Second-nature. He liked that it seemed so easy for him. It didn't feel like he was doing something wrong. The words and motions drifted to him like a gentle stream.
"Next time you need to turn up the magic, it's Tianyi Star Power, Make-up!" he told Tianyi as he handed the pen back over with a proud grin. "That was so much easier than I thought it'd be! I don't think I did too badly for my first time doing this. Gosh, this is soooo cool."
He turned in a tight, excited circle around himself. "Say the words, say the words! Pleaaaase! I wanna see how awesome your next outfit is gonna look! For a first time Mauvian?" he begged.
Tianyi watched, though whatever Logan was doing, it didn't make any sense to him. Perhaps that was simply the magic of a Mauvian--they knew what to do in a way a Senshi never could. He accepted his pen back with a grateful little bow, and tapped it briefly against his lips.
"Well, I suppsoe, since you've asked so nicely," he said, as if he wasn't vibrating with excitement himself to find out what it might mean to be stronger.
"Tianyi Star Power, Make Up!"
He felt it, felt the shift, and as his outfit changed, he spun, just to put on a little performance for his new Mauvian helper.
"Well? How do I look?"
Perhaps a cat wouldn't have an opinion, but it was fun, anyway.

Logan giggled almost maniacally to himself as he sat back to watch eagerly. Sure enough, moments later, Tianyi rewarded him.
"Woo! You look so good! The sleeves, the tassels, and oh my gosh, the shoes! I love the new look," he crowed, unable to resist leaping forward and batting at one of the tassels. "Aaand not just because I really like tassels. Seriously, the color and everything looks good. I love it."
He sat back again, grinning up at Tianyi, proud and happy. "This is so cool."
