How To Create a Colony
    • Creating a colony is a fun opportunity to create a community among your characters here in the shop. However, there are a few requirements that need to be met to create your very own colony, which you can find out below!

    • To create a Colony, you must first create an interest thread in the Colony/Pack Interest Thread Subforum.

    • Information in the Interest Thread may include some of the following: Information about the History of the Colony, Current Events, Rules/Religion, Any festivals or events, Biome (Mountain, Pine Forest, Desert, etc.), Hierarchy Information, and its Members. Your colony is not limited by these categories and may include more or less of what is listed here. An Interest Thread must be a fully fleshed out idea before it can become an official Colony of The Misty Mountain.

    • There is no RP Requirement to create or maintain a Colony! These are groups for people to have fun and create lore for their characters. Individual colonies may have different requirements for joining, or even rank advancement, so think about how in character events may in turn effect your colony and how they do things. To become official, a Colony must have at least one person maintaining it behind the scenes, up to two people. To create a colony, at least one character join the colony that the person maintaining the colony does not own.
For Example: if Kiya and Seaki made a Colony together, at least one more person must join in with their character to be able to make the Colony official. However, if Kiya makes a Colony and Seaki just joins in with their character, the colony can become official. The minimum amount of Colony Members is two.

    • *Required: Every Colony has its own symbol, that will be displayed on the cert. This must be provided by the person creating the Colony, as a transparent .png file. This symbol must be at least 200 x 200, or a 1:1 ratio of that size or larger. The cert color may change depending on the Biome or Lore of the Colony, chosen by the person creating your cert. • Now that you have all that, simply post the form below and wait for a member of the staff to approve your Colony! Please note that a limited amount of colonies/packs will be approved per month per biome, so if your colony isn’t approved right away do not be alarmed.

How to Maintain a Colony

    • The Colony/Pack Interest Thread will be the main plot hub for your Colony, and should be maintained even after your colony becomes official. This is where you may keep your member info, as well as info about any upcoming colony-wide plots, current events, and other such happenings that may affect your colony and its members. The thread will be moved to the correct Biome and Stickied, so that other players may find out information about your Colony and ask to join. Joining must be done through this thread to be official and obtain the correct Colony Cert.

    • If a Colony’s members drop to Zero, it may be subject to a disband. This can happen if no one is around to maintain the Colony. All this means is that your Colony will be unstickied and moved back to the Colony/Pack Interest Thread Subforum to reduce clutter and make way for new colonies to be stickied in the Biome. If you wish to reband your colony, simply refill out the creation form below and follow the requirements above. You may also ask for your colony to disband if you no longer wish to maintain it.

    • Colonies may receive semi-customs to give away during events for their colony, regardless of their status as a Lined or Unlined Colony. However, all Semi-customs will be on Rogue Lines. See: Colony Semi-Customs for more information.

Lined Colonies
    • These packs and colonies come with their own unique set of lines and come with a set of special rules that may change how a colony is run. Colonies with their own special lines will have their own subforum to RP within, to make maintaining them easier for all involved. Only Ma’Ome and Ma’Duwi will ever get unique lines despite their being other main-line species in the shop. To qualify for unique lines, at least 80% of the Colony’s members must be of that species. Companions don't count. No one colony can get multiple sets of unique lines. It is important to maintain your member list to ensure that your Colony may obtain unique lines, should an event for them come up.

    • All unique lines will be given away in a special event, so that everyone may have an opportunity for their colony or concept to have unique lines.

    • Unique-Lined Colonies cannot have overly difficult or extreme rules for joining. We are not here to gatekeep lined characters from active players, regardless of personal feelings. Color/Species restrictions are fine, but someone should not have to jump through hoops to be able to join.

    • Both parents must be part of the lined colony to be able to breed. Remember, a cert is required to breed your characters and both parents must be on their updated colony cert to do so. After joining, a two-month cooldown is required before a litter will be colored on unique lines. The parents may still breed if the plot or will calls for it, but they will be colored on rogue lines until the cooldown is complete.

    • In the event that a person who maintains a Lined Colony becomes inactive or disappears for a certain period of time (8+ Months) without proper notice to Staff, the Lined Colony will remain banded, but the ownership of the entire Colony may be revoked and given away. If you need a hiatus, you may PM a member of staff or the shop mule to give Staff temporary custody of your colony.
