Name: Lauchlan [Lauch for short]
Race: Wind
Gender: Male
3 Base Traits: Perceptive - Impulsive - Audacious
Personality:

Lauch has a keen eye for detail which can be both a blessing and a curse. He’s the conscientious sort who picks up on helpful little things – a friend’s preferred way to take tea, silently checking in on his cousin during storms, etc – and mostly uses that information for good. Occasionally he’ll use it for blackmail – especially if he’s feeling a little spiteful – and he’s been known to backlog tidbits for the future. A part of him is always worried he’ll be left behind again, so if Lauch can make himself indispensable that isn’t as likely to happen.

Keen eyes aside, Lauch doesn’t do well to think before he reacts. He’s always the first to try foreign spices – even if they burn his tongue – or cliff dive into an unknown lake. He has a hard time staying still long enough to do that so while he’s constantly on the watch he’s also always on the move and even during a conversation will fiddle with something; whether it’s a bit of string, a stone, or even scraps of shed talon from one of the sailscales.

He also has a poor habit of saying whatever comes to mind, even if it’s hurtful and only realizing after the fact that he royally messed up.

There’s little in this world that scares Lauch and that bravery borderlines stupidity. The lad lacks a healthy sense of self-preservation so when his cousin’s stay back he tromps through. He says what others won’t, lives his life abandon, and makes the most of each day as if it were his last.

Description: N/A
Clothing: N/A
Accessories: N/A
History: Lauchlan – or Lauch, if he likes you – is the second eldest in a little family just shy of Iory, Sauti. He was raised by Tairn and his wife with their two daughters after Tairn’s own brother dropped off his toddling son one night. Lauch knows little of his birth parents; partly because of Tairn’s own bitterness toward his brother and a lack of information toward Lauch’s mother. All he knows for sure is what Elio, the man who sired him, told Tairn before disappearing. That she was a good woman, but neither of them was in a place to be parents and this was the best choice.

Tairn and Vira were simple folk who woke with the sun and worked harder than anyone ever should. Both had raised sailscale since they were small so starting a farm of their own had come naturally. While they weren’t thrilled with the circumstances surrounding Lauchlan’s arrival they never held it against the boy and took him in as one of their own. In the beginning he often cried for his father – even going so far as to runaway and try to find him – only to be met with the reality of his new life. Slowly over time his attempts at escape slowed, but the questions didn’t. Even when he didn’t ask them out loud Lauch would wonder – and sometimes dream – about finding them.

Years later and Lauchlan’s fully settled into his role. He pesters his cousins as if they were truly his sisters, helps his Aunt and Uncle look after the flock, and practices his trapping when he can. He’s gotten particularly good at hiding them – much to the chagrin of everyone unfortunate enough to get caught in one.

Additional Facts
-His short term memory is atrocious. While Lauch can easily recall his cousin's favorite gift she received for her sixth name day, he can never seem to recall where he left his comb
-Can't handle spice, loves trying it anyway
