Cass had sent out invitations to the entire team to come over on Friday evening. He included that drinks would be provided along with snacks and some food, but people are more than welcome to bring their own preferences. There was no obligation to come as the gathering was intended to be a chill affair. A way for them all to let loose after dealing with saving the world and the aftermath that came with it. It would also prove to be a good way for everyone to get to know any of the new team members they had yet to really meet. The team’s roster had blossomed significantly as of late, so a get together certainly wouldn’t hurt.
Cass had gone out and purchased several different types of alcohol, mixers, and a few beers for those who preferred. He included a list of the items he’d purchased for the party so people could decide if they wanted to bring their own choice drinks. Anything that needed to be kept cold was stored in the fridge while all of the liquor was in plain view on the counter in the kitchen. Cups, plates, napkins, and plastic silverware was set out along with chips, crackers, and dips. He even went out and go some catered food. Nothing too fancy. BBQ Chicken and burgers mainly, but those were also set up in tin-foil pans with sterno’s.
It wasn’t anything fancy, but it wasn’t meant to be. The team was a family after all, and that was the vibe Cass had been leaning into. For seats there were the usual suspects of dining table chairs, the couch and sitting chairs, but Cass made sure to provide large floor pillows as well which he stacked next to the couch for people to use. There was no way they’d be able to accommodate seating for everyone, but Cass honestly wasn’t expecting the entire team to show. Not all at once anyway. People had their own lives and jobs. He damn well know that some would just not be able to come, or may only breeze through in short spurts.
Still, the house was ready with music playing as he fussed with last minute details while waiting for people to arrive.
