A week later, Idirian was heading over to Noa’s apartment. She said she wanted to talk about the baby, and he was a little nervous. He would, of course, be okay with any choice she made because it was her body and she was the one who would spend nine months incubating a tiny human.
If it was solely his choice, he would want to keep the baby. He was already sure that Noa was the one he wanted to spend his life with, so getting a jump start on their family would be incredible. But she was only 22 to his 26 and had a lot left to do while she was young. Not that Idirian was an old man by any means, but having raised his little sister after they sent Garrett and Gina to jail had curtailed a lot of his “young and dumb” activities.
That knowledge would come in handy if Noa wanted to keep their baby, though. He wondered what they would look like… Would they have her eyes? Or his? He would adore a miniature version of Noa, although that might mean he would have a house with three chaos gremlins on the loose instead of just two.
Shaking off those thoughts, he knocked on the door to her apartment. “It’s me, Bunni,” he called out to her.
Dealing with morning sickness was a b***h.
Noa mourned the loss of her salad, but she would find something the baby would allow her to keep down. Hearing the knock on her door brought a smile to her face and she got up from her couch to unlock the door [usually it would be unlocked, but Idri didn't like it now that she was pregnant], smiling up at the big guy in the doorway. “Hey Big Guy~ Come in and sit down.” She quickly made her way to her lazy boy, grabbing her blanket and curling up to get comfortable. “Do you want me to get you anything?”
Idirian smiled softly and stole a kiss before taking a seat and stretching out a bit. “No, I’m good, amor,” he said as he relaxed. “How have you been feeling?” He knew morning sickness was a thing, but he had hoped she was one of the lucky ones who didn’t have it. He wanted to ask her to move in with him, especially if she decided to keep the baby, but he would wait. This was a lot for her and he didn’t want to add to it. He hadn’t mentioned anything about even the possibility to Ainsley yet, waiting until Noa was ready.
She would make him something in a bit…Wether he wanted something or not.
Noa grimaced when Idri asked how she had felt today, rubbing her lower stomach gently, “The little parasyte you implanted does not like salad apparently. Or rice, chicken, or tuna….But it likes steak so I guess my palate is going to be a bit rougher for awhile.” She giggled and curled further into her lazy boy with a content smile. “I decided to keep the little guy. I figured it was fate since this is one of those rare one percent pregnancies that can occur.” At least she didn't have an IUD, that would complicate things immensely. “I….I hope that's okay? If not, I understand, this is your decision too.”
He snorted when she called it a parasite, but smiled at her. He knew she meant it affectionately. Damn, so she had morning sickness. He made a note to see what he could do to help her with that. Maybe he could ask his aunt… No. She would turn it into a whole big deal and he wasn’t even sure that-
Oh. She wanted to keep the baby. For a second, he stared at her in surprise, but then he grinned and leaned over the side of the couch and her lazy boy to kiss her adoringly. “I’m perfectly happy with that,” he said and stole another kiss before sitting back. “I wanted it to be mostly your decision, because it’s your body. I would have supported you either way, but I won’t deny that I’m happy you want to keep it.” Even the idea of being a father was new for him. After his own experience with a paternal figure, he hadn’t been keen on continuing his family line but with Noa? All of that changed. He wanted everything with her.
They…had a lot to discuss before the baby came. “Do you want to wait to tell people?” he asked her.
There was a smile as well as a familiar feeling running through her body, but she decided to ignore it for now, giving a small n** to his lip while he pulled away. She had a feeling he would be okay with it, but it was nice to get verbal confirmation. She did text her mother and father, as well as her father’s husband, to tell them the news. The answers she got were on two opposite sides of the spectrum: Her mother was…Not pleased, but then again, she wasn't pleased with the fact that she wasn't going to college anymore either. Her fathers was ecstatic and wanted to meet Idri at some point.
“I’ve already told my mother and fathers and got mixed results. Bets was excited though and I havent told Waru yet.” Although she figured she would tell her other bestie soon. “I think we could keep it a bit close for a while. The first trimester is the most risky and while the doctor says I'm healthy, I still want to be cautious.”
Idri smiled lovingly at her, chuckling at the mixed reactions from her parents. “That makes perfect sense. I’ll tell Ains, but I’ll hold off on telling my aunt.” Tia Selena would turn it into a big deal, he was sure. She would want to have a big celebration with all his cousins. Yeah…definitely wait until he and Noa were ready for all of that. He chewed the inside of his cheek for a moment, wondering what Damien and Dmitry would say. It was still strange, having friends.
Okay, so she’d been to see a doctor already. “Can I come with you when you see the doctor next?” He knew there wasn’t much happening right now, and it relaxed something inside him to hear that her doctor already said she was healthy, but he wanted to be involved. Garrett had wanted very little to do with Gina while she was pregnant, and Idri wanted to be his father’s opposite as much as possible. “I want to be part of everything,” he said and smiled. “Even the sucky parts. Especially those parts.” Those times would be when she needed support most.
“Of course! I would love for you to come! This little thing is half yours too~” She got up from her lazy boy so she could wrap her arms around her boyfriend. “All the parts. Whatever you want, you name it~” At first she was scared to tell Idirian, but thinking back on that, why would she be? He might look scary to most, but really the man was the biggest, grumpiest teddy bear she didn't know she needed. Looking up at him, she smiled warmly, “Honestly, I'm glad your my baby daddy and not some a*****e I would have to worry about.” Especially given the fact that she came to the conclusion to keep the baby no matter what the outcome. They didn't ask to be conceived or brought into this world, but Noa had a feeling Idri and her would be the best parents that they could be.
