“Another year, another flower festival.†Zariah groaned as she looked around the village. Like always spring was being welcomed in Tale with a huge gathering of travelers and locals alike. Flowers had bloomed in the surrounding meadows making the place a highlight for visitors to come and swap goods while also celebrating the beautiful array of vibrant colors that now decorated the landscape. The paths had been full of traveling caravans over the last couple of days so that merchants could come and set up stalls for travelers and the villagers to shop at, some even with games while others had delicious foods being prepared from across the continent. Though Zariah supposed that she couldn’t be terribly upset about things since it was the one time during the year that so many people came through the usually more quiet village. And she didn’t have to worry about her grandparents hovering over them since they were also really busy with preparations for the festival. Since she wasn’t really encouraged to swing her practice sword around the meadows when everyone was so busy and her father wasn’t around to train her since he was still away for the season, the girl had volunteered to go with her siblings to gather some flowers for bouquets and decorations around the village in preparation for the event. At least there would be racing later along with some of the other competitions held by the villagers to amuse the younger crowd who needed some sort of distraction while others made deals since it was also a good time to restock materials for the season with the merchants in town. That much Zariah was looking forward to participating in along with enjoying the food and the bonfire that was always lit during the evening dances and music.
“Are you all ready?†She swung her basket on her arm as she twisted around to look for her siblings, the teen more than ready to go exploring the flower fields before they got completely swamped by visitors gallivanting about.
