Creation

Before the Worlds came to be... Nihil, Father of The Void, decided to create a tree, which would uphold all that would come to appear in The Passage Between Worlds (or The Realm Between). This tree was "born" much longer before Fredlig Enhet was broken apart, and was rumored to hold it up with its own roots. This led many to believe that Avgutsäde was once part of the World itself, instead of existing on another plane. When the World was broken apart, and the Worlds were caught by the tree's roots. After this, Avgutsäde disappeared from the “Major Realm”, and instead moved itself to The Realm Between Worlds, in order to hold up the final section of land that existed on Fredlig Enhet, to allow those that traverse between Worlds to travel to the next rather easily. Many claim this tree to be Yggdrasil, but that is, in fact, not true. It is an entirely separate entity from Yggdrasil, which exists only in Veneficium, despite its roots spreading out to other Worlds and Realms through unknown means.

The Tree of Worlds

Avgutsäde

The Great Tree that Nihil created. This tree acts as the "Passage Between Worlds", holding up the tracts of land that allow one to travel to another World with ease. It also allows access to various Realms, for those with the ability to travel to those. It is incredibly large, with none having ever seen the top nor bottom of it, as both extend far into The Void, likely even going into The Primordial Void. Although the area that holds all of the World Passageways, despite existing within The Void, seems to exist on another plane at the same time, free of the creatures and other deities that exist within it. Although Avgutsäde is not without its own problems. Far beneath it, at its roots, dwells Wurzelschlange, a large draconic being which gnaws at its roots. It is not known whether it does this for nutrition, or if it exists only to cause the destruction, but it occasionally belches fireballs to the top of the tree in order to disturb its second inhabitant. Far above it, tangled within its branches, lives Baumschlange, a large serpent that breaks apart the branches and causes mayhem for that which rests above it. Often, it drops a rather large branch down below the tree in order to disturb the one that rests beneath it. It is only because of the tree's "guardian", a rather large and ethereal fox known as Wächterfuchs, that these two incredible beasts haven't destroyed the tree yet.

The Four Wells

First is Khemibhuel, "Khemia's Well" where it's said his head once rested. This well exists far from the tree itself, underneath the tract of land atop which exists "The Ancient's Clocktower". This mythical place, said to exist only in legends, is where it's rumored that "true evil" sprouted forth from. And due to its release, the Clocktower created twenty-six "oddities" of The World in order to combat it. Once, a very long time ago, Khemia's head rested deep within the confines of this well. Those who wished for all knowledge were allowed to drink from it, but in doing so, they would be tied to Khemia himself, and made to follow any orders that he gave unto them. The well itself exists deep within the bottom of the land that The Ancient's Clocktower exists upon, causing the roots of Avgutsäde to dig into it and hold it up.

Second is Sruthceangail, the "Connecting Streams". This is, in fact, a large pool of water, akin to an ocean, that surrounds The Passageway Between Worlds, making it appear as a hemisphere of water that surrounds the area below it. It seems to be impossible to fall into this water, as a barrier exists around the land that disallows any to try and go off the path. And those that somehow manage to make their way past this barrier and into the water are never seen again. Though the water is usually crystal clear, should someone step foot in it, they'll be dragged below, and the water will become murky. Those that have sunk 'neath its depths have never been seen nor heard from again.

Third is the Well of Unmei, the Well of "Fate". This well isn’t necessarily a single source, and appears to be more like a river. It pools beneath portals that would connect to different Realms, instead of having to do with connections between the Worlds. Although due to existing far above, reaching this stream appears to be rather difficult, except for those with the ability to fly. But even then, just because it connects these Realms, doesn’t mean that you can just enter them. This water doesn’t seem to be as dangerous as Scruthceangail, but it does burn those that touch it, despite any protection (magical or not) they may have.

Last is Exordium Well, the Well of "Beginnings". This well exists far, far below Avgutsäde itself, and is actually from where it began to grow. Its roots surround this well, making it impossible to enter, but also impossible to leave. That’s why Wurzelschlange is stuck here, gnawing on the roots of the tree, unable to escape. Although through unknown means, it’s capable of sending its children out to cause havoc across the Worlds. It appears to be a massive pool, tainted now by Wurzelschlange’s existence there.

The Creatures of The Tree

Baumschlange

An incredibly large serpent, and creation of Creaturae, Mother of Creation. A massive serpent with scales white as snow and eyes bluer than the deep seas. that has intertwined itself among the branches at the top of Avgutsäde. A serpent that appears to be capable of wrapping itself around a single world many times over, given its size compared to the tree itself. Any attempts at trying to kill it would be met with immediate loss, unless one is able destroy its hundreds of hearts all at once. It has regenerative factors that make instant healing look like child’s play, and as such, all those who use the passageways to travel between Worlds prefer to leave it alone.

Wurzelschlange

An incredibly large dragon, and creation of Exitium, Father of Destruction. It appears as a Western Dragon, with jet black skin and crimson red eyes. Its teeth appear sharper than razors, and even looking at them is enough to cut one’s body (quite literally, just looking at its teeth will cause cuts to start appearing on one’s body). It uses these teeth to gnaw the roots of Avgutsäde, which trap it in the Exordium Well. Although at the rate these roots grow, it appears to be an impossible task. Despite this, these roots allow it to give birth to children in an unknown way, which are able to escape this prison of roots to wreak havoc on the worlds in their mother’s stead. It’s unknown what fate the Worlds would face should this dragon become free.

Wächterfuchs

A large fox, and creation of Plena, Mother of Everything. A fox with nine, golden, glistening tails and eyes brighter than the stars. A fox that is, currently, the only thing keeping the former two massive beasts from battling. It bites back at Baumschlange to keep it from slithering down the tree, and eats the children of Wurzelschlange that attempt to fly up the tree. Like the other two, it is an incredibly powerful monster, and attempting to battle it would truly be suicidal. While its true abilities are unknown, as it is one of the only creatures capable of fighting back against the other two, it’s quite possibly the same level of power as them.

Armageddon

Aschfalwinter

The "ashen winter", and the sign of the end times. When ash begins to fall like snow in all Worlds and Realms, that’s a sign that the apocalypse is upon them. For the only reason that this would happen is due to Avgutsäde beginning to burn. For Avgutsäde to burn, Baumschlange and Wurzelschlange would have to be fighting, which would mean they’re free of their bonds and their battle is likely to carry across the multiple Worlds via their portals. Although this has never happened before in any Cycle or Era, that doesn’t mean it’s impossible. There are forces out there at work with the ability to push this possibility into a reality. For when the tree finally burns, everything will come to an end.
