Idirian had been getting ready to clean out the garage when he got the text.

We…..need to talk

That sentence was never, ever good. Immediately his brain was going through the last few days trying to see if there was anything he had said or done that might have upset her enough for a text like that. Noa wasn't like that usually, she always told him when she was upset. So what the hell?

Nerves too rattled for texting, he hit the call button instead. Whatever this was definitely needed a phone call if not a face to face meeting. He headed to his room while he waited for her to answer, trading house slippers for socks and boots. Confrontation was not his favorite things (despite being good at it) but if she was going to try breaking up with him over text he didn't really want to give her the option. So. Immediate phone call.

He didn't know what else could possibly deserve a message like that.

He could hear the tears in her voice and his immediate concern became one of ”who the ******** hurt my woman so I can murder them”. “Bunni, what's wrong? Who made you cry?” He actually might hurt someone who made her cry because how dare you? His woman was a gremlin, yes, but she wasn't a malicious one. Nothing she had ever done in the name of gremlin to him had been worth making her cry.

He relaxed when she said she made herself cry, but now he needed to know what she was crying about.

He didn't even have to ask. After explaining the text, she said the one sentence he had not been expecting. Stunned silence and shock would be good ways to describe Idri at that point. Pregnant? Noa was…pregnant? They were going to be parents. He realized he hadn't said anything when she started panicking.

“Hey, whoa, stop crying, Bunni, it's okay. It's going to be okay, whatever happens,” he promised her. “Why don't you come over and we can talk about it? I uh…called in the first place because I panicked. A little bit. Sorry.” He still hadn't quite processed what was happening. He just knew that Noa was pregnant and it was his and they needed to talk. He wouldn't make her do anything she didn't want, but he also found that he wanted this, with her. A family. But if it wasn't the right time, they could wait.

He heard the brat in her voice, but she was allowed a little brattiness right now. “I can come over there instead, no problem, amor,” he said, then winced and leaned against his dresser. “Ah…well, the “we need to talk” text is almost never a good thing.” He ruffled a hand through his hair as he headed to get his keys and wallet.

“I thought that for some reason you wanted to break up with me,” he said on a long breath. It seemed kind of stupid now, though. “I'm about to leave now, Bunni. Is there anything you want me to bring you? Candy, pastries, coffee…anything you want, amor,” he said.

He was already in the car and headed her way. “I'll be there soon, amor.” He hung up with her after another minute, making his way through traffic as quickly as possible. It didn't take him long after they hung up to get to her place, and he was knocking on her door. “It's me, Bunni, I'm coming in,” he said as he opened the door.

He didn't see her in the living room so he headed for her room, relaxing and bit even as he realized this was twice as hard if not harder for her. Kicking his shoes off, he climbed onto the bed with her and tugged her closer. “It's alright, mi reina. We'll make a plan and go from there, yeah?” He brushed a piece of hair from her face before kissing her cheek.

He smiled a little when she apologized for crying. And then again for getting his shirt wet….and getting pregnant and… “Noa, it's okay. You don't have to apologize for any of that,” he told her, hugging her closer and rubbing her back. “This isn't solely on you. I share half the responsibility, and blame. I could have suggested we be more careful, too.” Especially considering how often…yeah. Yeah, they maybe should have seen this coming.

But that didn't matter now. They needed to figure out how they wanted to handle it. But he didn't want to push her too fast when she was still upset about finding out. “Let it out, Bunni. You'll feel better.” He nuzzled her lightly and held her tight, trying to wrap her up as close to him as possible.

He held her as she cried, humming a Spanish lullaby he'd learned from his mother. It wasn't the worst crying jag he'd ever gone through, since he practically raised Ainsley, Queen of Drama. But he felt better when she wound down. She was still sniffling when she apologized and he was about to remind her she didn't have anything to apologize for when he realized what she meant.

He did know exactly what she meant and kissed her deeply, letting his hands slip under her shirt to press his palms against her back. He nipped her lip lightly as he pulled back, nudging her cheek with his nose lightly as he murmured in her ear, “Need me to reset that beautiful brain of yours, Bunni?” He kissed her shoulder, then up her neck.
