Storm was out wondering the city trying to find something to do. Really he wanted to spar or train with someone. Though he really didn't want to call someone to train with him. He was hoping he'd run into a random passerby who'd at least be willing to throw some magic or hands -- depending on who he ran into it.

The part of the city he was in was quite and there were a few construction zones around, as every large city he assumed was always building or repairing somethings. Sometimes more areas than others. The moon peeped occasionally through clouds as he paused when he felt an order signature.

The dark mirror senshi was curious who owned the signature and followed it curiously.

Iapetus had decided that if she was going to do this senshi gig, she was going to have to start taking it seriously. Having her soul yeeted from her body while fighting a giant ******** snake had been something of a wake up call. Now that she was far enough away from the event to be a little more objective, she was realizing just how damned ineffective she was.

It was time to fix that.

Oh, she wasn’t going to go out and provoke a General or anything. But she’d started patrolling more often. She’d already added a self defense class into her ongoing list of extracuriculars and that was going fine. Sure, she was a little tired, but as she wasn’t allowed to give up the dancing and she point blank refused to deprive herself of quidditch, well. She’d just have to be sleepy for a while. No big.

She’d literally lived through worse.

Even as the thought came and went, accompanied by a rueful chuckle, Iapetus paused and lifted her head, eyes darting across the area. She hadn’t seen or heard anything, but she’d felt it. And frankly, it felt gross. Not as vile as that psycho Queen chick with the laser cannon, but still. Ick. And since it seemed to be heading her way, there was no reason to go off hunting it. She could use her time to, well, optimize the battlefield in her favor. Not that there was a lot to optimize, but she could at least make sure she wasn’t exposed from all angles.

Storm stretched as he walked, he'd felt the order aura but didn't think much of anything of it. As he continued on his path. So far everything that'd happened since he'd gotten back and things had seemed to calm down from the snake encounter that everyone else had apparently dealt with that he'd missed.

He was unaware though that Iapetus was organizing a battlefield. He curiously approached the energy signature as he thought where they should be was coming into view. He slowed down looking for the source of the energy signature.

Truthfully, there hadn’t been much in the way of setting things up. She wasn’t about to go punching trees to remove them and she hadn’t found any gopher holes or terribly uneven ground. The best she’d been able to manage was putting her back up against a small stand of trees where she had a clear view of the surrounding area.

Maybe all her prep would be proven to be over-reaction, but she wasn’t willing to take that chance.

Eyes scanning the dim light, she caught movement and watched warily. Yep. That was a Chaos aura, even if it wasn’t as gross as what she’d felt before. Taking a deep breath, holding it, and then releasing, Iapetus decided that she’d done all she could. Now, she just had to wait to see how it would fall out.

Storm came to a stop in the opposite side of the field confused, he looked towards where the energy signature was coming from and it seemed to be a senshi? With her back against trees?

The dark mirror senshi was a bit concerned and stood for a second debating on what to do, before deciding to walk towards Iapetus. He figured he'd check on her and make sure she was okay since something seemed off.

It was fairly dark in the area too so it was hard to tell what the senshi was thinking.

In the dimming light, Iapetus had an impression of great height and mass. Though as the other... senshi? This was a senshi that felt like this? The realization stunned and offended her. Senshi were supposed to be the good guys. Not... not whatever this was!

Her sense of rightness grated and demanded action against this. And Iapetus was happy enough to oblige. Senshi weren't supposed to feel slimy to her soul!

Forgetting for the moment about any sort of tactic, Iapetus threw herself at the stranger, fists aiming for whatever they could get.

figuring this took place prior to Harold, so any type of corrupted senshi is going to knock her for a loop XD

Storm had about to being to introduce himself but in the middle of opening his mouth she just threw herself at him.

There was a startled noise before he redirected himself trying to avoid her but her fist got him in the arm. He took no more than a moment to call his attack. "Venting Charge!"

Storm wasn't quite sure how this escalated so quickly the ground erupted into volcanic vents and the senshi of volcanic lightning tried to move into some of the ash that was rising out of the vents which was sparking the lightning.

It gave him a moment to think about how to handle this. He didn't really want to hit her. "Oi, what's the sudden attack for?" He asked from the cloud of ash, moving as he spoke trying to figure a route of attack that wouldn't leave him prone but able to hopefully subdue her.

Venting Charge
When storm calls out his attack this causes vents** to open in the earth much like volcanic vents in a three and a half foot radius around him. From within those vents small particles of ash and dust swell and swirl upwards in flurries causing static electricity that can shock anyone within range of the clouds or inside of the clouds; they reach a maximum height of seven foot, but become less dense the higher up the clouds reach. This is fairly easy to dodge as long as the people caught up in the affected area is aware of their surroundings. This attack can last up to twenty seconds and be used twice but it has a thirty second recharge.

**The vents can be trip hazards. There's no real damage from the vent's themselves; but the static/electric charge is at it's highest levels here.

Before she could revel in the satisfaction of having hit the... she didn't want to call them a senshi! Even if the magic they called up was definitely of the senshi variety. Jumping backwards slightly, her foot hit the edge of a vent and she stumbled, going down on one knee.

Which, she honestly could have lived with. Tripping over things when it was hard to see was fairly normal. Where she took offense was in being zapped by lightning. That actually hurt! And then for the... person to have the balls to ask why she was attacking!

"You're all wrong," she growled. "Senshi aren't supposed to be Chaotic! We're supposed to be the good guys! Not... whatever you are!"

She would have said more, wanted to in fact. But it was difficult to articulate just how wrong his aura felt to her. How it triggered every fighting instinct in her body.

Storm faltered a bit when she said he was all wrong. He wasn't suppose to be Chaotic. She either hadn't met them or the negaverse aligned senshi.

He relaxed slightly and sighed, so that's why she hit first and didn't ask questions. "Sister, there's more than just order and more than just the dark mirror."

He said softly trying to be as soothing as possible to hopefully calm her down where they might could talk for a moment. After all they'd already thrown punches or magic. "I assume you haven't met the senshi from the negaverse either."

There was a frown, "I'm Storm, Dark Mirror senshi of Volcanic Lightning." He hoped, maybe this would help. "It might not feel right -- but we exist. For some reason, balance maybe?"

He really wasn't sure, perhaps he'd bring it up to Remq and see if they had any ideas. When his magic faded he offered her his hand -- to see what she'd do. He hoped at least she'd shake it. But he sturdied himself for whatever she came at him with.

”Don’t you dare call me ‘sister’,” Iapetus hissed as she stood for a moment, watching the other senshi with pure venom in her eyes. “You don’t ******** deserve to call me ‘sister’!”

Yes, yes, she knew he was probably using the word as a bit of sass, but even the hint of a kinship with anything reeking of Chaos pissed her off enormously and she was already shifting her stance, getting ready for another charge. She didn’t know what the hell he was even talking about with this Dark Mirror versus Negaverse bullshit, but she didn’t like it one bit.

It was all just semantics in the end.

“Chaos is Chaos,” she spat. “Chaos shouldn’t exist! All it does is twist and ruin and hurt people.”

Her eyes narrowed as he went on to introduce himself, apparently determined to talk. And acting like him existing as he was was some sort of cosmic balancing act. Oh, brother! Though she filed away the bit about volcanic lightning. That, at least, explained some things.

She was getting really tired of being a lightning magnet.

Between not wanting to court any further lightning attacks upon herself and the fact that it was really ******** hard to maintain her anger in the face of this dude talking so damn calmly, Iapetus growled audibly and settled into a wary stalking pattern. Circling the other senshi, she made sure to stay out of what she considered his reach might be. If she thought she was putting her guard down, he’d be surprised. She watched as he extended a hand and snorted. Was this guy absolutely ******** mental? There was no way in all the hells that she was going to go shake and make nice.

Resuming her stalk, Iapetus watched through narrowed eyes. Fine. FINE. He wanted to talk. She’d let him. Briefly.

“You have two minutes to say whatever you’re gonna say,” she said, voice tight. “I will be timing, so make it good.”

Storm blinked as she had almost a visceral reaction to him calling her sister. The dark mirror senshi frowned heavily trying to think of what to say in order to hopefully clam her down but it sounded as if she wasn't going to have it.

"Hurt people?"He asked curiously all they did really was just drain energy to try and build mirror space that wasn't that bad -- they didn't pull starseeds at all.

When she started stalking again he followed her carefully and then she said he had two minutes to convince her otherwise.

"We don't pull starseeds if you think that's what we're doing. Our goal is to help keep earth safe and build our own little space in the mirror. You should see it, I'm not at a point where I can mirror walk to the realm but we can build our own little lands and decorate and grow things."

He paused, "I think our goals align more than you think, we may feel like chaos but we're more neutral and would love for you to get to know us better."

He added trying to think offering his hand out, "I'd really like to get to know you. I promise I don't do anything to hurt anyone. And the mirror doesn't force anyone to join us. Unlike the negaverse who I've heard can force people to join against their will."

"I trust you're distrust has been earned but -- I trust you." He was biting the inside of his lip hoping he'd done a good enough job. He thought he was out of time so he just closed his eyes and waited with his hand held out hoping she'd clam down enough to shake it instead of attacking him.

There was, Iapetus thought in disbelief, no actual ******** way this guy could actually believe what he was saying. And, to her eyes, he seemed sincere. He still had his damn hand stuck out determinedly. Still, she knew that some people were such good liars that they could convince anyone of anything and by the time you saw the lie, it was too late.

That didn’t change the fact that she, at least, couldn’t spot any lies. Though she could damn sure poke a few holes in his story. Pausing again in her stalk, she crossed her arms over her chest, tapping one foot against the ground.

“You steal energy, do you not?” she said, voice tight. “Whether you think it’s en bee dee or not, fact is it’s still stealing little bits of pieces of people’s lifeforce. You’re still stealing bits of them and yes, it hurts them! Hurt doesn’t have to be all blood and flash and broken bone to be ******** hell, she couldn’t maintain her fury in the face of this guy’s puppy eyes routine. He so truly seemed to believe in the bullshit he was spouting. Closing her eyes, she raised one hand to gently massage the bridge of her nose. None of this was panning out the way she’d expected and frankly, at this point, if she were to continue the attack, it was going to feel like she’d punted a kitten. This ridiculous, far too eager to please boy was either the best goddam actor in the world or…

Or he really and truly believed in what he was saying.

Which meant, what? That either he was speaking truth and this Dark Mirror nonsense was a form of benign Chaos (insane!) or the people who’d sucked him in had stockholmed him so hard that he was incapable of seeing the rot. Either way, she couldn’t, in good conscience, beat him into a bloody pulp. He genuinely might not know that the rot existed. <******** he trusted her! Great! Glorious! ********, bloody hell.

She couldn’t bring herself to shake that outstretched hand. Her aversion to Chaos wouldn’t allow for that familiarity. The best she could manage was taking a step back.

“Go,” she said, looking for all the world like she was convinced she was making a mistake but had decided it needed to be done anyway. “Go on, git! You may trust me, but I don’t trust you and right now, none of your Kumbaya crap is going to convince me otherwise. Just… just go. Before I change my mind.”

It was the best she could do under the circumstances. Frankly, she hoped he really ******** appreciated her restraint.
