It wasn't the first time he'd ever sensed this type of Chaos aura, but it was the first time he was genuinely curious about it. Maybe something about seeing the lot of them clustered when they went up against that snake? Either way, Staurolite casually made his way over as soon as he sensed it, making sure to keep a cautious distance as soon as they came into view. As far as he was aware, while they were Chaos, they weren't necessarily allies.
He'd be glad to be wrong about that, though. While he imagined it'd be more important to make friends among the ranks in the Negaverse, allies outside of that would probably also be good.
"Yo!" he said, hand up in a casual wave and expression friendly enough. He even used his non-crossbow hand, to be extra safe. "Just getting started for tonight?"

There was a pause when he felt an energy signature making their way over to him. He had been just sitting on a bench watching the sky. There was a a pause when he heard the voice.
Looking towards Staurolite he smiled, "Aloha brother!" He nodded after his greeting, "Yes I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my night."
He shifted so he was sitting more comfortably and there was room for Sataurolite to join him on the bench if he wanted, "It was somewhere between exploring the city and looking for someone to spar with." He'd found some neat places while he was out exploring a few that were large enough for his fire dancing or a proper spar.
Ah! A friendly. Hopefully the relief at this wasn't completely obvious, but Staurolite did relax a bit more and, when the senshi made room for him on the bench, Staurolite went ahead and took that as an invitation to join him on the bench.
"Thanks," he said as he flopped beside him. "Well you found someone, so maybe the spar?" He extended a hand then. "Name's Staurolite. And not much on my end. Just wandering around, kinda also trying to figure out what I wanna do. There's always my quota, but if you're up for that spar that'd also probably helpful."

Storm grinned as Staurolite decided to sit and nodded, "You're welcome brother!"
There was a pause, "A spar sounds great, I could use the practice!"
When Staurolite extended his hand Storm took it and gave it a firm shake, "Storm, dark mirror senshi of volcanic lighting." He said with a grin. He stretched a bit before looking around the area they were in.
"Should we find a decent opening to practice? I feel like this might be a bit too closed off." He thought there was a courtyard type clearing not far away from them. That would probably be the better option than the area they were currently in since there were a few scattered buildings.
That sphere gave him little confidence that he'd win, but Staurolite was smiling all the same. There wasn't anything wrong with losing! Not in a spart, at least, and not as far as he was concerned. All of it counted for some kind of fight experience, right? What mattered was that he was better able to face up against Order--which Storm was not.
"That's probably a good idea. Do you know a good spot or…?"

Storm nodded, "I believe there's a courtyard this way!" He said as he pointed in the direction he'd seen. "Or at least it looks like it could be a nice little court yard with seating and a wide open space."
He stretched a bit before walking after making sure Staurolite was with him, he didn't want to leave the other behind. "When we get there, I'll let you pick which side you want." The dark mirror senshi offered.
After all there were places for little store fronts on the outside of the courtyard which seemed to be the reasoning behind the seating areas.
Staurolite kept close behind the senshi, eyes up and mindful of their surroundings in case someone were to happen upon them while they did a bit of fight training. Not that it was commonplace for powered folks to surprise each other, what with auras and all, but it was always good to be careful.
When they eventually made it to the courtyard in question, he made a quick assessment of the space and pointed to one end that was facing away from the stores.
"I've got a projectile, so maybe it'd be good if I took that side?" Because no, he wasn't interested in destroying or defacing the city while he did his Negaverse duties. Sometimes it was unavoidable, but now was not one of those times. "What do you think?"

Storm grinned when they made it without interruption to the area and when Staurolite said he'd take the area facing away from the shop fronts he nodded, "Sounds good to me!"
The senshi of volcanic lightning took the opposite side, "I'm good on this side, my magic affects the field though so watch your step." There was a light hearted chuckle as he took a fighting stance, he thought about his magic and debated if he should call it right off the bat.
He decided it would be interesting to see how Staurolite reacted to the change in the field. "Venting Charge!" He called and grinned after the ground erupted into the volcanic vents with clouds of ash causing the air to electrify with static electricity.
Sailor Scout Attack: Venting Charge
When storm calls out his attack this causes vents** to open in the earth much like volcanic vents in a three and a half foot radius around him. From within those vents small particles of ash and dust swell and swirl upwards in flurries causing static electricity that can shock anyone within range of the clouds or inside of the clouds; they reach a maximum height of seven foot, but become less dense the higher up the clouds reach. This is fairly easy to dodge as long as the people caught up in the affected area is aware of their surroundings. This attack can last up to twenty seconds and be used twice but it has a thirty second recharge.
**The vents can be trip hazards. There's no real damage from the vent's themselves; but the static/electric charge is at it's highest levels here.
It was refreshing, being around an agreeable senshi. The thought very briefly put a smile on his face, and he gave Storm a thumbs up in appreciation of the heads up about his attack. And he didn't think too much about it until the second the battle started, and before he realized it he was surrounded by vents and caught up in a cloud of ash and dust.
He both heard and felt the crackling of static all around him, though it wasn't until he moved that he felt the first of many little shocks across his whole body.
"Remind me, what's your…what's it called again? Focus? Major?" he asked as he grit his teeth through the discomfort of it all and sprint toward the first sign of clear air just a small distance ahead of him. He wanted as clean a shot as he could manage, and it'd be good to practice aiming while moving.
"Sphere!" he said, recalling the term just as he escaped the cloud, though not without tripping on one of the vents on his way out. He was falling sideways as he got clear of the dust and ash.

Storm grinned when he caught the other off guard, it was going to be a good practice as he moved from his original location. "Volcanic lightning."
He answered when the other finally figured out the word sphere. The disruption to the battle field wouldn't last long, storm needed to take advantage of it while he could and of course Staurolite had found his way out. That was fine, Storm moved hoping he would be poised to dodge whatever the negaverse agent had up his sleeve next.
Storm knew the mention of a ranged attack, so he knew he'd have to be careful and try to figure out how to land a hit or two on the agent without being struck was the goal. Though he didn't know if he could achieve it. "Well, your turn brother~!" He called with a cheeky grin.
It felt like he was falling in slow motion as he focused through his sight, and as soon as he spotted Storm through it he took his shot.
"I honestly hope it misses!" he said just before landing with a very solid thud on the ground. The Captain scrambled to his feet and dusted himself off while darting his eyes around, not wanting to get jumped, so to speak, by the senshi.
"I've never heard of volcanic lightning before," he said, wondering if small talk was called for given it was a spar but it felt like there was downtime between attacks. Which was fine! It was a practice match, after all. "Is it all the dust and stuff, or is it the kinda staticky stuff that I was feeling?"
Captain — Can fire an ethereal bolt every 40 seconds, up to 15 feet. When hit, it causes the sensation of sharp pain that pulses from the injury for 15 seconds. Being hit by the ethereal bolt can cause blunt force damage (including light or heavy bruising, up to broken bones or lacerations at player discretion).

Storm saw the bolt and started to dodge it but got grazed on his leg. The senshi winced as it grazed it him on the leg. He couldn't check but at least it didn't feel broken.
He slid to a stop with his fists up, "Volcanic lightning, it's lightning produced by the build up of static electricity in ash. Some insistences it can be as strong as real lightning. However it typically stays closer to the ground and doesn't move downward."
He grinned, "I picked up studying volcanic lightning as part of my weather research." There was a thumbs up even as his leg was sore, "So yeah it's the kind of staticky stuff you were feeling, it's generated by the vents sending ash into the air according to my studies and -- well it's not a direct bolt."
"So kinda all of it, then," he said, mostly thinking out loud. It seemed like a great attack to have on a team, to be able to control the field of view and generally weaken an opponent. He briefly imagined how well a coordinated attack like that could play out with enough training involved…
The Captain scrambled to his feet and made a break toward the senshi, knowing full well that there was plenty of time before he could use a second bolt. If they were still sparring, he didn't want to give so much room for him to use his attack for a second time. The closer he was, the easier he could reach the senshi even through the discomfort of the staticky cloud that he conjured.
"So once you use your attack," he went on, "do you run in and try to do more damage? Or just let the cloud do its thing?"

Storm nodded as the other mused that all of the attack was important. Storm was watching for the Captain, he wasn't sure he was fast enough to dodge but he could aim to try and move the captain off his feet.
"It really depends on what the target is and what the goal is. Not to mention who's working with me" He admitted "Sometimes it's more about distraction than the actual attack."
Since this was a spar he could try to see what sorts of things he could use the whole attack for, "Which is also why I wanted to spar to see how I could utilize and leverage the attack and different effects of it."
"Makes sense," he said, eyes narrowing as he honed in on the senshi, lips pulling into a grin. "Team's pretty important. I really need to get better about touching base with mine for patrols and things. As for the spar..."
The Captain emerged from the dust cloud and went in for a full body tackle, putting Storm's question in his back pocket for now. They could chatter more after the spar–and he hoped they would. He needed more contacts...allies, even...from all sides of the war, he thought. Granted, he was fully invested in the Negaverse, but that didn't mean everyone else had to necessarily be an enemy.
