He was getting tired of the late nights, not that he would say that to any other professors or the department head. It would make him look like he wasn't willing to put in the work. Sighing as he stepped out of the building, he started the long walk to his place with a bag of papers to continue grading once he got there. It wasn't raining at least, something that had been hit or miss on the weather app he watched on these longer work nights. But it was cloudy, so it seemed darker than normal, even with the streetlights buzzing in the night air.

“Hmm, two wraiths… I could definitely get used to this.†Hekate looked at her companions appraisingly. Semi-transparent monstrosities; expressionless, drone-like creatures that at least looked somewhat menacing as they hovered beside her. “If only you talked, then I might consider this a party.†Or if they came in different forms, like dogs, then she may feel like she had loyal companions with her. Oh well… she shrugged… Might as well have a little fun while collecting energy for Remarque and the Dark Mirror Court. Though she had no idea how it’d be used, the Senshi of Jinxes hoped it would be enough to protect them from whatever was heading in their direction, or at least counter these electral storms. Hekate leaned over the rooftop when she heard a door open from below, followed by the soft footfall of someone leaving for the night. “Oh how I do not miss night classes.†“Shall we?†she asked the wraiths who neither reacted nor blinked in response. They simply floated forward and over the edge. Hekate took a bit safer route and jumped to a lower ledge than to the ground. “Hello, kind sir,†she greeted from about fifteen-feet away. “I don’t suppose I could ask you for help, please?â€

At first, Elias thought the oddly dressed woman was talking to someone else. He knew he never exactly looked like someone who wanted to talk to random people, but when they asked for help, he internally sighed. Shifting the bag of papers after making sure none were lost, he offered a slight nod but kept just enough distance to not seem eager to help or rude. "It's late out, are you from the theatre department? I thought rehearsals finished for the night." It wasn't uncommon for them to stay late and wander, but he felt they were more the slacker types or would try to sneak around campus after hours. It was bothersome, but he had to do his due diligence to make sure a student wasn't getting in trouble. "What help do you need? Do you need someone to call you an uber?" Being polite, he shuffled to pull his phone out and looked down at it to check the time. It was much later than he'd intended... Part of him wondered if Marissa's job had her working this dreadfully late.

“Oh no, but that is very sweet of you to consider. I’m quite alright with transportation.†Mirror travel was second to none, though some might argue that teleporting was better. “You see, these storms have been keeping me up late at night, making it incredibly hard to sleep. While I’m feeling incredibly exhausted, my friends here…†Hekate gestured to the semi-transparent wraiths that were hovering in the shadows. “They have become quite starved for energy. Seeing that you’re still out and about this late, I wonder if you might have some to spare…†Her lips curled into a smile as the two creatures hovered toward him slowly, almost menacingly, to someone who wasn’t aware how harmless they were and how fragile they would become.

If this was a joke, he didn't like where it was going. If only he knew which student he was, he'd see about talking with the head of the department or university security about getting them to stop loitering after hours. But before he brought that fact up, he could have almost sworn he saw something moving towards him. But it couldn't be, he hadn't heard any creatures but yet as he looked down again, he thought he saw something. "Hey... this isn't funny. Stop that!" Stepping back, he tried not to drop the tests he had to grade. Even though he'd said for them to stop, there wasn't much assurance in those words. What was he going to do about something like that? It wasn't his job to keep dangerous people away from the school. Looking around, he didn't see anyone else out, which meant security was probably doing their rounds inside to try making sure nobody broke into the computer rooms and stole anything. Which was fine most of the time, but he really hoped that someone would be out here as he moved further back away from them. He'd been tired before, the usual amount from endless hours grading and working, but now he was feeling worse off as he nearly stumbled and a few papers escaped his bag. "H-hey! Someone help!" It wasn't as loud as he wanted it to come out, the yell cutting off as he tripped over the curb and landed on his backside on the ground. Papers were scattered everywhere, but he wasn't exactly paying attention to that as he got a closer look at the things that were coming far too close for comfort.

“See, just as I said. He has plenty of energy!” Though the wraiths weren’t exactly known for their conversational skills, Hekate’s grin looked like someone who had just won a bet. Her tone carried a note of ‘I told you so,’ but neither companion seemed to care enough to react. “I didn’t even need to use my magic.” Had he tried to run, she would have done something to stop him, or at least slow him down. But as he was already on the ground, she didn’t need to worry about him fainting and hitting his head if they syphoned too much energy from him. “For once, I’m not the Jinx,” her lips curled into a laugh as an amused laugh escaped her. The wraiths loomed closer, and closer still until they flanked him on either side, their forms becoming more corporeal by the second. “Don’t worry, Sir. I’ll make sure nobody trips over you if you happen to fall asleep.”

Nobody was coming, were they? He scooted back away, throwing a stapler from his bag at the woman even as he started to really feel drained. It didn't make sense why he was so tired, but he knew that the things were becoming more.... well, there? They weren't just a trick, and he couldn't wrap his head around the thought. "Get away!" Trying to swat them away with some of the papers, he had only gotten a bit further back before he felt too tired to keep moving and started to slump more towards the ground. If he could just get up and run, that would be best, but he didn't have the energy to do so. He pulled his phone out and sent a help message to the last person he'd texted, hoping maybe they were by the university again. Marissa could at least maybe startle them, could maybe get someone to help, right? She could also not show up, they'd really only had the one run in recently, so she might not even respond, he hadn't thought to check if it was her actual number anyway since he'd thought to trust it.
