Evren didn't often go out at night. Not because he was afraid, or because he couldn't defend himself, but because he simply could not be ******** bothered with the reality of having to defend himself. Things happened more often at night, that was no question' during the day, the world was simply safer, and he preferred not needing to deal with the underbelly of the city unless he absolutely had to. Of course, he had his connections with it, one didn't walk away from a life with the mafia without the ability to cultivate new connections to protect oneself. But that didn't make it any less tedious or annoying to have to remind people of it. He preferred his stealthier approach, anyway.
Unfortunately, some nights, it was simply unavoidable. He desperately needed to go to one of the 24/7 convenience stores nearby for some easy dinner—he'd gone too many nights without when he was younger to allow himself to go without again now, and as much as he felt disquieted by the idea of going out at night, feeding himself was more important. Besides, it might have been a quiet night. Truth be told, Tuesdays usually were, even in the crime world.
On his way back (so far so good), he nearly ran into a very handsome man that seemed to appear from nowhere, which almost pissed Evren off, because normally he was excellent at spotting people long before such a moment.
"Pardon me," he said brusquely, frowning at the guy, even as part of him was intrigued by the man's gorgeous appearance. Probably not worth it.
