Mason was ready to get a REAL fight with Theo Lane tonight. The newly signed giant was, for all intents and purposes, was humbled by Mason as their match at Wrestlemania ended in a double count out -- but tonight would potentially be different as yet another hoss fight would unravel live at Backlash.

The fans waited for Soundgarden, but they wouldn't get it. Nobody was coming out onto the stage, there was no sign after a few moments turned into minutes. As Mason stayed glued to the corner, the fans would pick up in shouts and jeers -- something was happening.

Theo Lane had appeared from the crowd and stomped his way into the ringside area, reaching into the ring and attempting to pull Mason out by his leg with all of his strength...it looks like this match, before it even began, would again bring us a ringside brawl!

As Mason was pulled under the bottom rope, the crowd started to ramp up in their sound...it was clear what was going to happen. Theo's giant arms attempted to club Mason in the back once or twice with forearms and then toss him into the ring post, the ref screaming at both men to get the hell in the ring for the match to begin!

Theo took a moment to admire what he'd done, a "rookie" mistake for the man who still wasn't used to being on this big of a stage. He jeered back at fans in the front row who were angry that he was stopped the match from getting going, but it wasn't as if they were overly big fans of either Mason or Theo in the moment. Lane looked to take hold of Mason's head and slam it against the ring apron, hoping to lead their brawl towards the ramp...what was he thinking, exactly?

Theo and Mason had made their way to the ramp, and it seemed like "Good Night" had a plan to cause even further damage. He would look to to grab a handful of Mason's hair and club him in the side of the head with a forearm, really looking to make it stiff! If Mason kept taking hits like these, things wouldn't end up going too well for the big man!

Mason's attempts were just in the knick of time -- Theo Lane was blasted in the gut by the elbow, which doubled him over momentarily and stopped his attack. The meathead growled with a scowl that was quickly wiped away by Mason's massive headbutt that sent him up the arm holding his head...doing a lot of shaking in attempt to knockfree the painful cobwebs that were already forming.

Theo was slammed with the knees as he was locked in Mason's grasp, struggling to escape as he was far from a martial artist. "Good Night" however would not go into the cliche as he attempted to grasp his own arms around the collar of Mason and bring them both down to the ground...looking to take the martial artist down to the proverbial mat, aka the RAMP!
