Elkurud waited on the park bench where he and Amateru had gotten their quiet moment to talk, after the battle with the Calamitous Hollow. He was more than a little nervous, all things considered, but perhaps that just made sense.
He was, after all, going to be asking a stranger if he could move into her house. And, yes, he had already done that, but it had been different, with Autumn--they had offered, more than him asking.
Ah well. Such was the situation. Until he could get a decent job, and afford housing on this ridiculous planet with its ridiculous system, he would have to share.
Hopefully Sonora was open to it.Honestly, Sonora was excited.
Having Cyrus as a housemate had been nice, but the poor man was so...sad, all the time. Making himself smaller, trying not to take up space, clearly subdued and just...
Sad. Sad was the word!
Until the night after the big battle against the Calamitous Hollow. Sonora hadn't gone; she hadn't expected that she would be of any use, not against something like that. Not when even as a Knight she was a thoroughly reluctant, terrible fighter. But Cyrus had come back with the news that he'd found someone dear to him on the field of that battle, and....
He seemed so much lighter, ever since finding his fiance. And it made Sonora feel better.
"I'm excited to meet your partner," she said, lightly. "It's obvious he makes you happy."

Amateru chuckled shyly, ducking his head and tucking some hair behind his scarred ear. He wished he could get them fixed properly—the incident with the fire had left them messed up beyond repair, after Chaos had taken his planet, destroyed communications, and left him without any access to the good healing magic or equipment. He just wanted them to look normal again. But that was a far off worry. A worry that shouldn't be bothering him today, except that it was a recent injury, one he'd not had the last time he'd seen Elkurud before communications went dark. His world had heated up and dried out so fast, fires broke out so easily... He breathed slowly and smiled at Sonora. "Yeah? Obvious, huh? Well, I... can you blame me? It's been a thousand years. I... I can't wait to see him. I need to see him again. He's the best thing that ever happened to me, Sonora." They reached the park and Amateru's pace picked up, long strides taking him to his fiance with alarming quickness. "El," he said, leaning in to hug him. "Hey."

Elkurud was not at all restrained, standing up on the bench and walking forward to fold into Amateru's hug, and then to tug him down for a kiss.
"Hi, Teru," he said, and the affection layered throguh his words was obvious. He took a long moment to just enjoy being in his fiance's presence, to enjoy being with him when so much had tried to keep them apart.
There were things that were new. Things he hadn't taken in, that awful night, like his scarred ear. But that was okay.The little changes didn't matter.
What mattered was Amateru.
And his Knight friend, of course.
"You must be Sonora," Elkurud said, stepping away enough to greet her, but not going far. "I'm Elkurud. Glad to meet you.""Yeah, seems like," Sonora agreed, "and no, I can't blame you. We write fairytales about this kind of thing on Earth." She sighed, fondly.
It wasn't her thing, really; devoting herself to one person forever seemed....limiting? But not everyone loved the way she and her parents and grandparents did. And maybe she could see herself having a primary, someday...but no one had ever been right for that, and Jupiter Butterfly was not ready to settle.
When they got to the park, and she got her first look at Elkurud--oh. Oh, yes, it was obvious how much they adored each other. So she was quiet for a moment, and then gave a little wave to Elkurud's greeting.
"Hi, yes, Sonora of Ida! Pleasure to meet you, too. I hear you might be looking for a new place to stay?"

Amateru chuckled warmly as Elkurud tugged him down, following the gentle direction as easily as breathing. Elkurud always knew exactly how he liked to be handled. The only man he trusted in the universe, here in his arms once again. He pulled away rather sheepishly when he realized his friend and his fiance introduced themselves rather than himself doing it. "Sonora has room, if you're willin' to live with a different stranger than yours," he said with a little laugh. "I can vouch for her. She's been nothing but perfectly hospitable to the big cow fella takin' over her guest room."

It felt so good, to be in Amateru's arms again. To know that he was only a touch away, instead of on a distant star, or perhaps lost forever. Emer had...missed this, badly. Missed his best friend as much as he missed his beloved. And yet. Here they were, and all was right again.
Sonora got a warm smile, and a nod.
"I was hoping to find somewhere else to stay, yes," he said. "The Senshi who helped me...I'll forever be grateful to them, but their situation is...less than ideal, and I would rather not continue there for...a variety of reasons." It wasn't Autumn's fault, of course,t hey couldn't help their parents, but having to sneak around--and also lie, and act like he'd very recently had his heart broken, as if it had not been mended finely in an instant just by finding Amateru again--was a challenge.
Not one that Elkurud wasn't up to, but one he did not enjoy in his ostensible home, at the least. His off hours were not, generally, also supposed to be a performance.
"And...I'd like to be with Amateru again." They'd spent so long apart, it felt...well, Emer was not particularly interested in continuing to stay away. Not when they could just....not....do that.
Especially if Miss Sonora was as accepting of the possibility as Amateru seemed to imply she was. Elkurud looked to her, hopefully, and waited for the verdict.
Ideally, he would have a new set of roommates in the very near future. And if she said yes, he'd have to coordinate with Autumn to move out, but then, there wasn't much for him to take. Just a few outfits he'd accumulated, shopping with her. Aww, poor Amateru, he looked so embarrassed but her and Elkurud having introduced themselves. So distracted by his boyfriend--fiance!--that he'd forgotten his manners. How cute was that?
"You two are adorable," Sonora said, lightly. "Like honestly, just the sweetest. And yes, I would be thrilled to have you. Just as fair warning, though, I've got a lot of family and they drop by occasionally. And my younger brother keeps threatening to move in. There's plenty of space, and I trust Sunbloom, but, you know, just so you're aware." They'd have to be a little careful, just because Sonora wasn't entirely sure how her grandparents would react to a cow and pigeon person on her couch, but they'd done alright with Cyrus so far, and she trusted they could move Elkurud in just fine, too.
"Anyway, I have a really nice place and a lot of extra space, so having more people to fill it up is super nice!" Truly, she just...liked having people around. Liked having more friends, more folks to share her cooking with, more people to talk to at the end of a long day.
There was always so much, and so few people to share it with.
"Oh, uh, you don't have a problem with cats, do you? I have one and he's a little bit of a handful, sometimes. But he's a cuddly little sweetie, too.""Not a Mauvian?" Elkurud asked, and Sonora shook her head. "Ah, too bad. But I don't mind cats at all, as long as they don't mind me." He smiled, warmly. "I think this sounds like a lovely arrangement."

Amateru would've liked to meet the senshi who had helped Elkurud adjust to life on Earth one day, even if El was moving out and away from them. If they were nice enough, perhaps Elkurud and this senshi would continue to be friends. He wanted to ask them so many questions about how Elkurud had adjusted. The kinds of things he'd been baffled by. He wanted to know if they'd reacted similarly to anything, or if the scope of their respective Earth hosts had simply not aligned, in which case, there would be so much to see happen when it was time. He smiled even more sheepishly at Sonora, rubbing the back of his neck. "Thank you for sayin' so. And for allowin' him in. I'm forever in your debt, Miss Sonora." Turning to Elkurud, he added, "And her cat is just delightful. With a lovely name too, though I'd best not say it out here lookin' like this. He likes how warm I am on cold nights. A very gentle little... well, uh, gentleman, too." He hadn't ever really thought he'd be a pet person. Not until he met Mr. Mistletoe. That cat had won him over instantly with how friendly he was, playful he was... The cuddles were so nice, and tossing a toy mouse around on occasion to entertain Mr. Mistletoe was what had made him a little bit happy while trying to adjust to life on Earth. Life without Elkurud. But now he didn't have to worry about that. His fiance was here. Was coming home with him. Nothing in the universe could beat that.
