With the fight over and everyone more or less home in one piece, Hela found herself lingering in mirror space or in those places she’d seen a few others of the court poke around. Part of her wanted to do a head count, another part was confused why she hadn’t been able to power up the same way as she had on the battlefield. Remarque had let her know that her pen needed adjusting but it had been so long since the last time she wasn’t even sure she remembered the cat that had helped’s name.

Sitting down as she looked through the photos she had taken on her camera during it all, she sighed as she looked out at the city down below her. This rooftop mirror was a nice spot, once she’d recently learned of that didn’t set off that nervousness of heights she had. It wasn’t something she’d had up until that falling forever feeling she’d had the last time mirror space had acted up, but now it bothered her sometimes.

With the lack of fighting between sides right now, Desiree had taken on her more humanoid form while keeping that medallion that kept her signature hidden. It was a miraculous little thing she’d found down in the Dark Kingdom among debris she’d been poking around in while looking for parts to work on things.

Pausing to listen as Hedwig spoke, she nodded thoughtfully as she tapped her cheek slightly. Part of her face still tingled from where she’d been struck by lightning during the fight, and a creeping bit of a scar now poked out from her collar on her throat. “Yes, something feels a bit different about this one, unstable almost.” It felt almost like Liam had but in a different way, almost as if they’d tapped into that power without having the ability to reliably call upon it. It piqued her curiosity as she let Hedwig lead, something she often did, given he had better sight than she had. Keeping hold of the senshi by gripping part of their trailing overlay, she kept her ears focused on any sounds as they moved towards that other senshi.

Hearing voices, Hela moved slightly closer to the edge of the rooftop. She could feel someone familiar, and after getting to a position she could see better from, she recognized the other mirror senshi she had seen in the room with the ballista not to long ago.

Perking up, she started down the fire escape with ease, something she’d been used to before this whole magic thing because of her times exploring some abandoned places. The fire escapes usually being one of the few things that remain stable long after people move out of a place.

Nearing the bottom, she called out to them. “Oh! Hedwig! Are ya doin’ alright?” Keeping her eyes on the man as she hurried closer, even as they had been walking in her direction. For a moment, she was confused by the taller woman with cat ears and a tail. They didn’t feel like anything in particular, which had her confused as she slowed her approach.

The corner of her lip curled up in a slight smile at the Frenchman’s mention of her knowledge on topics. Even if he wasn’t as involved as she’d liked him to be, he’d been getting at least marginally better since the storm started. Their absence at the fight didn’t surprise her, though, and it also didn’t bother her, considering he was only a basic senshi when it came down to it. Having to manage him in such a fight would have been a detriment to her and Melpomene.

“I can, at least in part, since some things are a bit more difficult to explain without having been there to witness what occurred.” It had been difficult and heartbreaking for a little while, but everyone was back home, from what she could tell.

Noticing the senshi hurtling down the fire escape, she was fascinated by how well they were maneuvering down it. It looked like not being able to teleport hadn’t been much of an issue for this senshi.

Looking the red and black garbed woman up and down, Desiree’s eyes narrowed as she nodded with the confirmation of the thoughts she had mentioned to Hedwig just moments before. “Hello there, little one, do you know my Hedwig?” Looking slightly at the man next to her before looking back at this new to her senshi.

Sure, the cattish woman might be taller, but she didn’t feel like they looked that much older than she was. Looking at them for a moment more, she nodded at Hedwig and smiled. She was a little surprised he said he was glad to see her, she’d thought they’d probably forgotten about her already, considering the feeling she got over him not wanting to deal with stuff.

“Oh yeah, just a little while ago we met, before the big thing.” Nodding, she added a bit more to what Hedwig had explained. But then she did frown just slightly as he asked about how she was. “Well, I’m in a bit of a pickle, I guess. During the big thing, some extra weird mirror space stuff happened, and I ended up getting a promotion. But without the proper order of things, I guess. I remember you mentioned a tech kitty when we spoke last, I think I need to meet with one again for them to fix my pen.” Looking at the woman with ears that had no signature or feel to her, Hela wasn’t exactly sure if they were a cat or just a random person. It didn’t make much sense to her, honestly.

Perking up once the problem was mentioned, Desiree took a few steps closer to stand next to Hedwig and Hela. “That’s a new way I’ve heard us called. Not a bad name I would suppose but not every mauvian is adept with technology.” She couldn’t say much outside of the few she knew, but she had picked up on a new mauvian while overhearing a commotion during a recent one of Aloysius’s checkups.

“Interesting order of things though, you are correct about the pen usually getting adjusted first to help with things, but the mirror does have a will of its own.” Saying it in such a way that they both could tell she wasn’t exactly pleased or disappointed with that fact. It could have been a number of factors, considering all the things that happened during that fight, but it wasn’t as if any of the larger powers had exact manuals outside of the Negaverse.

“Desiree is my name, little one. I assume that he originally brought me up in conversation about another technological matter, but this takes precedence.” Gesturing vaguely at Hela, she pulled a few things from subspace as she looked them over. It would be easier to handle it in this form, something she was delighted to get the chance to test out.

Listening to the woman explain things, she got the feeling they knew a lot of how this all worked which felt reassuring. She hadn’t exactly been worried yet but without knowing one of the mauvians herself she wasn’t sure what her next move was without bothering Remarque again and she felt like he deserved a break after the big battle. It must have taken a lot out of him to keep everyone in their little group of dark mirror senshi from most harm.

Holding the pen out to Desiree, Hela looked back at Hedwig for a moment. “Well I guess it’s a good a time as any yea. I hope it doesn’t give ya too much trouble Desiree.” Watching as the mauvian worked, she hadn’t gotten to see what the other one had done since they’d been a cat and hunched over the thing last time.

“Yes of course I can, what do you take me for?” Eyeing Hedwig as she accepted the pen from Hela. After having done this before for a few mirror senshi at this point, she knew her way around them better. With her tools in hand, she fiddled with the thing as she focused, her ears pressing down flatter against her hair as she went.

They seemed polite enough at least, and from what she could tell, they had participated in the large battle against the Hollow. Which was admirable on top of the fact that this clownish looking senshi seemed to be better off than either Melpomene or Chalcanthite was after things. Part of her wondered if the blonde would have been better off with his court but she knew it was an impossibility as long as her musician was on the field. It was slightly frustrating but she could neither blame them nor praise them for getting through it relatively in one piece.

Once she was done, the pen’s form now taking on a new shape, she offered the pen back to Hela. “There you go little one, since you must have gone through a mirror to take on the power of an Eternal, you have no need to do anything else now that this is upgraded. The words you need to power up should already be there on the tip of your tongue so in the future you should have no issues.”

Tucking things away into her subspace, she adjusted her vest and tie slightly to make sure she still looked proper. “If you do need anything else, Hedwig here can always act as a go between, I could use another set of eyes on him anyway.” Offering a smile that thinly veiled her opinion of the senshi of adoration, she was only slightly disappointed to be done with some sort of productive work for the evening.

Taking the pen back, she nodded and tucked it away. “Thank you Desiree.” Feeling a bit awkward about the conversation that seemed to be happening and the fact that she might have been correct about Hedwig not really being very active, she was surprised that they had such a hardworking Mauvian watching them.

“I hope the rest of your night goes well though, I need ta get ready for my last finals this comin’ week though. See you again soon?” Nodding towards Hedwig, she slowly scooted away as she moved back towards the direction of one of her preferred mirrors. At least things wouldn’t be janky anymore when it came to her pen but she felt like the mauvian was volunteering her to babysit the other senshi when she was pretty sure they were older than her.

It wouldn’t be the first time though, but unlike Hybris she didn’t really know if Hedwig was in classes or doing the same sort of things.

Smiling again and giving a little wave as Hela left, she turned back to Hedwig. “A pleasant little one, seems more proactive than some others.” This time not just meaning Hedwig, for she knew many corrupts that also were slacking on things.

“Let’s head out as well, it’s been a productive enough night so perhaps a quick bite to eat before we head to our separate homes.” It would be a nice little break from things, which she begrudgingly accepted the need for after noticing the snakelike scar she had creeping up her neck. That lightning had been intolerable, even if poor Xyla had taken the brunt of the damage.

It would be a slow few weeks as she got back into things but she had a new little side project she was toying with involving the little crystal she’d found on the field. The idea of looking for a better way to help defend herself as well as those on Chal or Melpomene’s team was now a priority after experiencing her lack of ability in a fight with the past two missions having gone less than ideally.
