All of this felt...pointless.
Nagyagite wanted to hold out hope that Selenga and his Princess might be able to help fix whatever had been done to him. But honestly, it was hard to believe that all of this had been so simple and fixable for so ******** long--that he'd festered, bitterly, for years, and all he'd needed was to meet the right person.
Though, if he was fair, he hadn't really thought about leaving before....very recently. Before it had become clear that he wanted something more than festering in his own bitterness.
But the thing was, he didn't want to just assume he was going to be leaving sometime soon. It felt...naive. Silly, even. So instead, he resolved to do his stupid job.
At least he didn't have to go up to people to drain them. He could tuck himself away in a dark corner of the park, hidden under a tree, and draw from the twilight joggers on the nearby path. And they probably wouldn't even notice. Win-win, or whatever.

Troilus always wanted to believe the best of people. To give them a chance. Right now, this Negaverse agent he was tracking was draining people, though, and Pyrrhus's words rattled in his head. Chaos infected bastards. Keep your hands clean, while I do the dirty work. He shivered a little bit. This was going to haunt him. He just wanted to do the right thing. The right thing was bare minimum stopping an agent from draining energy. He slipped up as quietly as he could. "Enthused Gasp." Quote: As Troilus speaks his attack's name, the magic ripples out. Enemies within radius of 12 feet will experience restless energy, racing heartbeat, and a slightly clouded ability to think assault the enemies around him. Their thoughts start to focus on the last thing they had been enthusiastic about—the latest patch for their favorite video game, a new cookbook by their favorite chef, or even enthusiasm about killing Troilus (or allies). This spell lasts 30 seconds, has 3 uses, and a radius of 10 feet.

It took Nagyagite a moment to realize what was happening to him, when the sudden burst of enthusiasm struck him out of nowhere. A burning desire to do something, a surge of...
Wow, he had not felt that in a long time. That was maybe something to worry about. Later. If ever.
His thoughts were drawn, strangely and without real prompting, to the Calamitous Hollow. How eager he'd been to see it brought down. How sure he'd felt, then, that he was doing something right.
And he knew it had to be magic, because that wasn't going to come to him out of nowhere.
Scowling, he tucked his harvest of energy away and turned his focus to finding the person that had attacked him.
"Fight me face to face," he said, "if you're going to throw your magic around."

Troilus stepped out from behind a tree and waved. "All I really wanted to do was distract you. You know, taking energy like that, not cool and all. Also, I find it interesting that you didn't just try to go after me. So what did my magic make you excited about?" he asked curiously, tilting his head and ignoring the way his tail wagged slightly. Sue him, he was enthusiastic about his own magic and its effects! That was kind of like, his whole deal. If Pyrrhus happened to walk by for whatever reason, Troilus would... well... not really know how to explain the situation of scientific... magical...??? curiosity and experiementation, but whatever, he was fine, the guy wasn't trying to kill him, and besides, how fast could a snake-man be, anyway?

"Do all of you rehearse this ******** lecture?" Nagyagite asked. "Of course I know it's not cool or whatever. That's not the ******** point." He bared his fangs, hissing as half a threat.
"And it's not any of your ******** business, what your magic did." Honestly, why the ******** would that be something he wanted to share with a total stranger? Who did these Senshi think they were?
(His future ******** allies, if all went well. That was a sobering thought. He was going to have to deal with so much more of this. Would they think he was one of them, an eager do-gooder?)

Success! This agent was definitely distracted from doing his job now, and while he was making threat displays, Troilus... didn't really feel like they were meant to do more than scare him off, rather than invite him to fight. Maybe he should've had more trauma from fighting the Calamitous Hollow or something, but he didn't feel that way. "Alright, sorry I asked," he said easily. "I'm just, ah, let's say enthusiastic about my magic. Senshi of Enthusiasm, kind of the whole deal." He shrugged. "I am pretty sure your question was rhetorical, but no, I didn't rehearse that one. Do you think me saying 'hey, that isn't cool' was the extent of my trying to stop you?" he asked with raised eyebrows. "I'd at least try to be more convincing if that's what I was doing instead of just explaining why I'm here in the most passive way possible to get at what I really wanted to know. Which is something you're not willing to share, so." He shrugged again. "Do you want to hear my actual arguments against energy draining, instead of my flippant one?"

The Senshi of ******** Enthusiasm Well, alright,t hat was weirdly reassuring, because at least that might just be a quirk of this particular weirdo's personality. Not that Nagyagite ought to be judging someone's relative weirdness, given everything about him, but here he was, doing it regardless.
"In my experience," Nagyagite deadpanned, "the surprise attack and the sanctimonious speech go hand in hand. But no, I don't want to hear your whole argument. One, I've probably heard it," he held up a finger to punctuate counting out his points, "two: I know, and three: I absolutely could not care less. Save your breath. You've made what was already a chore sufficiently annoying that I'm not interested in bothering with more tonight. Good work."

Troilus grinned and gave a dramatic, sweeping bow. "Thank you, thank you, I'll be out all night if you would like a repeat performance of my wonderful annoyance," he said as he perked back up, grinning and tail wagging. "Have a good rest of your night!" Man, Pyrrhus would probably kill him if he knew what Troilus had just done. But he couldn't help it. If the guy was so easily discouraged, maybe he could be swayed away. There had to be something he could do to help the folks with Chaos in their souls. There had to be. He refused to believe there wasn't a solution.
