xxx𝓟𝒆𝓻𝓼𝓸𝓷𝓪𝓵𝓲𝓽𝔂xxx xxxxx⇾Sᴜʙᴍɪssɪᴠᴇ While Ivona didn’t used to be submissive, years of abuse and cruelty has reshaped her a bit. She used to be a lot more independent, but with Markus’ work, she lost the strongest parts of herself.
xxxxx⇾Mᴀᴛᴇʀɴᴀʟ Even though she wasn’t allowed specifically to raise the boys once they got older, Ivona quite loved her children. When they were babies, she loved holding and comforting them. As they grew up, she tried to protect them, even when they inevitably turned against her for their father’s orders.
xxxxx⇾Cʀᴇᴀᴛɪᴠᴇ Though she hasn’t particularly been allowed to express her creative side, Ivona kept her creative thinking. She’s never been one to use cold, calculating logic to solve problems, but instead using different strategies to find solutions. Occasionally she stole away to the music room, hiding her notes as she let loose her creativity before returning to the mask she was forced to wear.
xxxxx⇾Eᴍᴘᴀᴛʜᴇᴛɪᴄ Ivona has always been easily swayed by the emotions of others. Even though she has to keep herself neutral, she feels others’ emotions as deeply as her own, especially when it comes to members of her own family.
xxxxx⇾Sᴇᴄʀᴇᴛɪᴠᴇ When one is the victim of lifelong abuses, one must learn to keep themself private. She learned quickly to hide her own thoughts and emotions, while doing everything in her power to defy her husband. Her work was always in subtle, secret ways, but she did whatever she could, wherever she could.
xxxxx⇾Iɴᴛᴇʟʟɪɢᴇɴᴛ Ivona has always been incredibly smart. From her ability to work out problems to her knowledge of books, history, and magic itself, she’s a very smart woman. Her mind has helped her stay alive this whole time, and has been a major asset to herself.

xxx𝒞𝒽𝒾𝓁𝒹𝒽𝑜𝑜𝒹xxx Born to Berthold & Violetta Botezatu, Ivona had a fairly happy childhood. From riding horses and playing with her cousins to quiet days playing the piano with her mom, she was well cared for. She also enjoyed days at the art museum in the big city, whenever they would go together. Her mother was a strong woman, working on the Dragon Reserve, while her father cared for animals closer to home at a little magical veterinary practice. Through them, she developed an intense love of animals and a strong caretaking love.
xxx𝒮𝒸𝒽𝑜𝑜𝓁 𝒴𝑒𝒶𝓇𝓈xxx Once she finally made it to Durmstrang, Ivona was sorted into Keltainen for her creativity and smarts. It was awesome. She quickly made friends with her housemates, then to people further along. Second year, she joined the Quidditch team, playing Chaser. It was super fun!
She did well in her studies and her clubs, even proving herself as the top of class in a few subjects. She worked hard to keep up with everything, wanting to be the very best she could. With fifth year studies also came a first date with a cute boy in her year. He was charming and Ivona quickly fell head over heels.
Sixth year, Ivona was made captain of the Keltainen quidditch team, who’s badge joined her prefect title. She and Markus went on a few dates and his effortless confidence had her hooked. As they continued spending time, she fell deeper and deeper into his affection. In seventh year, Markus offered his family crest ring, saying it meant they’d be together forever. It was so romantic! She graduated with honors, then quickly moved in with her True Love.
xxx𝒜𝒹𝓊𝓁𝓉𝒽𝑜𝑜𝒹xxx As soon as she’d graduated, Markus offered her space in his home and she moved in happily. She was absolutely enamored by him, and he used his charm to make sure of it. He even bought her a beautiful grand piano when she expressed missing the one at school. Shortly thereafter, they were officially engaged and Ivona moved on to planning the perfect wedding. Wedding bliss became wonderful news of expecting a child. News that Ivona was excited to share, but Markus was immediately controlling. She had to follow a specific diet, do things exactly “perfect” as he explained. It got worse, so much worse when they found out she was carrying a son. She was locked inside and forced to do things exactly as Markus informed. He even made her have the baby in that room with only a midwife to help. But the sweet baby, Dmitry, was born so perfectly.
Ivona hoped that spelled the end of Markus’ controlling behavior. Perhaps it was just because he was worried about the pregnancy? But then everything got worse. She was more or less forced into servitude, with Markus threatening to hold away her baby from her or beat her if she did anything he didn’t approve. She spent as much time as possible with her son, even after she got pregnant. Once they were old enough to walk and talk, Markus began training. And it was in this loop she lived through Dmitry, Augustín, Alexi and Matej. She loved each of them with her whole heart, even as they got older and turned into smaller versions of their father.
Her next baby was a girl, and Ivona cried in relief thinking she’d have a daughter kept safe from Markus’ work. If he wanted boys for his raising, then surely a girl could be raised and kept safe by her, right? It wasn’t until she was born, named Ioana Nicoletta, and set to sleep that night that Ivona realized the error of her ways. By the time Ivona went to check on her, the baby was gone. Markus refused to tell her what he did with the baby, just saying she wasn’t their problem any further. He promised that if she gave him another son, he’d tell what happened. Before she had a lot of time to recover, Ivona was quickly pregnant again.
She cried when they went to find out the gender, which revealed to be a boy. Maybe, just maybe, she’d see her daughter again. After having the baby, named Radovan, Markus said he’d given Ioana to his brother for them to raise, but forbade Ivona from seeing the child. Instead, she held her newest baby close until he, too, was taken under the wing of his brothers. She had another two babies, Serghei and Demyan. With the youngest, her body was incredibly pained. The doctor warned she shouldn’t have more. Of course, Markus didn’t care, and he told her if she wouldn’t carry more, he’d seek others who would.
Ivona did fall pregnant again, though she also fell very ill. She discovered the baby would be a girl and knew she would need to keep the baby safe, but under her own terms. Finding the woman Markus had paid to surrogate, Ivona hatched her plan. She paid the woman to lie about her baby and to keep this one safe. After being offered a large sum of money, Gwen Eynon agreed. Ivona faked that she’d lost the baby, while secretly she traveled to Wales. She had the baby and the women agreed to name her Llewella Mari Eynon. After a soft goodbye, Ivona was back home to heal. Markus decided to move the training to the seven boys he had, though it wasn’t out of concern for his wife by any means.
As the boys grew and were trained and abused, Ivona tried to help where she could, but most of them became just as ruthless as their father. She was forced to detach as best she could in order to stay alive long enough to keep her sons safe. It wasn’t until four years later that anything changed. Ivona received a letter from Gwen, saying that she was dying. That she wouldn’t be able to uphold their deal much longer. She wrote back, begging to keep Llewella with anyone, anyone at all, but it was too late.
The young girl was brought to the Antonov Manor by a member of the Romanian Child Services team. They promised to continue checking in on her and for a moment, Ivona breathed a sigh of relief. Markus wouldn’t be able to simply get rid of her. Of course, she wouldn’t be able to do much about his abuses to the girl, but at least Ivona could keep her alive, much like she did for her sons.
The more Markus focused on training the boys, the more Llewella managed to hide. Markus forced her to remain hidden, secret, from anyone that knew the family. The boys were forbidden from speaking about her or offering any sort of kindness. Unfortunately, most of them used her (and their brothers, of course) to take out their frustrations on. Ivona did her best to heal all her kids, but there were times even she was forbidden from kindnesses.
It wasn’t until a little later that Llewella had received two invitations. She could follow the family to Durmstrang, or she could take advantage of Ivona having her in the UK and go to Hogwarts, where she’d be safe. Markus made the choice and the girl was shipped off. Only a few months later and Markus packed up the family and they moved to a different Manor, deeper in the mountains. Shortly after that, he announced that Llewella had passed away. Ivona was disgusted that some of her sons cheered. Markus had turned them into monsters. In privacy, Markus allowed her to question him, and he said she passed of the same disease that had killed Gwen. At that moment, Ivona knew the truth. It simply could not have been possible. But to him, Ivona allowed herself to grieve, letting him play the protector. But as soon as she was alone, she began to plan.
She worked to try and prevent as many of her boys as possible to not join Markus’ soldiers. It... somewhat worked. A couple years later, Serghei fought back. He transferred to Hogwarts. He stole from Markus and almost died for it, but he escaped. That day, Ivona cried. Her movements, despite their subtlety, had worked. The other boys were trained harder, but she noticed another potential. One that, despite exceptional skill, always sent glares after his brothers. Radovan would be the next to be saved.
Ivona carefully left out information on Serghei’s whereabouts for him to find, before destroying the records to hide them from her husband. From there it was a small step. She slipped out in the night to find Ioana, her first daughter, along with all the other women from the Antonov line. Sisters-in-law, daughters-in-law, and herself. She helped train them with defensive magics and healings, knowing they would need to be prepared to defy the men. They would be better soldiers, and better, entirely unexpected.
After Radovan had sneaked to Serghei’s house, Ivona very, very quietly asked if Llewella was still alive. Their gazes lingered too long before he quietly said he could not speak. She was alive, and apparently well enough. She’d been adopted by a long standing pureblood family, the Greys, and had become a happy, if still quiet, young girl. She had survived. And with that, Ivona started telling Radovan her plans. All but himself and Serghei had been inducted into Markus’ army, but so long as she’d saved some of them, so long as she was able to save some of her children... well, as Markus always said, there would always be victims to war. If she could keep some of them safe, that would be a perfect act of defiance.
