Lady Amala, blissfully unaware of her surroundings while foraging for the tastiest plants, had found herself stuck on an impromptu island while the floodwaters rose around her. She'd been fortunate enough to be on the tiny hill when the wave of water rushed toward her, but now... She stared at the bank, trying to figure out how to get to higher ground safely. She was horrible at flying, and getting wet was not an option; she was even worse at swimming. A scent distracted her from her thoughts and she turned toward the source; a tiny clump of delicious looking plants just beginning to sprout. Her mouth watering, the peril quickly forgotten, she trotted over and shoved her face into the succulent vegetation and began chomping away, tail twitching in delight.

Meet Ah'koni and Kah'leo, two clairvoyant identical twins, with and uncanny bond and a flair for the dramatic. The Boys have shared visions since before they could even speak. The twin syndrome they have makes them inseparable. They finish each other's sentences, wear the same accessoriesand wildly enough, even share the same dreams. Part of a fox herd, but having no fox features themselves, they tend to travel often. Both go where their senses are drawn to. They can be a bit theatrical when interacting with others. Each take turns being the good twin, or the bad twin. It's a ruse though, and both are good natured. They just have their own way of doing things.
As the sky cleared after a massive winter storm, both were caught in a vision. Their wires glazed over and their jaw went slack.
"Well, it seems someone is either hungry or stranded?" 'Koni says as terror wires come back into focus.
"Or both. I sense so much water. Should be a fun day!" Kah says in reply.
"Come, let us head this way." They both say simultaneously as they head north.
They travel by gut feeling till they reach a roaring, loud river. The waters murky and brown as it makes a path across the land.
The twins exchange a look, talking without saying a word. This river had not been there before! They follow the river upstream, avoiding the muddy, soft earth that surround the raging rapids.

Amala, mid-forage, felt her hooves suddenly wet and pulled away from the delicious clump to see the waters had risen yet again. Were they constantly on the rise? She thought it was done already! Or maybe she'd wandered too close to the edge without noticing. With a distressed whine, she scurried further in to the center of her ever-shrinking island of safety. Looking forlornly at the clump as it became submerged, she lifted her gaze to the opposite shore. There was a point where the newly-formed river narrowed, and bits of flotsam caught up by the river's torrent flowed by. If something large enough were to float down the river at just the right angle and get stuck at that narrow point... Usually the only thing large enough for that would be an uprooted tree. Yummy... Tree leaves are so hard to snack on... Her eyes misted over as she began to daydream about the possible yummy leaves she might be able to snack on from the storm's debris.

Together the two walk north. Every now and then, their steps in sync, like a practiced march. As the followed the river, then came upon a flooding small mound of earth. Atop it, a white speck. Ah'koni pointed with his chin, into the distance. Kah'leo nodded, in confirmation as they headed towards the squeaking white smudge on the quickly fading hill.
Ah'koni stepped up to the shore, hooves sinking down into the flooded grass beneath. The ground surprisingly solid below the water. "Small friend, are you in need of aid?" he called in a friendly voice. Antlers tilting to the side as they spoke.
Kah'leo made a snide remark under his breath, likely unheard over the raging waters. "If we didn't help them, they might drown. It's what we came for after all." They both knew the obvious, but it was part of their dynamic for one of the twins to always be blunt and forward. Even though they took turns deciding who would be that stern voice.
Kah'leo feigned disinterest, gazing off into the distance, while Ah'koni gave the stranger a warm smile.

Giving herself a mental shake after hearing someone call out, she paced along the water's edge while waiting for an opening. "Aid, yes, that would be lovely." Amala looked up to see a pair of stallions staring across the muddy floodwaters and blinked. Oh. Twins. Fun! she thought, this being the first time she had ever seen a pair. "Is there a yummy tree nearby on your side that looks like it's ready to topple? Upriver is best cuz there's a narrow point here that it can get stuck on. Promise I won't try to nibble it until I'm safely across." She paused. "Well, I promise I'll TRY to not nibble..." If the tree's leaves smelled too tasty it would be hard for her to resist the temptation. Even in peril, she was easily distracted by succulent vegetation. If she had been more observant at the beginning, she would not have ended up in this situation.

Ah'koni and Kah'leo walk to the edge of the river. Hooves stood at the edge of the raging, swollen river, where the water is at its narrowest between them and the fading island. "No log, just us." Ah'koni says. The two don't see exact images, but possibilities. A log was not one of them. "I hope that's okay!" he says as he carefully, starts to wade in the water, hooves striking the torrent. "Are you okay?" He asks, trying to distract his tiny friend from the water rising behind her.
Kah'leo pushes in behind his brother. He waits closer to the edge.
Ah'koni walks deeper into the water, very cautiously. The water rises up to his chest, and pulls at his golden hair. "I bet we can find you something to nibble. Would you like that?" He tried to hurry as much as he could. He stood in the narrow section of the river, about a foot from the island. If he got closer than that, he would hit the mound of earth under the water. "Can you come a little closer?" The water didn't cover his back luckily.
A few feet behind his flank, his twin stood ready. They would use themselves as a makeshift bridge.

Lady Amala leaned her head to the left, trying to figure out just what they meant by "just us". Her answer swiftly came when she saw them wading into the river, lined up like rocks in a stream's crossing. "Oh! I didn't think you'd do such a thing for me. Are... are you sure-" She cut herself off, knowing the answer. Of course they were certain. Why else would they wade into a cold murky river? She needed to move quickly before bits of heavier debris came barreling their way and harmed the stallions. "I can try; not much of a flier... but I'll do my best! Especially since I don't want to hurt such kind souls."
Backing up a few paces, she took a running leap, fluttering her wings furiously to skip across the first brother's back. "Sorry! Sorry!" She fidgeted, straining her wings to make herself hover. Just a bit longer... almost there... The second brother was almost within reach. Bunching up for a leap, she squeaked as she almost missed the landing and her hind hooves dipped into the water. She was tiring quickly, not used to using her wings for so long, but she wished to move swiftly. The twins were being so generous, and brave; it wouldn't do for her to dally and keep them in the frigid meltwater any longer than necessary.
"Food would be lovely... Maybe a nice snack after this. Know any tasty shrubs nearby?"

Ah'koni isn't surprised very often. Being clairvoyant clears the mind of the sensation you get from the unexpected because everything they deal with is the unexpected. But when the tiny black speckled white mini went to make a leap onto his back, his eyes widened, genuinely surprised. "Oh!" He says as he quickly lowers his head to make it easier for her to flit over "So brave! Careful. You're doing great." He encourages, watching her life a concerned mother hen. He turns quickly and follows her as she jumps on his brother's back. It's a reflex for him to use his antlers to steady her when she almost slips in and is threatened to be swept away from him by the rivers current. He hmphs with concern.
Kah'leo steadies himself and turns his head to the other side of her. Mirroring his brother with his antlers, she is partially braced in from falling into the river. If she slips hard enough there's likely not much they could do without impaling her. But they try their best. Kah'leo slowly reverses his steps out of the river with his brother following beside him.
"Let's get you to dry land, then you can have snacks." They say in almost perfect unison.

Not realizing she had frozen in place, Lady Amala remained still when she noticed the antlers on either side of her. They may be there to try and brace her, but antlers could break, and they were very sharp if you moved the wrong way... Fluttering her wings to keep her balance as they moved, her hoof brushed against the flowers draped over the flank of the stallion she stood upon. Oh these look yummy-wait. No. Not now. She quivered, trying to restrain herself. Once on solid ground, all bets were off, but until then she had to rule herself with an iron will. And that iron was melting as fast as an ingot in a red-hot forge. "I wish I knew how to repay you both for your kindness and bravery." She said, seeing the shoreline growing closer. The scent of the flowers right underneath her nose was a dangerous distraction and she was trying everything to keep her mind off of them.

Kah'leo smirks at her fluttering wings, and straightens his head once they are over safe land. Now how to get her down safely? He didn't want to watch her strain herself with her teeny little flutters. It looked like a great effort for those dusted white pillow wings to carry her. He gazed around to find a rock, or a stump he could lean her down into. For now, he did not fuss over her standing on his back.
Ah'koni grins at the brave little mini. He moves his antlers away and makes sure she's okay to stand there for the moment.
Ah'koni waggles his eyebrows at the mini, noticing her line of sight. "Those flowers look tasty, don't they? Kah'leo wouldn't mind if you gave them a little munch. Actually, here." He bent over towards his brothers rump, removed the flowers that the small white usdia is practically drooling over, and carefully begins to loop them around her neck. He is very mindful of her antennae and nestles them over them with care. Then to rest them on her neck, and step back to look at her. "A tasty souvenir of all that transpired today! Your tummy will be glad for it I bet."
Kah'leo glares ice daggers at his brother giving away his flower lei. Not that he minded that much. They made fresh ones often, to wear around. "I'm going to set you down here on this rock." he said with a firm tone, as he moved over to a boulder close by. He bends his front knees slightly, to angle her to the rocks surface.
The angry waters behind them, had already swallowed up that piece of land, capsizing the whole area they had all previously been standing. It's as if the river Goddess had waited to fill this area with her blessing of life. To not take any of the lives that stood in her way. Once they were gone, she let the melted cold waters flow. Ah'koni whistles, looking back at where they were. "Hopefully in a few weeks, those waters will subside. I'm glad we are all here on land, albeit, a bit muddy and wet." he gestures to himself. His and his brothers white coats are mottled with dirt, leaves, and grass. Drops of water cling to their coat.
"I'm Ah'koni by the way. If you should ever need us again, we'll be around." He winked at her in a platonic, friendly way. Like a big brother might to his little sister.
"Kah'leo." the other says, flicking his tail hard, in hopes of slinging some water at the mini. Just a few drops maybe. He grins at his own antics.

Giving a squeak of surprise, Lady Amala nostrils flared at the scent of the flowers that were now draped around her neck. Her stomach chose that moment to voice its complaints. Soon, tummy, soon! She thought, carefully jumping off Kahleo's back onto the rock, and then hopped to the ground. While not entirely dry, for there was still some dampness in the earth from the recent snowmelt which had caused the birth of the flash flood now behind them, it was much firmer. Seeing the twins drenched and dirty, she hung her head. "I'm so sorry. I only wanted some yummy plants and got stuck, and then you two got cold and dirty because of that." Hanging her head had brought her nose closer to the gifted lei, and her stomach reminded her of her promise. Maybe just a little nibble now... Distracted by the desire to munch away, all thoughts emptied from her head as soon as she took that first little bite. Oooooooh these are good. Not as tasty as FRESH ones would be but still amazing. Wonder where they got these? More please! She didn't even notice the water droplets being flung her way by the mischievous brother.
Soon she had half of the lei gone, and it slipped from her shoulders and onto the damp earth. Just as she was about to shove her nose into the pile to finish them, she remembered that the pair had introduced themselves. "Oh! Right! I'm Lady Amala. But you can call me Amala. Really can't thank you enough for everything." Her tail gave a happy wiggle, almost like a lamb shaking its tail, before she shoved her face into the dwindling remains of the lei. A few bites later and she was looking forlornly down at the scattered petals, the only sign left of the lei's existence. "I think there's some really succulent bushes nearby, but the river might have eaten them up like it did that hillock you saved me from." Turning her head to look behind her, she blinked in confusion. Where was that hillock? There wasn't even a faint bump above the water's murky surface anymore. "Not... sure where it's at now though since my landmark's gone." She was not directionally challenged, she just heavily relied upon landmarks to remember where she was and where to go. Bother. Now what was she to do? "Oh well. Time for the next adventure!" She perked up and, her hooves slightly muddied from her latest adventure, she trotted in a random direction, a pep in her step making it seem as if she was prancing along.
