It was vexing that their need to assist order was blatantly obvious. As much as he loathed the mere thought of assisting order, he was more inclined for Earth to survive the assault of a calamity. This was their home, his home. There were no other options unless people fled to worlds that had been uninhabitated for hundreds of years, and that option rested squarely with order. Those aligned with Metallia would likely be left to the mercy of ‘The Calamitous Hollow’. So, he’d dedicated himself to the task at hand.
Every available time he had, Heliodor teleported to the city and got to work. The way energy seemed to just flow to him with increased haste and ease was incredible to feel and watch. There was certainly an uptick in how many Destiny City civilians were left to recoup around the city, but Helio felt no guilt for it. It was their duty as beings of Earth to give up their energy as much as it was Helio’s duty to collect it.
A storm crackled in the distance as dark clouds loomed and rolled over head. This one was a natural storm. Something born of the Earth itself and not supercharged like many others. It wouldn’t be long until the skies opened up and let a torrential downpour of rain to soak him and the city. Hopefully, it wouldn’t be a long one or else finding easy, quick sources of energy would become more difficult.
Vaguely, he wondered how quickly he could drain a small room of people now. There were certainly small establishments that people would run to in the rain. Hole-in-the-wall bars would also make for easy spots.
All of this rolled around in his mind as he pulled orbs of energy from a couple. By the way the man was dressed in slacks and a button down and the woman in a tight-fitting black dress, it was likely they had been heading out for a date. Well, let them enjoy a nice nap together in the ally that led to one of those small afformentioned bars.
The orbs disappeared as he sent them off to join the well of energy the Negaverse was creating. He sighed and looked up at the sky as the first drops of rain began. “Things can’t ever be easy.” He mumbled to himself.
He’d put the efforts of rebuilding his new civilian life on hold with the predicament they were facing. While he did small things, like speaking to people in creating his new persona, taking care of paperwork to make Cassian Yarrow a true blue person that could be easily traced as someone with a history and education, it hadn’t gone much further than that. Hell, he hadn’t even thought about finding an apartment. Kind of hard to want to find and make a home for himself with the calamity of the world looming over him. No, it was better right now that he focused his energy on helping in whatever way he could. He had a home at the team house and honestly he was enjoying his time there now that he’d settled in.
The rain came in a sheet. Small, threatening drops became a torrential downpour and people on the streets began to flee to nearby buildings.
A man practically ran right into Heliodor as he turned the corner to slip down the ally and to the bar at the other end.
“Whoa. Hey what…Hey! What did you do?! What is thi….”
He didn’t get much further before Helio grabbed him, shoved him against the brick wall all while siphoning energy from him post haste.
The man was left in a heep with the other two while the corrupt, now drenched and miserable, teleported back to the house.
