Taenite was collecting energy. The Queen requested it, and he obeyed. It wasn’t that difficult anyway, and he enjoyed a nice stroll through the city and on the outskirts and in the parks.
With his personal interest in information, it was surprising how little was buzzing around them. Strange weather phenomena were interesting to a niche group, apparently. Chasing storms, or just deciding it was a weird thing in Destiny City and not something to worry themselves with.
If only the fools knew. It was a shame that there was no escaping the calamity that was coming for them. At least none that was available to the Negaverse. Perhaps the Dark Kingdom would survive whatever creature came to devour the world. Maybe they all deserved it. Maybe they would all suffer for whatever sins they’d committed.
Or maybe it would just blow over and they would all laugh and get drunk.
“It must be serious if you’re out here, boss,” Taenite observed with amused surprise as he approached Axinite at the top of a building. He’d felt the aura and teleported up to see who else was wandering around that night. Staying so close to the swirling storm didn’t seem very wise, even if there were taller buildings in the area.
Not that it bothered Taenite too much. Even with the sparking energy, there weren’t any strikes. At least not yet.
He placed one hand on his hip and the other hand he held out, drawing the energy from around them into a crackling orb.
