He knew he really shouldn’t go bothering someone who clearly didn’t want to be bothered, he wasn’t out to bother another ancient senshi like himself, but she knew things and he wanted to compare notes with her. Always one who was interested in knowledge, and its collection and preservation, Selinur had headed to where he’d run into Portia the last time. It was likely that she’d be there…he just had to be ready for when she stabbed him again.

Once it was dark enough, and he didn’t have to worry about his appearance, the fox like senshi had made his approach. He knew she’d sense him, he could sense her already, there was no way she wasn’t on guard all things considered. She seemed a bit paranoid already, or at least the sort to be weary and cautious, so he knew he’d been figured and didn’t bother to hide himself as he went right for the door. His hands were held up, hoping to placate her and keep her from attacking him outright.

“Mind a visit from a fellow ancient?” He called out, ears moving, twitching, as they tried to pick up any sound offered from inside. His tail hung down his back, unmoving, he was waiting and tense as if he might just need to duck or run at a moments notice…and he might really.

She’d already been in a bad mood; that little human of hers hadn’t been by since the storm had started, and she’d had to talk to them about something potentially upsetting to a human. So when she heard that sly fox calling from the other side of her door, she curled her fingers tightly around another pen. Earth had wonderful things called stationery shops, and along with the books that the woman left her, she also had a small collection of different papers and writing implements.

While she didn’t care about her own world, she wasn’t completely displeased with the one human she’d met so far. She felt bad for the woman, with poor enough eyesight that her appearance didn’t seem to scare them off. They also listened, which was more than she could say about the fox she was about to entertain, if only for a moment.

Keeping the pen behind her back as she opened the door, she stared down at the fox with the look of someone who had opened the door to find a pile of s**t on their doorstep.

“I thought I made my opinion of you very clear last time.” Her words came out clipped and quick; she wanted this over so she could see about trying to find her half blind little friend.

“You did indeed and yet you and I both know something dangerous is coming for Earth, we also know if it wins we both go down with this planet.” As neither of them could survive on their homeworlds, of that he was certain, he knew his own world couldn’t support him returning. He was sure her’s was in a similar state as his own, though for some other reason, this meant they needed to help this planet survive.

“You don’t trust me, and that is fine, but this planet is special - we know that. It needs to survive what is coming…and I’d like to see if you know anything on this impending doom…and if You’d like to help save a planet.” He could hope, he really could, but Selinur wasn’t so sure he should even entertain the idea of having hope. She wasn’t social, didn’t like others, but she had to know the situation they were both in along with everyone else on this planet. A thousand years of life and he wasn’t interested in dying just yet, he’d like to see his planet thriving once more first. For that to happen he needed to live through this. He had already noted her hand behind her back, a clear sign she planned to attack him again, and kept his distance so he could avoid whatever she had planned for him.

She clicked her tongue, not quite liking that feeling that this all had felt familiar. “Just like Zieslein, it seems…” She’d thought it was a rumor or the ramblings of a crazed traveler after running into something out in space. It was a logbook, though, so it had been stored in the secondary library with all other donated books from the few outsiders that had made their way there.

“Strange storms and a planet that disappeared with no explanation between trade runs. A fairy tale; nothing confirmed, so nothing worth looking into. I thought it odd but I had more important things to keep focused on. Why would a debris field be important? Unless it managed to find its way to our atmosphere, there wasn’t a reason to poke into it.”

Crossing her arms, she pointed the pen at him threateningly.

“You shouldn’t poke into other people’s business, even if it’s the only thing your planet was good for.” Another rumor, but in her opinion, a rumor like that was enough to keep her distance from them. Discretion was the most important part of her planet’s motivations and even if she wanted to burn it all down, she could agree with keeping people like him at a distance.

He might have corrected her, told her that it was all rumors and slanderous about his people, but he needed to be diplomatic right now. So rather than correct her, even if she was right, he settled for questioning her. “Zieslein? And I’m poking into others business so we all make it out of this alive and know what’s going on. It’s surviving - something we all need to do. This planet must survive.” It was special in how many starseeds were reborn here, rather than spread about the cosmos, they all seemed to be focused here on this single planet. Why not spread them across the cosmos? There were other places alive and well, other places where they could be reborn and grow up and thrive…where they could understand the true vastness of space and what was out there.

But here on some far flung planet where they were isolated and left to grow, sheltered as they were, it was unique and needed to be protected. If this was where dead senshi, and knights, would be gathering then the future of the cosmos was here on Earth.

“Whatever caused that planet to vanish is coming here then. Did your people look into it at all? Did any whispers reach you? Whatever did that is headed here and in this case knowledge, something we are both familiar with, is needed more than almost anything else.”

It sounded like teamwork or her being pulled in as responsible for something she had no real connection to, which soured her mood more.

Quick as can be, she sliced out at him with the tip of the fountain pen, cutting his cheek before pulling her hand back and reading to slam the door in his face.

“Whatever it was, nobody knew and nobody cared about the ravings of a madman. Why would they when there were more important things to worry about. Nothing ahead had anything to do with it so there was no point.” At least not for portians and the council of encryptionists. They were closed off for a reason and she knew it. She still hated it, but she hadn’t found any reason not to continue with tradition.

“If you care so much, go out there yourself and do something. My place is nowhere, I have no issue with a world eater, be it here or back on Portia. Maybe if I’m lucky…. They’ll take out the library first.”
Mumbling the last bit under her breath, she dug her nails into the door as she readied to close it.

Hissing as he felt the slice across his cheek, a wetness welling up and tracking down his cheek. He could feel it dripping down towards his chin. Lovely. “Makes sense, ignoring what people thought were mad ramblings, but now we’re all about to meet what he was rambling about. And while you might not care about your planet, and would even invite it to devour your world, this is not your planet and for the sake of those here who are going to fight - we should as well. I plan to participate, because every bit of magic is needed, this isn’t my home world and those who do call this planet home have been struggling and intend to fight. I will respect that and assist.” Because it wasn’t up to him to decide the fate of this planet, it was his duty to help those who did call this place home.

His people were never much for fighting, they had never needed to, when everyone around you thought you had enough dirt on them to take them out it tended to mean fights didn’t turn up at your doorstep. But he was willing to fight, to do what he’d never had to do, because it was right and it was needed.

“While you might not wish to fight, at least tell me about this mad person's ramblings. To have survived this beast, to have seen what it did, I would like to know what they were saying back then.” Reaching up to wipe some of the blood away, licking at his stained fingers, he rubbed once more to clean more of his cheek off.

Narrowing her eyes, she thought about that little half blind woman for a moment. She'd need to figure something out, but would they understand? Probably not, but maybe she'd let them know to stay out of the weather.

Watching them, she didn't close the door, and tapped her long nails on the door frame. "No record of what happened, only that one month the planet was there and the next month it was a field of debris, crackling storms lingering around it. I doubt they're even alive but if a cockroach like a Selinurian survived then maybe one of their people are still around. Why don't you wander off somewhere more useful to whatever you intend to do? I have more pens where this one and the last one came from, and I can always get more." Pointing it at him again as a drop of blood dripped from its metal tip.

"Need I remind you I don't want to be disturbed by the likes of you." She had things to consider and look over, maybe find a suitable human explanation for things or try inviting the woman in for tea if that was something they liked. It was apparently something people did when having company here, not that she had much experience with that on her planet. It had been rare to have any contact with living people, only with the dead and the books. Every form of contact had come through letters.

"I'm aware you don't like me, and I'm fine with that, but I'd like to hope you enjoy your own life and living. This thing can do to us, to this planet, what it did to that other one. I'm just trying to help in keeping us all alive...and anyone else is good with information it's you." She wasn't like him and his people, much as he'd always deny those rumors ever having been true about his people, he knew the truth and knew his people collected information and hoarded it for themselves just as her people were dedicated to knowledge. It was, in his mind, just a difference in how information was gathered and used.

"I'll keep that bit of information in mind though...storms that lingered even afterwards..." Shaking his head as he stepped back slowly, not wanting to push things further with her.

That was good to know even if it didn't help matters right now. It was still more than he'd had before, and every bit of information was something. Her and Roka really would get along...spending time talking about their dislike for him and his people. If they met he might actually wind up in trouble, and seriously injured.

"Keep safe, do what you must, you know what's coming." Even if she wasn't likely to help, considering her words, but she had to value her own life...right? Didn't everyone? Turning, hoping she wouldn't just attack him from behind, he headed off into the night to see if he couldn't learn more.
