Onasilos surveyed what he could see from the building he'd half-climbed, half-jumped to the top of. It was not the tallest building, but it was tall enough. It was convenient that so many of the buildings had exterior staircases. He did wonder what those were for, but was happy enough to take advantage of them to get where he was. Sitting with his legs dangling over the edge of a roof, he rested his elbows on his knees.

It was dark, but even then, there was plenty of light to see by. He was aware that his clothing was likely very visible because of this, what with it being nearly entirely white. But Onasilos had thought it best to be powered up when wandering around. He was in an unfamiliar location, after all. Who knew what dangers might arise from his surroundings? He had been alone for so long that surely his instincts and reaction times had suffered.

Best not to be an easier target than necessary, then.

He felt the presence of someone else nearby, but they did not seem to be hostile, and so he was content to let them be. He did, however, glance over his shoulder in their vague direction, wondering if he could see them as easily as they could surely see him. Nothing immediately popped out at him, though, so Onasilos went back to looking at the city lights from his perch on the roof.

"Hello," he ventured into the night air after a few minutes. If they could hear him, maybe they'd return the greeting. If they couldn't, then he was harming nothing by talking to himself.

He had done plenty of that over the years.

Ah, that explained it. "Hello!" He returned the child's grin with his own, plus a wave of his own as well. "You may absolutely join me!" Onasilos did not know that the senshi here were sometimes children, and he wondered if that was typical. Sailor Onasilos had awoken as an older adolescent but had not been expected to assume the full mantle of senshi for his people until he was an adult. It left time for finishing schooling and for training in both combat and a vocation; Onasilos had chosen gardening and animal husbandry as his vocations. Combat?

As he waited for the child to join him, Onasilos looked back out over the city, his tail making eddies in the dust and dirt where he sat. It was a sparkling city, lively, with people to and fro even at this hour. A beautiful, lively city.

Archery and slingshot, begrudgingly. He had taken archery and slingshot as his combat training. He had disliked combat training. He liked creating life and studying it in the universities much more than taking it. But he had to know how to defend himself even without his powers, how to teach others to defend themselves when necessary. That required bloodshed and the willingness to cause it. Not every enemy could be taken with words, much as Onasilos had often tried.

He wondered if this child had had cause to see bloodshed.

He hoped not.

"Do you need any assistance?" He leaned forward to check on said child, his jewelry clinking and tinkling around him

There was no offense in Onasilos' response as he grinned again. "No! I'm from Onasilos! It's a very nice place most of the year." Well, it was. Before the centuries of neglect and rot and chaos' influence had gotten to it. But Onasilos still determinedly refused to let that colour his perception of his home. It would be beautiful again one day. He just had to figure out how.

"And I'm from Onasilos, but you can call me Akhaef. I'm the senshi of Self! It's very nice to meet you, Chibi Totoro of Raccoons." The black sclera of his eyes briefly reflected the blinking lights of a plane passing by high overhead. When he spoke and smiled at the same time, there was a flash of canines uncannily just slightly too long. And, when he turned his head to look back over the city, the ear nearest to Totoro stayed oriented toward the chibi. "Your home is a beautiful place. I have yet to tire of exploring it. Though," he hummed thoughtfully, tail swishing back and forth slowly again. "I have yet to find a merchant willing to accept gold in place of local currency when it comes to food and lodging."

A pause. "Here, you may have this. To remember our meeting!" Onasilos shifted, rummaging in a bag next to him. He pulled out a golden bracelet and offered it to Totoro. "It's of no material consequence to me to give this away, so feel no pressure to reject it out of concern for me!" Of all of the gold given to him over the years, few pieces carried with them any real sentimental value, and he had left all of them on his home world. Nor had he brought all of his gold with him, but rather a reasonable amount, and an amount he'd hoped would secure him a place to stay and food to eat.

"It must be late. Do your parents worry?"
