His office was safe, even with the door open a crack, the soft glow of a candle flickering against the wall and giving a warm glow around the door and it's frame. It was a silent, though warm, invitation to anyone who wished to enter. His office, and the spike laid out on his desk, was kept safe by two potted plants that were part of his own personal project.
Able to gather energy from people the blond was kept safe by the golden pin he wore, the starfish one was kept in his desk draw incase anyone visited who had no pin to wear, as he sat going over the data other officers had sent in recently. There wasn't as much as he would have liked, though it was good so far, he really wished they knew everything before going into this. He didn't like the fact there was any bit of information missing, not when there was something so portant going on. Sighing he leaned back in his seat, fingers tugging at his bangs before pushign them back, only for them to flop back about his face.
He really hoped the Negaverse would start offering a retierment package, and other things, maybe stock options in whatever companies they owned across the globe. He was certain they had companies in some parts of the world. Because he was getting old and this, whatever this actually was, had him feeling older than he was. If this gave him grey hairs he was not going to be pleased, and someone would get a bill for him coloring his hair slong with a picture of whatever offending grayhair he had. But that was neither here nor there at the moment, there were plans he had to make. He needed to figure out who he might also be able to talk to....and where to find them.

Ever since the promotion had been given to her, and her upgrade, Ako had been testing the limits of her new abilities. She took great delight in learning to teleport effectively, and found herself often wandering around the... base? Headquarters? Castle? Whatever she was supposed to properly call it. There was something exciting to her about walking the halls and learning the layout, about seeing something new to her. So when light from an open door caught her eye, she slowed her pace and gently peeked within. The blond man at the desk seemed tired, his mind seeming preoccupied. She hadn't met him before officially, though she vaguely remembered him from the rescue incident, having thought she saw him talking to Chalcanthite possibly. Her memory of that night was hazy at best outside of having made a very bad decision to try and set a Transcendent Eternal senshi on fire with her magic in retaliation for him having shoved and zapped her mauvian friend. Mentally cringing at the memory, she really hoped this man didn't know about that. Or if he did, that he didn't recognize her. Speaking softly so to not startle him, Ako stepped partially into the room before asking "Is everything alright? You look.... troubled." While she didn't know him off the top of her head, she knew he ranked above her at the least. When her eyes fell upon the spike on his desk, she felt curious but also thought better than to ask him outright about it. If it was something she needed to know about, she would be told.

Looking up the blond took a moment before motioning her to the chair across from his desk. As he waited for her to seat herself, if she chose to, he went to rummage through his desk before pulling out the starfish pin he kept there. Offering it over to her. "Put this on." He didn't know if she'd seen the pin before, or the one he currently wore, but if she did she'd likely wonder why he was protecting her from having her energy drained. She might also wonder why he was protecting himself. He would, if asked, let her know but he wasn't going to go offering that information to her. It was still a project waiting to be finished, something put on hold in light of recent events. Once things cleared, and settled, he'd launch his plants and buisness landscaping.
"About as fine as possible, I suppose I'm tired and busy." Shrugging a bit as he spoke, shifting in his seat, his legs were tucked up and under himself as he sat comfortably."I could say that things are as usual though just a bit more busy than ususal really." Considering there was a war going on, had been for years, thigns were always as fine as possible ocnsidering they'd yet to put this war to rest and finish order once and for all. Tired and busy wasn't new for him though he was lacking a bit more than usual. blame that on a planet killing serpent, but really he was doing alright. He could always be doing worse.
"How are you this evening?" He didn't ask who she was, if she wanted to tell him she would, he was going to assume she came in to talk so he'd open the floor to her. She might need to get thigns off her chest after all, or have a question or some concern even. He was all for helping when and where he could. "I think I've seen you before....the house fight. You were alright after that, yes?"

Taking the seat across from him, Ako took the offered pin and frowned as she turned it over in her fingers before fastening it to her fuku. It seemed similar to the pins at the Gilded Encore, and that made her decidedly curious. "May I ask what this is for?"Ako nodded as he spoke, eyes finding their way back to the spike on his desk before looking back at him. If this was one of the ones that Chalcanthite mentioned, she definitely wanted to look closer at it, though she wasn't quite sure how to ask. Before she could form a way to pose the question, Benitoite recalled having seen her and it internally made her cringe. Crap. He definitely saw her and remembered her. "Yes, I'm Ako, I was there with Chalcanthite." She figured that if he didn't bring up her reckless behavior, neither would she. Her features softened when he asked about her wellbeing and she nodded. "I was a bit burnt, but it all healed up nicely. I was just glad that no one got too badly injured in all the commotion." Her smile and words were genuine as she spoke. Despite not having really known any of the others there, she still hated to think of anyone having gotten hurt. Well. Despite the hostage they had gone to retrieve, but that was a different story. Her eyes fell upon the spike once again and she frowned. "Any idea what that's made of? Or how it works?" Puzzles were something she had always been good at, working out and finding missing information, putting together clues and context. Maybe with any luck, she could be useful to the place that had given her a home, maybe she could continue to prove herself worthy of the place and power granted to her.

"The spike here." Gesturing to the spike resting on his desk. "I'm keeping safe wioth these." A gesture then to the plants on his desk." These plants I've managed to modify...they drain energy. That pin will keep you safe from the plants." He hadn't told anyone else about the plants, aside from his family members, Chalcanthite and their Queen, because his job was to keep the spike safe - and he would. Anyone entering his office would fall prey to his plants and they'd learn a lesson in crossing him. While some fought with words, and he was more than capable of using words against a person, and others were good with weapons which he too could do. It was his knowledge of flora which really shone, something most did not know, and here was a prime example of just what he could do. Plants were pretty, often delicate looking, but that didn't mean there was nothing else to them...these ones were just a new iteration of what that something else could be.
"That's good, minor burns heal and the chances of scars are minimum then. I've been victim to minor burns as well, I know how unpleasent they can be." How painful really, especially right after.
"No, not yet but I'll be looking into that as I'm sure others will be. It is rather fascinating to look at." Pointing to the orb where it seemed a galaxy was trapped inside.
