I'm so glad to see you guys enjoying the site! Did you know there are items called "cutters" that can affect the appearance of certain items?

Cutters may or may not have an appearance on the avatar themselves. So, some may be invisible and only change certain items; whereas others may add something to the avatar while also changing the appearance of another.

Hair Cutters

There are many items that can affect hair, but there are 3 main ones:

- Sainte Ciel: Agape (scissors pose)
- M's Sketchbook (hairpins pose) or its recolours
- Princess Less Than Three (hairclips pose) or its recolours

All of these cutters are invisible on your avatar. The question is: how do you know which one to use?

Sometimes it can be a guessing game figuring out which cutter will give the desired effect to the hair you're using. However, it is often predictable and this is how I would categorize them:

Agape (scissors): sometimes removes back of hair (makes hair short), sometimes removes a certain part of hair (e.g. ponytails), sometimes can remove hair accessories (e.g. headbands), in some rare cases it changes hair's appearance entirely

Sketchbook (hairpins): usually removes back of hair (makes hair short)

Princess Less Than Three (hairclips): usually removes hair accessories, but may also remove parts of hair

The best way to find out what they do is to play around with them.

There are also a lot of items that can shape hair/bangs a certain way. This guide will show you their effects: Hair Cutters and Mods

Clothing Cutters

There are so many clothing cutters on Gaia, and some of them don't actually have a specific way of knowing what they'll do to clothing. This is even more of a guessing game than with the hair cutters.

This guide lists which cutters affect which items. Unfortunately, it's not a visual guide, but it does say what will be affected/removed from the avatar when equipping certain cutters.

Clothing Cutter Guide (moreso for removing shoes, socks, sleeves from arm/leg mods)

This guide is a visual one, and focuses more on the mods that do make more predictable changes to your avatar. This one has a lot to do with cropping shirts, cutting dresses/skirts, altering necklines, and cinching the waist.

Hi! I'm not aware of anything that removes base legs when a legmod is already equipped. The two items you mentioned seem to have no issue when turned around in the try on, so it might be a combination of items/mods already equipped with them on causing the issue
