They had approached the tree months ago, a trip that held little resistance all things considered. To have two sisters approach the tree, even hybrids like himself and Svadra, was a welcome occasion. It was rare these days for anyone to push back, especially if you followed in the steps of the sisterhood. Which naturally, both himself and his partner had done their entire life.
When they had heard the news of two special blooms, they had been quite surprised. Excited, nervous, terrified. It really depended on the day.
But Crocus was grateful that he would be able to raise a daughter following in such a path as he, and maybe a little bit grateful that Svadra would be there to help...depending on who asked.

Svadra had traveled home to Oba as soon as the news arrived, intending to inform his mothers and sisters of the news. He was sure they would want to see the younglings near or after arrival, the first grandchildren of the family.
It was a quick trip, and when he came back his arms were filled with fabrics of all types. Little outfits would be fashioned, his daughters surely going to be some of the most fashionable of the sisterhood.
Or so he hoped. Maybe they would take Crocus' tendency to be simple, more keen on functionality than fashion. It would be interesting to see how they grew.

Currently, Crocus was returning from a hunt. He often went on hunts or workouts to get rid of the extra energy and nerves. He wasn't normally one to be nervous, so the exercises helped him collect his thoughts and align with what he needed to do.
Sweaty, winded, and holding a fresh catch, he returned to the home they were creating for the expanding family.

Inside, Svadra was sorting through the cloth from Oba, and a few from Jauhar. Most contained colorful patterns with embroidery or metallic stitching. Once in awhile, he would hold a certain fabric up and pause, before adding it to a smaller stack.

Upon entering the home, Crocus paused to eye his partner, quickly assessing the situation and determining it was way out of his range. Turning, he walked in to prepare the meats, taking about 30 more minutes before rinsing off and returning to meet with Svadra.
They weren't lovers, more partners, and so it wasn't anything intimate. They expressed some romance, but their true partnership was around acts of service, where they found ways to support each other as a team.

While Crocus worked to put away the foods, Svadra finished with his sorting, now considering the set of fabrics he had set aside. Would he make them into wraps, or maybe little loincloths. He wasn't used to making such fashion, but embraced this project all the same when news of their dark tonned blooms were spotted on the great tree's roots.
"Crocus, darling, what do you think of this fabric?"

Stress sweated his brow at the request, and he shuffled over to look at the sage green fabric with golden stitching. It wasn't a color that matched much of Oba, or Yael. It seemed like a design from there, but using more of the colors he was used to in Jauhar.
"It's...nice." He said awkwardly, clearing his throat before settling nearby to let out a soft breath.
"More from Oba?"

"You know I can't help myself. I have a reputation, after all." He replied softly, folding up the fabric and adding it to a small stack.
"If I can figure out how to style this, I think our daughters will have the best style in Chibale..."
Smiling devilishly, Svadra realized he also needed to get fans, and accessories.
Leaning back, he glanced over to Crocus and pondered another moment.
"It's been a few months, I imagine we'll get word of the blooming process sooner than later..."

The implication was clear in the lingering silence. Were they ready? He didn't know for sure as he had never handled younglings before. Sure they helped train them when they were younger, but to raise a youngling, still puttering about like a newborn Radaku, was something out of his worldview.
His parents offered to support them, and surely Svadra's sisters and mothers would visit, but at the end of the day this was a challenge they themselves needed to take on.

Crocus' lack of response caused Svadra to fully face him. Focused, attentive. Moments like these were few and far between, but they still occurred. Each struggled in their own way with the looming reality.
Crocus would brood, Svadra would shop.
"Why don't we go to one of the homes on the island."

Those visitor homes were meant for mothers waiting on blooms to spring open. They weren't at that point, but the offer was open as both were local parts of the sisterhood.
Crocus knew he was brooding, but he nodded all the same.
"Alright. I'd like that."

Svadra smiled and begun to prepare. They had an opportunity to visit their blooms and he couldn't wait to share some fabric. Maybe the blooms would twitch in preference, an adorable thought. It wouldn't take too long to pack, as most of the fabric was in a state to put away.

The trip to the island was swift, a normal trip they made once a year...more now with the impending blooms. Crocus said nothing of Svadras pack, instead listening and nodding to the light conversation.
They made it to the visitor home and settled in, saying hello to sisters they trained with and those that recognized them.
Finally, it was time to visit the blooms.

The trip was straightforward for Svadra, and he now had a few choice fabrics in hand. They were led to the roots of Aisha where blooms lingered in different states. Some other mothers were visiting, one set excited about their children peeking from the soft petals.
Svadra knew it was early, and yet as they approached their dark blooms, he excitedly peeked to see if theirs had little fingers and toes sprouting out.
Sadly, the blooms were still growing. No children yet.

Crocus ignored the other blooms, moving forward with a focus on their own. The sisters who tended the flowers encouraged him to softly touch the petal, to speak to their growing children.
As his large fingers brushed the soft texture, he felt lost. He recoiled back as if he were to tear such a soft thing.
