Gardening || Sunbloom loves to grow all kinds of things, including flowers for his crafting projects and herbs and vegetables for home cooking. He finds gardening peaceful and relaxing, and there's a certain joy in being able to coax a plant from seed to fruit, as it were. Even if he has to be very careful about quarantining his mint.
Cooking || What would be the point of growing fresh veggies and herbs if not to cook with them and share with other people! Sunbloom loves making family recipes, but also loves trying new things, and sharing the results with family and friends. Please come try his latest recipe, he promises it's delicious!
Art || On his own, Sunbloom mostly paints landscapes and nature scenes, and it's not uncommon to find him in a park with a watercolor sketchbook, rendering what he sees in front of him. At home, he works in multiple media, including digital art, and he does character commission work as well as his beloved nature paintings.
Crafting || Specifically, Sunbloom likes to make all kinds of preserved flower items--hair combs, pendants, decorative pieces, you name it and he's probably tried it. He's done dried, pressed, and resined flowers, and likes to try different techniques if he can. He has an Etsy store where he sells his creations, a little display at Lavender Haze, and a tendency to give them away to people if he feels particularly compelled.
Virtues:
Friendly || Sunbloom is always eager to get to know people, make new friends, and so on. He tries to greet the world with open arms, as it were, and finds a lot of joy in getting to know other people, hear their stories, and just talk with them about the things they love. And if he gets a new friend, great, but if not, at least he had a nice conversation!
Optimistic || Sunbloom really does want to believe the world is a good place that arcs towards getting better. Sure, sometimes you need to show up and do the work to make it better, it's not going to happen by magic, but he always wants to believe in the ability to be better and actively refuses to let himself get cynical. The world is a better place if we believe it is, as far as he's concerned.
Pacifist || Sunbloom prefers to avoid violence, verbal confrontation, or any other sort of nasty unpleasantness. He was raised to believe in the power of peace, and he tries to actively practice that. This even goes so far as being willing to put himself in between conflicts to try and resolve them--and it works for him sometimes! Every time it does, Sunbloom considers it a personal victory.
Flaws:
Pacifist || To the point of foolishness. Sunbloom has been known to put himself in danger to stop situations from escalating to violence, and it's gotten him hurt on more than one occasion. Sunbloom sees it as "commitment to his ideals," and even though the times where it has a positive effect tend to be outweighed by the times when he just gets punched, he will keep trying, no matter how foolish it is.
Moody || Sure, Sunbloom tries to keep up a cheery exterior, but it doesn't always work, and since he's a generally conflict-avoidant person, when he's upset about something, he tends to let it fester. And build. Until it bubbles over and he shuts himself in his room for a day and stops talking to anyone because he needs to be In His Feelings under his blankets over something that could have been resolved if he had done literally anything to resolve it.
Overly Trusting || Sunbloom wants to think the best of people, and tends to believe that they're being honest, upfront, and forthright with him, because he prefers to be that way with other people. Obviously other people will match his energy, right? Wrong, and yet no matter how many times he pays for it, Sunbloom is going to insistently continue to believe this.
